Incredible day trip through Karnataka - don't hesitate, just book!

This tour was absolutely incredible! Praveen was an amazing host and took me to both hidden gems (such as a silk cocoon auction and the market at Mysore) in addition to the monuments and highlights. Praveen kept great track of time and has clearly worked to establish relationships with restaurants, vendors, etc. so I never had to wait in long lines at the sights. He helped me try all of the local foods and ensured me that the food was completely safe (which is was). Praveen's knowledge of the history of the area was amazing, but we also just had wonderful conversation about India's culture / languages, and general travel conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed my time during this tour and would give this experience 5 stars!

What a fun way to experience a LOT in one full day. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable on every facet of history and how India’s culture has shaped over the years. Loved the lunch spot and really enjoyed the historical aspects!

Enlightening Tour Packed with Insights and Discoveries

My friend and I would highly recommend this tour as it is very insightful. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Mysore, Somnathpur, and Srirangapatna. Our tour guide, Pradeep, was amazing - very knowledgeable and humorous, which made our experience even more memorable. He provided many recommendations around Bangalore and took great care to ensure our safety throughout the tour. By the end of the tour, he felt like a father to us!

The Only Way to See Mysore from Bangalore

During my four week trip to Bangalore I booked Hidden Gems for 2 tours and this was my second tour with them. One of my tour was guided by the owner, Praveen, and he was an incredible wealth of knowledge, very professional and personable as well. For this tour to Mysore, we had Praveen's daughter Sanjana as our guide while Faizan accompanied us as the local heritage expert. Both of them were equally as knowledgeable, professional and personable throughout the tour. Overall we had an amazing time on their tours and I cannot recommend them enough. They pride themselves in providing a safe, welcoming and informative experience and you should definitely book with them if you find yourself in Bangalore. Five stars isn't enough, they deserve 10.

The guides and driver took care of everything and were extremely helpful. Best experience I ever had in regards to their dedication to make sure we were enjoying, safe, well fed and all. No pushing to stores and things as such to take your money. Sanjana was amazing, took pictures for the group and was always pleasant. The guide had a lot of knowledge of the area, local habits and religion. Told several interesting stories. Driver very punctual and safe driving. Would do it again and recommend to anyone.

This was one of if not the best tour I've ever done. Praveen was an EXCEPTIONAL guide. He picked us up from our hotel in Bangalore and was with us for about 12 hours. He was incredibly knowledgable and such a fun guide. We saw so much of this area that we would have never seen without him. Everything was seamless from avoiding the cues at Mysore palace to having a traditional breakfast, seeing Kesheva temple in Somnathpur and Srirangapatna. I can't overstate how excellent this tour was and how great a guide Praveen was. Highly recommend taking a day in your schedule to do this tour!

A Fabulous Day Tour

With only 48 hours in Bangalore, we wanted to make the most of our time in the area, and several friends recommended Mysore. This tour was definitely a highlight of our travels. From the moment I booked it to when we were dropped off back at our hotel, everything went smoothly - great communication throughout. Our guide Praveen was fantastic - one of those guides who clearly loves their job. He patiently answered all our questions and showed us so much about the area. He also helped me get some great shots when I mentioned I love photography. We loved all the places we visited, and we had plenty of time at each spot to explore. The food for breakfast and lunch (and a few surprise treats) were also phenomenal! Would absolutely recommend this tour to others.

A well planned and concentrated exposure to heritage sites around Bangalore

We had limited time in Bangalore, so we wanted to maximize our exposure to the many heritage sites in the area. This tour was a very full day, but fully met our needs. Our guide, Deepak Venilal, was exceptional. Deeply knowledgeable, accommodating, engaging: all the essential attributes. The day was long, but it didn’t seem that way, with wonderful breakfast and lunch giving opportunities for rest and reflection. It was almost like a food tour mixed in with the heritage sites, with Deepak ensuring we sampled a wide variety of delicious Indian food.

Traveling in Bangalore for business. The tour was a fantastic break from the city. Mysore Palace was nice, but the additional stops made the journey worth it. Our guide was very accomodating. We were able to visit restaurants and shops not accessible to big tour companies. Recommend to all who visit Bangalore.

Ramesh did a great job on the tour. He was extremely knowledgaeable and has the day perfectly timed out. He gave great tours of the major sites. In addition he also took us on a walk through a local village which gave a better understanding of how people live. Later in the day we had lunch at a very pleasant outdoor restaurant along a river. It was a great day!

Praveen from Hidden Gems Tours was our guide. Very knowledgeable about not only the places we visited: Somnathpur, Mysore, and Srirangapatna, but also about Bangalore and Karnataka as he has lived there all his life. He chose great spots for breakfast (a veritable feast of various south Indian dishes!) and lunch (a serene, shaded, riverside restaurant on an island in the middle of the Cauvery river). There was another couple on the tour with us, so it was a small group of four. That allowed plenty of time for questions and personal interactions. Our driver Apsar (spelling?) was also very nice and drove carefully in the chaotic traffic of Bangalore! The 1-day tour of Mysore, Somnathpur, and Srirangapatna makes for a long day, but the temple at Somnathpur made it worthwhile and was the highlight of the tour for us. Praveen knew the history well and pointed out details on the carvings that we would have missed. All in all, highly recommended.

Our tour guide, Pradeep, was excellent. We learned a lot about every site we visited. His wit and sense of humor made us feel comfortable everywhere we went. The local eateries gave us a true sense of the locals. Highly recommend!!

Mysore and so much more!

This experience starts early! Pickup time is 6:30 a.m., and it's a full 13-hour day. You start by taking the highway west out of Bangalore. The first stop is for breakfast, where your tour guide Praveen will order you an assortment of traditional breakfast foods. The first stop after breakfast is Chennakesava Temple, a site which has been named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is amazing! The second stop is Mysore Palace. After touring the inside and the outside of the palace, you make a brief stop at the local market, and then it's off to lunch by the river. The final stop is Srirangapatna where you will see the fort and the Tipu Palace. If you take other Mysore tours, you will go from Bangalore to Mysore and straight back. If you take this tour, you get to see so many more additional things that the region has to offer. It is worth the time!

An introduction to Karnatakas history and architecture

It was one of the most special days in India. I visited a fruit and flower market,where I had the possibility to try all sorts of tropical fruit-specially the bael with sugarcane sugar. Then we visited the temples and palaces exactly as the program said. The lunch and breakfast I couldn't take,because I was suffering from a food poisoning. On the way I had the opportunity to learn more on the Indian history from the very beginning to the end.Thanks a lot to Praveen for offering me this wonderful experience. It was one of the most expensive vacations and at the beginning I was shocked that it costed double money for a single person but it was definetively worth it.

An excellent insightful adventure

A thoroughly excellent adventure. I'm in Bengaluru for business, and decided I should escape the tech park and see some real India for the day. This tour did not disappoint. Picked up from my hotel perfectly on time Deepak (my guide) and his driver whisked me out the city to enjoy an excellent breakfast of traditional foods. Insightful stop at a silk cocoon market. Then on to one of the most beautiful temples I have ever seen, a true wonder. Followed by Mysore palace, super interesting and lavish. The market, busy and colourful. 11/10 lunch by the riverside, soothing after the hustle and bustle. On to another palace of incredible opulence then back home. All the time Deepak was full of excellent facts and great conversation. I do feel much better connected with India and some of the culture. I strongly recommend this tour.

Pradeep is one of the smartest and most knowledgeable tour guides I have ever me. Impressed me with his knowledge of everything. Was able to bring the ancient history and architecture alive.
