How to get there

Located 18 miles (30 kilometers) west of central Rio de Janeiro, the most convenient way to reach Marapendi Natural Park is by taxi or rideshare. If you prefer public transport, head to the nearest bus stop, Padre Alfredo Gonzales, serviced by buses 302, 309, 552, 805, and SP805. From there, it’s an easy walk to the park’s entrance.

When to get there

Marapendi Natural Park is typically open Tuesday to Sunday, from 8am to 5pm. To make the most of your visit, consider going in the morning or late afternoon. The temperatures are more comfortable during these times, and the wildlife is more active. As for the best season to visit, any time of year is suitable, but keep in mind that the rainy season typically falls between December and March.
