The church is located on the southeast corner of Krakow’s Main Market Square, where Rynek Główny meets Grodzka Street. The Old Town is best accessed on foot, but if you’re traveling from the main train station, you could take the #3 or #69 tram to Poczta Główna, then walk for 6 minutes to the church.

The underground archeological museum is usually open from mid-morning until mid-afternoon on Mondays through Saturdays, and it's typically closed on Sundays. It’s best to check opening times before visiting, and to visit close to opening time for a less crowded experience.
The namesake of this beautiful church, St. Adalbert was the first bishop of Prague (born in 956 in Bohemia, which is now the Czech Republic). He worked as a missionary in Hungary, Poland, and Prussia, and the church was built on the spot where St. Adalbert gave a sermon to Krakow’s residents. It is believed he was martyred in 997 while on a mission to convert the Baltic Prussians to Christianity.
