Cozy Cabin oozed warmth and “aloha” in Yellowknife
JoyLynn_T, mars 2024
Tracy and her cozy cabin just oozed a genuine warmth! To start, her tour bus was the most comfortable one I had been in Yellowknife. Her chowder and bannock were delicious and she entertained us throughout the night with stories. She took her time and equally spoke with every individual guest all the while cooking and cleaning all at the same time. She was so organized, set everyone’s expectations on how picture taking was going to be once the aurora came out. She also provided ingredients for s’mores that you could make in the fire pit outside. There were a plethora of fur coats that you could try on and wear. She also briefly educated us on the indigenous people and the Yellowknife history. Honestly, even if I didn’t see the Aurora, it would have been a great time. The aurora was just the cherry on top to a wonderful night. I did this tour on the last night of my stay in Yellowknife. I was saving the best for last! Our tour was suppose to end at 2pm but the Aurora came out later in the night so she let us stay to watch for longer and we didn’t get back to the hotel until 3am. I highly recommend that you take Tracy’s tour. On the coldest of nights, a mom and her son from Hawaii could feel the “aloha” in Yellowknife.

Take this tour with Tracy
Shanea_W, mars 2024
Tonight (well last night now I suppose) we took the Cozy Cabin Tour with Tracy. When I tell you hospitality is real in Yellowknife I mean it wholeheartedly. We were picked up by Derek, our driver for the evening. And we picked up the other tour guests and made our way to the cozy cabin. Tracy prepared a midnight meal of fresh bannock (bread) and fish chowder. We dressed up in furs and Inuit coats She told us all about her life and life in Yellowknife. We especially enjoyed hearing about the common animals and the indigenous heritage of the region. We enjoyed hot chocolate around 1 am.. Then Ms. Aurora showed up and left us speechless. There truly are no words..

The best!
Lanie_C, mars 2024
Tracy is a great hostess! We did 3 different aurora excursions and hers was the best for environment and service. The small group atmosphere was much nicer than the “Disney” style of the big place. The traditional stew and bannock were delicious and included in the price. No up charge for taking photos of us with the auroras. The driver was very friendly and shared his experiences as an indigenous native of the area. This is just an all around good time!

Thank You Lanie, I enjoyed our time together. Tracy
Amazing!!
Josee_P, mars 2024
The whole experience was top notch! Tracy was a “superhost”! Great communication, punctual, and very friendly. She made a delicious fish chowder and bannock (type of bread) for the group around midnight and took multiple pictures of all guests when the auroras graced us with their presence. The light display was just amazing! We consider ourselves very lucky to have witnessed that. Even if we had not seen the auroras, we would have still enjoyed our night at the Cozy Cabin, so don’t hesitate to book with Tracy, and cross this off your Bucket List.

Great time watching the aurora at Cozy Cabin

Don’t take the tour with them
Cici_Z, jan. 2024
We were waiting for the host in the lobby and she didn’t see us. When we finally found each other, she said everyone was waiting for us. But we were in the lobby on time. We were late and there were a lot of people in the lobby so it’s hard to find her. When we got to the cabin, the driver and the host were only talking to certain people. They showed pictures to the other parties and ignored us. It seemed like we were penalized for being “late” and they didn’t even take pictures for me and my daughter.
Svar från värd, jan. 2024
I looked every where in the lobby. You were sitting on your phones when I found you. I am sorry, we never penalize guests for anything ever. You were advised in the welcome that we take pictures of all our guests. We ask everyone to line up as we take them. I am sorry you felt this way, but you seemed unhappy the moment we met. Just note we never ever single out, ignore any guests ever.

Aurora viewing at a lovely, warm cabin
Julie_O, dec. 2023
Although it’s tough to separate the tour experience from the extraordinary show Aurora put on for us, I give the tour top marks and recommend it highly. Tracy is a super host. Her cabin is comfortable and in a completely dark area. The friendly vibe that grows among the tour group is a wonderful bonus. The coat collection at the cabin is entertaining… and so comfortable in the cold night! And Tracy’s soup and bannock is delicious and welcome after time spent out in the cold. We enjoyed the tour very much; it is worth taking advantage of a guided tour to see Aurora. Plus, Aurora out in a show that exceeded my imagination!

Thank You, I agree guided tours all of them, offer more to the experience. Thank You for enjoying mine and your kind comments. Tracy
Aurora the dancing lady
Punon_P, dec. 2023
Tracy is the very nice and kind host. She is very knowledgeable giving us all the useful tips how to see and how to take a nice picture of the lady aurora. More importantly we were able to see the dancing lady all over the sky for almost the entire night due to the great location of her cabin. This also allow us to see the aurora while having a nice and warm place to chill out. Tracy is also a great chef. Her fish chowder and hot chocolate are another highlight of our trip.
Svar från värd, dec. 2023
Yes! we got so lucky, she danced for us. Chef may be a stretch, but appreciate your very kind words. Thank You Tracy
Best Yellowknife experience!
Kumarika_M, dec. 2023
My friend and I booked this experience without having done any prior research . We planed to spend three nights at Yellowknife so we thought we'd just see how it goes in the first night. As it turned out, this is probably one of the most memorable experiences we have had. Tracy, the tour lady, could not be any better. She is very informative and she'd go above and beyond to make sure you have the best Yellowknife experience. Her cabin was too cute and cozy, equipped with things to keep you warm- fur- hot beverage- fireplace. She prepared us tradition fish soup and biscuits which was like the cherry on top of the whole experience. We were lucky to see the aurora on that night and it was way more magnificent than we imagined. But the best part of the tour is Tracy :) thank you! If you are thinking about another way to experience the aurora- look no further! :)

Five Stars and the best tour we had in Yellowknife - don't miss it!!
Dave, feb. 2023
Tracy was a fantastic host! First class operation, super nice transportation, great tour guide, well furnished, nicely heated, and well stocked cabin, plus a well lit outhouse! Tracy also served a great chowder made with local fish and served with traditional Bannock (bread). Her collection of tea pots, furs, and other local items added to a great evening. Tracy was very engaging, and genuinely excited to enhance your Yellowknife experience!

Great adventure...nurture, nature and northern experience...Triple N
Douglas, feb. 2020
We spent a memorable evening with Tracy (aka Cozy Cabin) last week...(February 11th, 2020). We were a group of 11 people and the experience was wonderful. Firstly, Tracy is super easy to deal with over the phone and she is very committed to providing everyone with a first class experience. We spoke a handful of times and she was able to accommodate every request, had an answer to every question and she made a number of useful suggestions. The activity itself was the highlight of our group's Yellowknife/Northern experience. Everything went exactly as planned and when dealing with a big group...no surprises it a much desired benefit. While the experience is not the cheapest available, I can state with absolute certainty that everyone felt that it was excellent value and there were no complaints at the end of the night. I am pleased to report that we all left with big smiles, full bellies and lots of tales and laughter. The cabin itself is accurately described as 'cozy' and a bit crappy...but oddly that only adds to the ambience and experience. It is EXACTLY what it should be and it operates as a bit of a 'time machine' in transporting you to a different era when life was a bit harder and people just a bit tougher. Tracy has a decorated that cabin with rustic reminders of an earlier time, a few stuffed foxes and some traditional outer wear. The cabin was nicely warm on a VERY cold night (-45C) and a welcome reprive from the time spent outside. There is an outhouse that saw considerable use with a group this big and I can assure you that it was a much desired feature when I was organizing our group. (Again, no complaints from anyone in this regard.) Tracy is a very engaging individual and she is well suited to the role she plays during the evening. It is a combination of her very folksy mannerisms, her comfortable hospitality and the absolute beauty of the environment that make it such a pleasant and memorable outing. She made everyone feel both welcome and special, asking just enough question to learn about us but without being intrusive. She was very generous in sharing information and stories and responded to questions with an ease and confidence of a politician (despite declaring herself as apolitical...) She is a bit of a 'character' but I mean that in only the best way possible. The cabin is rustic, the wilderness is rustic and the food is rustic....but that does not mean that it is not delicious. She prepares a hearty fish stew and a traditional bannock that is both extremely tasty but that also fills the cabin with an aroma of fresh food being prepared on the hearth. I do not even like fish stew and this midnight meal was simply amazing and just perfect when you come in from the cold. The Bannock is much like a scone and with fresh butter and some high quality jams and spreads, it was most civilized. While we knew that there would be food, the high quality and taste explosions was just another unexpected treat. Thanks so much for the food, it was really wonderful. The Northern lights eventually came out and danced a wee bit for us, but I am confident in saying that this was just an added plus and that the evening was not dependent upon her making an appearance. It was cool yes and Tracy was really concerned about it (not surprising as she is really invested in creating a positive experience for the group), but it would have been a success with or without the lights. I should also comment on the photographer that joined our group. She is a quite and soft spoken but quite skilled in her know how and more than willing to share tips and tricks to other photographers in the group. I am something of an photography enthusiast and it was evident that she knew her way around a camera and is about as close as one can come to being a professional while still having a full-time job doing something else. We had a group shot taken outside and the results are quite remarkable in rather taxing conditions. A short note regarding the weather in February...IT IS REALLY COLD...We were all Canadians and we know cold but this was at another level. We were all well layered and dressed with the correct gear but any exposed skin or substandard gloves/boots were subject to getting cold fast. Part of the experience was enduring the conditions but it was mighty frosty. On the way home we all learned about 'ice fog' -- whole new experience. Nuff' said but do not underestimate mother nature. To make a long story short (clearly too late for that)...you should not hesitate or feel anxious about booking an excursion with Tracy or Cozy Cabin. It is a first class operation and quite worth the effort to avoid the more commercial and 'factory' designed tours that do their best to accommodate dozens and dozens of visitors every night. With Cozy Cabins, you will feel special and cared for and not just another fee-paying customer on some sort of assembly line. Thanks for a great night, lots of wonderful memories and a terrific group experience. It could not have been better and I am so glad I took a chance and made the effort to book with you. Well done Tracy and I wish you all the success possible in the future. Seeing as it took me 54 years to make it to Yellowknife, this was probably my first and last visit but you went along way to making it memorable in all the best ways. Doug - Ottawa
