A wide range of Panamanian cultures—including Afro-Caribbean, Indigenous, and those of the country’s rural interior—meet at Mi Pueblito. An old-fashioned school, barber shop, kitchen, and hacienda are a glimpse into the country’s campesino, or farmer, traditions, while palm-roofed huts depict life in traditional Guna villages. For many visitors, shopping is a highlight of visiting Mi Pueblito. Dozens of small shops contain handicrafts including hand-sewn mola textiles and Wounaan carvings made from tagua nuts.
Admission to Mi Pueblito includes a guided tour, although guides are not always available.
Since Mi Pueblito is located next to Ancon Hill, consider combining both attractions into one visit.

Mi Pueblito is an included stop on many tours of Panama City, as well as independent hop-on hop-off buses. If you’re coming on your own, ride the C862 bus that loops through downtown and stops at Mi Pueblito. Mi Pueblito can also be reached via taxi or rideshare: It’s 4 miles (6.4 kilometers) from downtown Panama City and 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from Casco Viejo.
Opening hours at Mi Pueblito vary, so if you’re not coming as part of a tour, it’s a good idea to ask around locally before visiting. Adjacent Ancon Hill is a popular destination at sunrise. If you’re visiting both locations, consider an early morning walk up Ancon Hill followed by a tour of Mi Pueblito.
Shopping for traditional crafts is a major draw at Mi Pueblito, but that’s just the beginning of Panama City souvenir markets. Another favorite is the Mercado de Artesanías 5 de Mayo, known for Guna Yala fabrics and crafts. Or, head to the National Handicraft Market (Mercado Nacional de Artesanias) located in Old Panama Ruins (Panamá Viejo).
