A Day in HUon valley

Hastings caves were excellent, only one way in and out. Fascinating and our group was very lucky to score a private tour guide. Tahune airwalk and bush walk park was fun, I didn't venture onto the over hanging platform as it was rather windy and the platform was swaying. The two swingbridges were enthralling and a little bit scary at first, I felt more confident on the second one. Huon valley very scenic and beautiful, lunch was great as well., Our tour Guide/Driver Malcolm was superb, I would definetly recommend this tour, was a great day out.

Not to be missed tour.

Swimming in the thermal pool was great. The caves are fantastic and the sky walk excellent. Our driver, Gerard, was so knowledgeable and gave us such an invite to the history and geography of the area. We only had 7 on our little bus which made the day even more enjoyable. Lunch was delicious at the pub.

If you're visiting Hobart then I would definitely recommend this tour! Our guide was Keeley and she was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. It felt like a great day out with a thoughtful friend who knows a lot and who took care of everything for you. The Cave and the Tahune walk were spectacular in their own ways and it's a fantastic way to explore Tasmania outside of Hobart. Highly recommended.

Nice and very full day trip

I enjoyed the ave visit. It's a beautiful cave with a lnowledgable guide, the hot spring pool is 28° and couldd really be called a warm spring. The Tahone adventure was a surprise walk up high in the trees and a Km hike through the woods. I brought my own picnic lunch which turned out to be much faster than ordering from the restaurant.

Dont waste your money

A lot of money for very little. 23 people crammed onto tiny bus with no air con. Only 10 mins at hot springs- not enough time to go in. A lot of wasted time at other places. I feel it was a total rip off

Hi Suzanne. We are deeply disappointed that you had this experience. Our 22 seat bus is only 2 years old and maintained at the best of standards. We normally spend 45 minutes at the thermal pool so it is surprising that you only got 10 minutes. If you email me at info@toursaroundtasmania.com.au I can find out what happened on your specific tour. We are in the process of considering options to increase the time at the thermal pool and rainforest area to an hour, which we expect would result in a more relaxed experience. Sending you home with incredible memories of Tasmania is our sole purpose and we deeply regret we did not deliver this for you.

My wife and I had a fantastic day in the caves and on the airwalk although it rained all day. They were stunning and well worth visiting while the highlight of the day was the Tahune Airwalk and the swing bridges over the Huron and Picton rivers. The lunch at the Kermandie Hotel (own expense) was excellent. Our driver for the day Malcolm was brilliant, so helpful and patient all day. He made our trip.

Special adventure in Tassie

The caves and airwalk are our first time experience. It’s wonderful. We would like more time to explore the Tahune area. We left at 4pm and thought could be later as the day is longer.

Thank you for your review Amy. We agree there is so much to do in the Huon Valley region, which is still one of Tasmania's hidden treasures. Unfortunately Tahune Adventures close at 4pm. However because of wonderful feedback like yours we are working on adding some exciting features to the end of our tour next year!

Loved the Hastings Caves and the Tahune Adventure area. Huw, our tour guide was personable and knowledgeable. We travelled in comfortable, air-conditioned transport. Just two things irritated me. Lunch was not included, which was fine, however, we were only given the choice of a pub meal in Kermandie when there was a gourmet pie shop only 5 minutes walk up the road. This should have been given as an option for lunch but it wasn’t. The Tahune Airwalk was great, however, Huw gave us the impression that if we wanted to do the forest walk (only 3 km) we’d have to hurry. The reality was it was an easy walk through stunning bush land and was highlighted by crossing two swing bridges. It would have been a shame to have missed this and despite Huw’s discouragement, our entire group did it in plenty of time,

For lunch it is sometimes difficult for guides to manage some groups at one location and some at another. I understand in your case this may not have been an issue. We try to be clear in our marketing and booking confirmations that lunch is not included and the costs and that you are more than welcome to bring lunch if you wish. A enjoyable day thanks to the driver Malcolm. He was friendly, helpful and informative. His driving made us feel safe at all times especially on those winding roads. We got to experience good weather uniquely paired with flooding rivers and caves.

Out of the two weeks me and my partner spent in Hobart, doing a variety of different day trips, this was my absolute favourite and it came down to our guide. Malcolm was knowledgeable, funny and accommodating to our small group of people. He moved me and my partner to the front when my partner got car sick and told us all about the areas we were in and even about native Flora and Fauna which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would recommend this trip to anyone, especially if Malcolm was the guide.

It was a great day out at the caves and the air walk and the pub for lunch we had a great day with our tour guide he was very informative and very knowledgeable of the areas and friendly !
