Fantastisk kombination av historia och fotografiteknik

Jag var så nöjd med denna turné. Jag hade valt det för att det annonserade om undervisning i fotografiteknik, och den sista fotokursen jag gick var före införandet av digital fotografering. Jag lärde mig inte bara hur man skaffar och bearbetar bilder på min telefon, utan också begrepp om gruppering, färgkontrast och inramning. Bara detta skulle ha gjort detta till en spektakulär turné. Men eftersom jag nämnde att jag förmodligen också skulle ta den konventionella Freedom Trail-turen, ändrade vi min ursprungliga plan för att fokusera på Beacon Hill. Jag var fascinerad av historien och livligheten i denna historia i Boston. Jag är nästan frestad att ta en ny rundtur i en annan del av staden för att lära mig mer fotograferingsteknik och historia.

I’m sorry the tour did not meet your expectations. The PhotoWalks Freedom Trail tour consistently receives 5-star reviews. It has the most historical commentary out of all of my tours. I do not over-explain the details of the important events in American history. I focus on providing relevant, compelling commentary that is truthful and dispels the myths that have distorted the "facts" about early American history. My commentaries are thorough and well-researched. Some of the major points that were covered were: 1) The events that unfolded on April 18, 1775 that led to the American Revolution 2) Paul Revere's pivotal role on the eve of the Revolution 3) The inaccuracies in the poem of the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere 4) Trivia facts that are not well-known about John Hancock, Ben Franklin and Samuel Adams 5) Accurate facts about the night of the Boston Tea Party 6) What really happened on the night of the Boston Massacre 7) The accurate date of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the famous Revolutionaries that didn’t sign it. 8) The importance of the Treaty of Paris There was plenty of historical information. At the beginning of the tour, I mentioned that questions are encouraged. I would’ve been glad to provide supplementary details if you wanted to learn more about something specific. We saw 11 out of 16 sites on the Freedom Trail. Again, I mentioned that we would see most of the sites. It’s not possible to explore all 16 sites on a 90-minute tour nor does it state that in the description of the tour experience. I work very hard to distinguish my tours from the rest. PhotoWalks is the only provider of walking tours in Boston that includes insightful historical commentary and photo tips where your pictures become souvenirs. I'm sorry this was not the experience you wanted.

Saba kunde inte ha varit trevligare eller mer kunnig. Hon ledde oss genom detta vackra område och vi har nu otroliga minnen med våra bilder. Eftersom vi bara var två på turnén, beslutade vi att gå runt Beacon Hill istället för att göra Freedom Trail. Det var definitivt en höjdpunkt på vår resa.

Walked on a portion of the Freedom Trail--maybe 25% of the total trail length. Some historical "facts" supposedly dispelled. Not nearly as comprehensive/complete as we had hoped. Guide was friendly and able to answer questions.

I’m sorry the tour did not meet your high expectations, William. The entire Freedom Trail is 2.5 miles long and has 16 historic sites. We saw 11 out of 16 sites, which is much more than 25%. The areas we covered were: --Boston Common --Massachusetts State House --Park Street Church --Granary Burial Ground --King's Chapel --Old City Hall --Old South Meeting House --Old Corner Bookstore --Old State House --Boston Massacre site --Faneuil Hall It’s not possible to explore all 16 Freedom Trail sites on a 90-minute tour. Only a few walking tour companies cover the entire 2.5 miles in about 3-4 hours. My commentaries are thorough, well-researched and backed by truthful facts. Some of the major points I explained were: 1) The events that unfolded on April 18, 1775 that lead to the American Revolution 2) Paul Revere's pivotal role on the eve of the Revolution 3) The inaccuracies in the poem "Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" 4) Accurate facts about the Boston Tea Party event 5) What really happened on the night of the Boston Massacre 6) The accurate date of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the famous Revolutionaries that didn’t sign it. 7) The significance of the Treaty of Paris I do not over-explain the details of the important events in American history. Saba must be a historical researcher as she can quote dates without wavering. I learned so much in a short period of time and anyone else who plans on taking this tour should request Saba...two big thumbs up!

We booked this trip...

We booked this trip specifically because it clearly stated that the group size was a maximum of 10. Our group had 21 people in it. When I asked about it the owner said "well, it's a holiday weekend". The small group part of this tour only applies if they can't sell more than 10 tickets - (columbus day weekend) there are better tours with less people available at a more reasonable price

Mark, I am really sorry that a group size affected your tour experience. If you noticed other groups around us(the costumed guides), they had many more people and often have the largest groups of well over 20 people. Our tour went smoothly, the group was attentive and listened to my commentary throughout the walk. No one said that they couldn't hear me. I answered any questions you had that wasn't covered in the commentary. This tour didn't meet your expectations from the beginning due to group size, yet you stayed the entire time. I work very hard and do my best to provide the best walking tours possible in Boston. Almost 100% of the reviews for my Freedom Trail tour are 5-stars. And, nearly 100% of the time my tours have less than 20 people for a more personalized experience. Again, please accept my sincere apologies. A refund has been processed as a gesture of good will.

Awesome tour! Saba was a delightful guide. Worth every penny! She not only showed us some great tips for taking possible photographs at different sites, but she was also full of valuable information about the city and its incredible history. We learned so much about the city and also had a lot of fun. Since we were a small tour, Saba was very flexible to catering the tour to our interests. We will return and try her other tours!
