The basics

At WEAM, visitors are able to gain a better understanding of the history of sex and sexuality through artifacts and pieces from noted artists, including Rembrandt, Rodin, Picasso, and Dalí. Modern pieces include everything from countless sex toys in various shapes to dominatrix Barbie dolls. In addition to temporary exhibitions, the museum houses permanent displays that span the globe, such as “African Treasures,” which explores the continent’s traditions of artwork devoted to fertility and the human form.

When to get there

WEAM is open daily, except for major holidays, with last entry one hour before closing. For many, the most comfortable time to visit Miami is in the spring (March through May) before the summer humidity hits.
