PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park is one of Spain's top water parks, offering more than 12 acres (5 hectares) of pools, slides, and other water features. Younger kids love easy-going slides with no minimum height requirement, while older children and adults can take on the 328-foot (100-meter) slide Ciclon Tropical or King Khajuna’s thrilling free fall. The smallest visitors enjoy an indoor play area and the shallow Sésamo Beach wading pool.

Pets can spend the day at the park’s on-site kennel, but you’ll need the animal’s sanitary certificate to check them in.
Wheelchairs and strollers can be rented at the park entrance.
Reaching the park by train, bus, or car is easy. There is a PortAventura World stop on the R-17 and RT2 lines of the Rodalies de Catalunya regional rail system. The bus company Plana offers service to the park from a handful of Catalonia airports, hotels, and towns. If you’re driving, access PortAventura World via the A-7 highway; reaching the theme park from Barcelona generally takes about 90 minutes.
The PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park is open from late May through mid-September. While the water park usually opens at 10am daily, the closing time changes throughout the year. Average midsummer high temperatures reach 87°F (31°C), so a morning arrival can help avoid the hottest early-afternoon hours. Friday and Monday are generally the quietest days at the park.
Outside food is not allowed at the theme park, but plenty of dining options are inside. Snack bars serve hot dogs, hamburgers, pasta, salads, tacos, fish and chips, ice cream, and other kid-friendly treats. Find more options outside the park: Beach town Salou is 4 miles (6.4 kilometers) away, while historic Tarragona has more upscale dining just 8 miles (12.9 kilometers) from the park entrance.
