Tja, detta var verkligen inte vad vi förväntade oss. Vi träffade Andrea som var väldigt trevlig och kunnig om stadens historia. Han gav till och med fantastiska insikter i några av stadsdelarna, vilket var intressant. Det var dock ingen planering inblandad och frågade oss till och med var och vad vi ville äta. Reseplatsen annonserade 6 - unika provningar, men vi smakade bara 3 - rätter på 2 - olika platser eftersom det är all budget som är tillåten... Om du inte har någonting om fransk mat kan det här hjälpa. Men om du är en foodie med viss kunskap kommer du att bli besviken...

Började sent och slutade tidigt. Kändes mer som en besvärlig dejt än en provsmakning av mattur.

Först ändrade vår guide, Anukool, mötesplatsen tre timmar före mötestiden och sa "På grund av de nuvarande butikernas stängningstider nära den nämnda mötesplatsen ville jag meddela dig om en förändring av mötesplatsen för turnén." ändrats från 112 Rue du Faubourg Saint - Antoine till 3 Pl. Saint Germain des Pres, en byte på 4 kilometer på vänster strand istället för höger. Sedan var han 15 minuter sen. Vi slutade gå till fem olika platser för våra "10 lokala mat- och dryckesprovningar" Det slutade ärligt talat som en besvärlig dejt med tre personer än en mattur. Anukool gav lite bakgrund om platserna vi besökte och deras betydelse men gjorde det när vi gick och eftersom vi var två på turnén, missade en av oss vanligtvis informationen eftersom vi inte kunde gå tre i jämnhöjd med de livliga gatorna. Stoppen var inte provsmakning så mycket som de var, "Här är ett välrecensat ställe, välj något att äta och jag köper det åt dig med din turnéavgift" Vi satt vid en creperie och åt, ja, en hel crepe vardera , inte precis en "provning." Vid två konfektyrstopp följde guiden just oss runt i butiken med en påsestund som vi plockade ut godsaker. På vår promenad runt passerade vi, och guiden berättade historien om, Marché Alimentaire Saint - Germains produktmarknad, som var öppen, men vi gick inte igenom den. Vilket kändes som ett stort missat tillfälle. På det sista stället beställde vi ett charkfat och vi avslutade med att lyssna på hans livshistoria istället för detaljer om matscenen i Paris. Han har tydligen varit reseledare i många år. Det kom inte fram. Turnén slutade 30 minuter för tidigt eftersom vi hamnade på den sista platsen tidigare än han planerat och han hade inga fler platser i rad att besöka. Vid den tidpunkten ville vi inte slösa mer tid så vi bad honom inte ta oss någon annanstans.

Jag ger denna turné en ogynnsam recension med en varning. Jag läste så många bra recensioner om reseguiderna och hur hjälpsamma och intressanta deras guider var. Så jag såg verkligen fram emot min turné. Jag planerade till en början just denna turné på grund av recensionerna men också för att utgångspunkten var nära hotellet som jag bodde på. Kvällen innan vår turné blev jag kontaktad av vår guide som frågade mig vart jag ville åka för min turné. Jag var lite förvirrad eftersom detta är min första gång i Paris, jag var inte bekant med något av områdena. Han gav mig några alternativ som inte gav mig någon värdefull information så jag föreslog att vi skulle träffas någonstans nära mitt hotell eftersom vi skulle gå. Jag nämnde också att jag var intresserad av Paris historia. Han kom med ett förslag på var han skulle träffas. Nästa morgon när jag pratade med min hotellconcierge sa de till mig att mötesplatsen var ganska långt borta och att vi skulle behöva en taxi. Så efter en taxiresa på 50 $ träffade vi vår guide som först informerade oss om att han inte var en "professionell guide" så vi måste låta honom veta vad vi ville se. Mina förväntningar kanske var för höga, men brukar man inte anlita någon för att visa intresseområden om man är turist? Om jag visste vad jag ville se skulle jag ha gjort turnén själv. Han informerade oss sedan om att vi behövde vara uppmärksamma på vår budget på 23 $ per person. Vi hade verkligen tillräckligt att äta för den tid på dagen som planerade vår turné men det verkade lite klibbigt att låta oss veta att vi hade en budget. Vi delade upp det mesta som vi köpte. Lite frukostgodis, varmt vin och en crepe så vi kunde hålla oss inom vår budget och kände för en brunchpromenad att vi hade nog att äta, men den guidade turen var mindre än intressant. Jag bör också nämna att vår guide var sjuk med förkylningssymptom och hostade och nysade över allt. Jag önskar nu att vi skulle ha avslutat turnén tidigt men jag fortsatte att hoppas att turnén skulle förbättras baserat på alla fantastiska recensioner. Jag kommer att säga att om vi skulle ha haft en mer "professionell (?)" reseguide kan vi ha haft en bättre upplevelse. Mitt lärande från den här turnén var att se om att begära en specifik guide innan bokning skulle vara ett alternativ för alla framtida turer som jag kan ta.

Reseguiden var över 15 minuter sen och jämfört med andra turer föll detta platt. För mina andra turer visste mina guider allt om maten och restaurangerna. På denna turné var det bara att gå till ett närliggande matställe och välja vad du vill äta samtidigt som du inte lärde dig något om maten eller restaurangen. Det finns bättre och billigare turer än så här.

Bra matprovningsupplevelse i Paris!!!

Vår familj hade en underbar upplevelse med vår guide. Vi hade ett stort utbud av livsmedel på marknaden eftersom vår guide beskrev Paris-kulturen för oss i termer av hur de såg på och närmade sig måltider och hur de skulle äta speciella sorters mat och hur det skiljer sig från vår kultur i USA. Vi provade sedan flera viner innan vi avslutade med öknar från 3 olika lokala matställen. Det var en härlig upplevelse och vi var väldigt hjälpsamma, tålmodiga och snälla hela tiden.

Vi kom sent till Paris och vår guide var tillmötesgående. Han var väldigt snäll och en bra samtalspartner. Detta var dock en mycket oorganiserad process. Jag förväntade mig att bli guidad och att det skulle finnas en resplan men istället fick vi en hel del tid på att bestämma vart vi skulle åka. Det var underväldigande.

The tour was personalized to our taste and Andrea was so knowledgeable about the neighborhood and where the best of the best was being sold. He had wonderful communication prior to our tour! Be sure to ask for him by name when you book!!!

Honestly, I am not one to write bad reviews but our tour guide didn’t plan at all. I booked this tour with the expectation of tasting some great French food, but we spent most of the time walking trying to figure out what to eat as it was so unplanned and I didn’t feel like it was worth the money paid for this tour. I hope that the tour company will ensure some plan from its guides. I felt like this tour would have been better if I had planned it myself and picked random places to try food.

This was the worst tour we have ever been on. Our guide had nothing prepared. We are from Canada and wanted to know all about the foods etc in Paris. Absolutely horrible. He asked us where we wanted to go and what we wanted to try. How on earth are we to know this. This is why we booked the tour. Never do this again!

We loved our food tour with Gelsomina- it was like meeting an old & a new friend! She catered the tour around our likes and dislikes and gave us a feel of what it’s like to live and eat as the locals do. We learned so much about not only food but about French culture- a great first tour if you are new to Paris!

Our guide, Zoltan, was superb! We loved the tastings in the market, and he helped us to select local/regional fare for a true French tasting experience. He even helped us toast and sing to my husband for his birthday! His background is extensive in travel and we enjoyed exchanging details of shared locations. His grasp of multiple languages is unbelievable! We would definitely ask for Zoltan to be our guide again!

We had an excellent time discovering the food of Paris with Nella. We left with full bellies and more Parisian food knowledge. We enjoyed eating at the market where as toursists, we would have otherwise felt unequipped to order. Everything we ate was delicious!

We loved everything about this tour. We tasted a variety of foods, both savory and sweet! The size of the tastings was perfect. We left the tour full but not stuffed, which was perfect. This tour was as much about the food as it was the history of the neighborhoods. Would highly recommend this tour for any foodies!

Really great tour. Nella was very knowledgable. Great to u fertile the tour in a lesser known area of Paris too in the market what was fantastic. We tried suchette, baguette, cheeses, pate, sausage, oysters. Quiche, crepe, wine and coffee. Thoroughly enjoyed all of the tastings really good tips on restaurants too, one of which we went to that evening. Fantastic.

Great tour, Maria our guide, was wonderful. Only problem, the meeting place was wrong on my confirmation, it took phone calls and text to finally find the guide who waited for us. Tour was great, food great, wine great, all in all a great afternoon.

The person who showed up was Gerard, not Jennifer. He was a very nice guy but this adventure needs a lot of work and we definitely did not get our money's worth. We paid 257US for 3 people and I expected this would be a tour of local restaurants and shops where we would try different foods and drinks that were their specialties. Instead we went to a market which was mostly closed for a holiday. We got a baguette, some fruits, sausages and cheeses. It was the kind of picnic I had with friends when I backpacked through Paris years ago. I expected much more. We couldn't wash the fruits because there was no water the grapes had a spider nest in them so we didn't eat them. Dessert was middle eastern pastries that were covered with bees or wasps. We left the food with Gerard because we had no place to refrigerate. This was very disappointing compared to foodie adventures we booked through other vendors. There were not 10 tastings and no place to eat. We ended up eating our picnic at a local café, but quite frankly we could have done this on our own and for a fraction of the price.
