Eileen var en fantastisk reseguide. Hon bor i området och är mycket kunnig. Min familj och jag tog en rundtur på morgonen. Vi möttes med en croissant, från croissantbageriet nummer 1 i området. Vi tog sedan några turer i vackra traboules. Vi fick sedan prover på färskt och varmt brioche Aux pralinbröd. Utsökt. Vi åkte även till ett resmål där vi fick ostar och massor av viner. Så småningom på väg till lunch, där vi fick mycket vin och lokal mat. Sammantaget var maten, vinet, historien och reseguiden fantastisk. Fick mig att vilja stanna i stan några dagar till.

Stor historia av staden. Maten var fantastisk. Det var kul att äta lunch och prova alla "mystiska" rätter utan att veta vad allt var. Det fick oss att gå utanför vår box och prova nya saker. Allt som allt är det en fantastisk turné och Eilin är bäst. Skulle rekommendera denna turné till alla som besöker Lyon för första gången.

Underbart gästvänlig guide och exceptionellt kunnig om Lyons gastronomiska historia. Var ett bra sätt att prova en mängd Lyonnaise-materbjudanden i små portioner för att hitta det du gillar! Turnén hölls till en liten grupp vilket gjorde det mycket trevligt och avslappnat. Boka idag om du reser till Lyon!

Vi hade en underbar tid på Eillins vandrande mattur. Trots en grå och regnig dag såg Eillin till att vi hade roligt, åt och drack gott och lärde oss mycket om Lyon. Hennes kunskap om staden och dess historia är fantastisk. Vi hade redan provat ett par traditionella lokala rätter vid middagen kvällen innan, så hon var flexibel med planen för att säkerställa att vi fick prova nya och annorlunda föremål för att få den fullständiga Lyon-upplevelsen. Jag rekommenderar starkt hennes turné!

I loved starting the tour with the wonderful croissant. All of our guides choices were wonderful. The cheeses paired nicely with the wine. I especially enjoyed the historical information provided regarding Michelin and the passageways. The lunch was surprising, and even though I'm an adventurous eater, most of the choices were not particularly enjoyable, even though we didn't know what we were eating until afterwards.

Fantastic tour! Eillin is a wonderful guide with so much knowledge about Lyon! She provides the perfect mix of history, food and wine. I highly recommend this tour- we had a wonderful time!

Enjoyable tour, but too expensive

The tour itself was lovely. Knowledgeable guide who took the time to make sure all enjoyed their time with her. Good selection of food, although more dessert would have been nice (tiny confection only). My complaint about the tour is the price. Fifty percent higher than comparable tours. Only chose this one as the tour we were supposed to be one was canceled by the tour company at the last minute. This tour was the only one available the day before. Clearly the price is what would scare many away. Sadly, we had no choice.

I can understand your frustration but you always have a choice, and You knew the price of my tour before you signed up, as it is notified everywhere. This isn’t just a Food Tour but a full Cultural experience as well. And not like other tours, Wine is included in the rate, and a generous amount of quality wine and Food. We had a fantastic time on this food tour. We were the only ones who had signed up so we had Eillin all to ourselves. This is more than just a food tour though. The history that we learned about Lyon, its history with food, and the current area itself was worth the money alone. Can’t recommend this experience enough.

We enjoyed walking and experiencing all the history on Lyon, especially the traboules and their significance supporting the silk trade. Learned so much about the Michelin Stars awarded to restaurants. Loved tasting all the different food items especially wine and cheese at La Mere Richard and the chocolates at Voison Chocolate shop. The bochon restaurant was unique with delicious potatoes, meat, quennelles and wine. Eileen is extremely knowledgeable and would highly recommend her tour.

Wonderful experience. We visited the hidden parts of the city and were introduced to the main local delicacies. Some stuff we would never have dared to order so we emerged in new experiences thanks to the wonderful guide. It was a nice way to discover Lyon.

We wanted to experience Lyon the way the locals do - we’re glad that we had Eillin. She definitely delivered! She is an amazing guide, knowledgeable, professional and accommodating. Not only did we try a great cuisine, she provided us insights about the city , its history and culture. Walking through the traboules was a fascinating experience, the best addresses we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Go on an empty stomach ! Her choices of local foods, wines, cheeses and other specialties were excellent ! We really had a good time on this tour. At the end, we had a real appreciation of the city and it’s place in history. We felt like Eillin was a friend. This is a must-book food tour when visiting Lyon. We definitely recommend Eillin’s food tour to friends who are planning to visit Lyon. Thank You Eillin for making our trip memorable.

Eileen was the perfect guide. She was knowledgeable and tailored the specifics of our time together to match our interests. Plus the cheese, wine and food stops were fabulous. Our tour was a great introduction the food culture of Lyon.

Great tour, disappointing lunch only for those with adventurous stomachs

Eillin was an excellent guide for describing the history of Lyon and the food of the people and the city. She shared interesting stories about the origins of some French classics such as the croissant. The food she shared up to the final lunch was very good and authentic specialities of the city. For the lunch she took us to a traditional bouchon and insisted that we agree to her ordering “traditional” food to illustrate the history of people who originally eating at bouchons being the working poor who ate animals from the snout to the tail. She only told us what we had eaten (or in most cases did not eat and sometimes spit out) until after the meal was finished. The foods she ordered included cow snout, pig feet cartilage, tripe (cow stomach), blood sausage, and sausage made from pig esophagus. For us, that was a very poor ending for the otherwise excellent tour. We would have enjoyed the tour much more had Eillin allowed us to order more “normal” food for today’s tastes while she provided an opportunity for those with adventurous stomachs to try some of the historical foods. As it was, we essentially did not eat lunch. So, be forewarned that if you book this tour and agree to be “adventuresome” you too will be eating the foods mentioned above for lunch.
