Vi var två par som reste tillsammans. Vår guide Erdem var fantastisk. Han fick oss att känna oss välkomna och bekväma. Jag trodde inte att dagen skulle bli så fullspäckad med besök och information som den var. Efesos var fantastiskt och Erdem är så passionerad och var den bästa guiden vi har haft på alla våra resor. Han svarade på alla våra frågor, skyndade oss inte i värmen och var vänlig och rolig. Våra stopp efter i butikerna, lunch, lära oss om turkiska mattor var en utmärkt tid. Our guide provided incredible historical detail, He spent a lot of time reviewing the complex history of Ephesus and providing rest and good food. This was an amazing tour, and the guide spared no effort to ensure we had a thorough understanding of Ephesus. The lunch and visit to a pottery studio were also wonderful.

another great experience with our local guide Selim. it was our second tour with him and everything was well planned out. weather was good and sunny. we were brought to a lovely pottery workshop and store that sells handcrafted ceramics. as a collector i couldn’t resist from getting at least a piece. at Ephesus, i like how we started from above and then slowly walked down and exit from below. definitely suitable for my father who has leg and breathing problems. there are some slippery paths made of marble that were made aware of beforehand. as usual Selim is always ready providing information about the history and anything related to izmir or turkiye. road trip was pleasant with panoramic views and stories to tell. Selim is also mindful with any dietary restrictions or food allergies that we have. overall excellent trip, im glad i booked this tour.

We had a great time with Selim! He knows a lot and had an answer to every question even if the answer was ‘there’s no answer' which is great for us rather than have a wrong answer. He is very very knowledgeable about Efes and Turkey in general. He even took the time to recommend places, food and spots for photos every chance he got. He’s also a great and very patient photographer. The restaurant he took us for lunch was also great! Efes is by itself majestic, but being guided by Selim made us travel back in time! Being on a small group also helped a lot and our group was specially friendly! Thank you very much!

Great experience, definitely worth it. Ephesus is magnificent and the tour guide very knowledgeable of ancient history. Lunch was a good and the visit to St Mary’s house which was optional is also worth it to visit. Highly recommend this tour

Good Ephesus Tour Despite Difficult Pickup

Ephesus was amazing and is a must see place if you’re in Izmir. The tour was great. My only issue was that the tour said hotel pickup/drop off included and this was not the case. Instead I needed to meet at a meeting point. It wasn’t far so it would have been fine however I didn’t have data so was unable to use maps to get there and it was quite stressful making sure I didn’t get lost.

Disappointed with Viatour service

I thought the actual visit at Ephesus and Guide (Esra) was great. She was knowledgeable and familiar with the sites. I had issue with ending the tour 3 hours earlier - and that the Terrace House and Virgin Mary site were missing. The tour noted that the entrance fees were not included but we were not even given the option to visit. The lunch was a typical tourist Buffett - average food - nothing special but that’s what you get on these tourist catered lunches….and very late in the day. After lunch, we asked if we were going to the next location, and told we would not be going and just returning everyone to their hotels. I also don’t appreciate taking us to a ceramic shopping market which was not on the itinerary - taking time we should have been visiting these sites. Viatour was also not accommodating to our issue and concern that our tour ended early and two sites were not visited. Very disappointed in their service attention. Two other passengers had the same experience and concerns that they were also expecting to visit these locations so it wasn’t a singular issue. I would recommend Viatour reconsider partnering with this vendor. You could have done better in addressing our concerns. I did not expect a full refund but consideration that we didn’t get part of what we paid for on booking this tour.

The tour noted that the entrance fees were not included but we were not even given the option to visit: The places you have mentioned are not missing, I have talked to our guide and learned that you have not asked for any places which were in option. -The lunch was a typical tourist Buffett - average food - nothing special but that’s what you get on these tourists catered lunches….and late in the day: The program was already given to, nothing unexpected happened. On the other hand, the restaurant is the one that our agency prefers for all the tours and almost seven hundred reviews have praised the restaurant which we use in our tours. All the ingredients are fresh, they produce their own olive oil, grow their own tomatoes, the toilets are clean and usable by all people, so it is quite impossible to be average. - I also don’t appreciate taking us to a ceramic shopping market which was not on the itinerary: It is written on the itinerary; it is not a surplus decision. -Two other passengers had the same experience and concerns that they were also expecting to visit these locations so it wasn’t a singular issue: We do not think that it is appropriate to talk about other people who may think in other way. Also, there were twelve people in total on this tour and all our customers except you left positive comments. As a large company that has been serving tourism for more than 10 years, your unfair complaint has been forwarded to our legal department. In addition, the fact that you requested a 100% refund even though you received all the included services such as the Ephesus Archaeological Site entrance ticket, lunch, guide, and transportation, and then requested that you refund even a certain part of it shows how malicious your complaint is. We will continue to provide the good services we have always provided to our guests who know how to travel.

I decided to go on this tour because getting to Ephesus from Izmir on my own seemed like a real adventure! Plus, I was eager to soak up some knowledge along the way. Esra, our tour guide, was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Big thanks to her! If you're a fan of learning new things and exploring unique spots, I recommend this tour. Before hitting Ephesus, we made a pit stop at this charming ceramic shop that was a lovely addition to our journey. Now, let's talk Ephesus – the only drawback (if I had to pick one) was that the two-hour visit felt a bit speedy for my relaxed pace. I'm more of a "savour the moment" kind of person. But, you still get to see all of Ephesus, and there's plenty of time to snap some fantastic photos. So, all in all, it was a really worthwhile tour! Not to mention, we also had a lovely air conditioned ride and a lovely driver. It's worth mentioning that having a bit of cash handy for tipping the driver at the end is a good idea.

It was a wonderful trip to the beautifully preserved and restored city of Ephesus. Our guide was very knowledgeable and also very engaging. We never felt rushed, and were able to take our time to enjoy the wonderful history all around us. The lunch was very nice. And the visit to the ceramics studio and gallery was the cherry on top.
