The hub of Bodrum’s yachting activities, Bodrum Marina is a must-visit for travelers. Many come to join cruises along the local coast, some to board private boat and yacht charters, and others to stroll, absorb the exclusive atmosphere, and check out the gleaming boats, boutiques, and restaurants. Come evening, the marina draws those wanting to admire the sunset from its waterside bars, dine at the swanky restaurants, and unwind at the marina yacht club’s music bar.
Most Bodrum tours pass the marina en route to other sites such as the Bodrum Windmills and the Castle of St. Peter’s. The marina also features on many of the city’s boat tours. It’s the starting point for island cruises, multi-day wooden gulet journeys along the Bodrum Peninsula and Gulf of Gökova, and private sailing trips.
Bodrum Marina is set on Bodrum’s westernmost bay and best reached by cab or on foot along the palm-fringed waterfront road of Neyzen Tefvik. Local dolmus (public minibuses) run along the street. Drivers should follow Neyzen Tefvik from the castle until they reach the marina, on their left. Local parking is limited so it’s best to use the parking garage on Cevat Sakir, near Bodrum’s bus station.
While Bodrum Marina can get busy in summer, it’s a pleasant place to explore at any time. The shops have their own opening times but they tend to stay open till mid-evening, while the restaurants and bars operate until late throughout summer. The views from the marina over the castle and bay are particularly Instagram-worthy at sunset and after dark. The marina also hosts several international yacht races between spring and fall.
The marina has plenty for shopaholics, foodies, and night owls. The shopping mall offers designer outlets along with upmarket jewellers and cosmetics stores. Food spots include a crêperie, coffee houses, and a swish yacht club, the latter with a rooftop seafood restaurant and late-night live music in summer.
