Throughout the main hall, exhibits cover modern-day environmental disasters and visual displays that depict ozone damage, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy consumption. Choose between a basic admission ticket or a package that includes a tour of the museum and round-trip transportation, or a visit to the nearby Rio Art Museum.
The best way to get to the Museum of Tomorrow is to take the VLT light rail from Carioca Station in downtown Rio to the Port Zone, or take metro lines 1, 2, or 4 to Uruguaiana station, from which the museum is a 10-minute walk.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, and tickets are timed. Plan to visit on a weekday afternoon, when the museum tends to be least crowded.
The Museum of Tomorrow is the flagship landmark of a massive revitalization effort in the city’s Port Zone, known locally as Little Africa. What used to be a decaying industrial zone is now a newly-renovated cultural area that features museums, restaurants, plazas, and stunning views of the bay and the Rio-Niteroi Bridge.
