Tre platser som var väl värda ett besök! Det bästa med resan var vår mycket proffsiga guide! Det sämsta var väl avstånden. Det blev många timmar i bussen. Det fantastiska landskapet vägde dock upp en hel del. Skulle ha behövt mer tid på Warwick Castle då det fanns så otroligt mycket att se där.

Underbar dagstur från London. Incheckning på Victoria Coach station är hektisk eftersom de har ett antal turer som går ungefär samtidigt, men när vi väl var lastade på vår mycket bekväma, rena nya buss var allt bättre. Vår guide Paul var fantastisk och underhöll oss med berättelser om forntida kungar och drottningar och hertigar och jarlar och andra historiska personer från det förflutna när vi gick. Vår chaufför Christos gjorde sitt bästa för att hålla oss borta från långsam trafik och in på de mest effektiva vägarna som möjligt. Warwick Castle var intressant med sin långa och varierande historia. Stratford on Avon var fantastisk och vår vandringstur i Oxford med Paul var både lärorik och fantastisk. Detta är en fantastisk rundtur att ta om du har lite ledig tid och vill fly från Londons liv och rörelse för en dag i landet.

Inte ett särskilt genomtänkt turnéprogram

Det var inte en välplanerad resa på grund av följande skäl: 1 . Warwick Castle - vi betalade en betydande inträdesavgift, men tilldelades endast 1 . 5 timmar för att besöka slottet och föreställningarna. Vi missade ett antal shower. Vad kunde ha varit lite mer användbart om turnén var fokuserad på enbart slottet med en reducerad inträdesavgift (exklusive shower) - ett slags skräddarsytt arrangemang av turnéarrangörerna. 2 . Cotswold pass by: när vi bokade resan nämndes det Cotswold pass by (ingen stopp) i rubriken, men Viator försökte bli politiskt korrekt när de tog bort "Cotswold" från titeln innan de drog av pengarna - mycket väl genomtänkt - men om du tänker ur kundens perspektiv - detta är fräckt (lämnar inget gott intryck i slutet). Det här upplägget var helt vettigt när turnébussen färdades i minst 60 - 70 km/h och visade några gröna fält och inte ens gav oss möjligheter att ta bilder. Allt var så slumpmässigt. Vi har tagit flera turer i Skottland, Lake District genom Viator - och denna turné gav oss det sämsta intrycket.

Following the guide around Oxford was the highlight. Even though it was raining on us at this time, the guide (Robert?) did a great job of giving us the most important information. However, that also brought up the only suggestion I have for improvement: Robert needs to slow down his stride! My husband and I are fast walkers, so we kept up with him, but most of the group fell way behind, and possibly missed some of the talk. We had headphones on, but some of the group was probably out of range, or didn't know exactly which items the guide was referring to, since he was walking and pointing at the same time. Warwick castle was also a delight! (We did not pay for entry with our Viator tickets but bought them at the location.) Instead of paying for entry to Shakespeare's birthplace, we enjoyed wandering Stratford-upon-Avon, and buying some lunch. The rest of the group - with both paid entries - had little time to buy anything, including lunch. I'm not sure where the extra time went, but the bus had to skip driving through the Cotswolds to save time. Since it was raining all afternoon, this was just as well.

Ruined by Yakety Yak, Highly Political, Judgemental Tour Guude

We were sitting just behind the tour guide Karen who came across as rude when I just barely whispered to my mum to wear a mask as it was quite chilly in the bus and she announced on the Mic "Madam if you're going to talk you need to sit somewhere behind as I can't concentrate if you talk" Incredibly rude and ruined the mood and made us feel small. Then her vibe was a bit judgmental to those that didn't have admission tickets. We intact did have 2 for 1 admission tickets to Warwick castle at a much cheaper price which we had bought separately and both Mum and I've previously visited Stratford and Shakespeare's birthplace and home so didn't plan on visiting but just roaming around the town. She also discouraged my Mum from being part of the Oxford walking tour even though my mum at 77 was quite agile. She was also political with strong views on Camilla Parker Bowles (Some of us like her and are less judgemental!) Boris Johnson etc. She was also too full of herself yakety yak from her white dress, to her time in New York and blah blah blah. She also assumed everyone was a tourist. Some of us are local, citizens and home owners just in for a day out. Everything was tolerable but being told off on the Mic to shut up right at the start killed it for me.

The tour was nice, the guide was knowledgeable; however, the bus we were riding on AC system was not working. Please confirm the AC system is working before using. The bus was to capacity with tourist and the trip was approximately 10.5 hours traveling without AC. Very uncomfortable!!

It was a wonderful day trip!! 😊 Warwick was so beautiful! A little bit of a bus ride, but so worth it!! Our guude Mel was terrific! He was So knowledgeable, and very funny! We loved the town of Stratford on Avon! Got to shop at some nice clothing stores, bought a few things. Had lunch at a small greek place, gyros and fish and chips! Ate in the courtyard in the back. Very pretty and not crowded. Other restaurants were crowded and we had l and a half hours, which was fine but I shopped too long! 😁 Oxford was cool! So many beautiful buildings that were midevial. The whole town was really cool. We highly recommend this trip!!!

This is a great tour. Our tour guide, Simon, was excellent. He was funny with an acerbic wit and extremely knowledgeable, filling us in even during the coach ride with little details about the places we were passing. He described this tour and several others by Evan Evans tours as “Taste of England” tours - so you must understand that you’re not going to see, for example, all of Oxford on this tour. You’re just going to get a small taste of it in an hour or so. But the tastes of each of these locations were excellent, and we found that each stop provided just enough time to explore and enjoy them, if done with some haste. We of course didn’t get to see everything at every stop, but our approach was to see the major things at each stop, guided by Simon’s tour, and not allow ourselves to feel overly rushed. So we ended up enjoying ourselves immensely. The coach is very comfortable, but be warned that there are no bathrooms on the coaches. The longest of the drives on this tour is a little over two hours, so don’t have a lot to drink before starting out in the morning if you can’t hold it! All in all, we would do another tour from Evan Evans and from Simon. Everything was very well organized, and we felt like we were in good hands. I included some pictures of just a small sampling of some of the things we saw and enjoyed. Next time we visit, I am sure we will spend more time in Oxford! It’s a beautiful city.
