Located in the center of Santa Ana, Santa Ana National Theater rubs shoulders with the Santa Ana Cathedral and Parque Libertad, which became the city's center after the Spanish takeover in the 17th century. After a decade of construction, the theater finally opened in 1912 with a production of the Italian opera, Rigoletto.
Best visited as part of a tour, the no-expense-spared theater features elements from worldwide. Visitors can explore three levels linked by sweeping staircases and salons with crystal chandeliers dangling from painted ceilings and learn about a century of history from both sides of the velvet curtains.
