What To Expect
After pickup from your Abu Dhabi hotel, settle inside your climate-controlled vehicle and set off on your 4-hour tour.
Learn how Abu Dhabi grew into today’s metropolis following the mid-20th-century oil boom, and how it consists of skyscrapers, mosques, and malls set on an island and riveria-like breakwaters.
Visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the city’s showpiece and world’s third-largest mosque. Adorned with intricate Islamic art and carvings, this marble-clad mosque opened in 2007. Admire the marble domes and courtyards, and view the main prayer hall, graced with giant chandeliers and the world’s biggest handmade carpet.
Take photos by the Emirates Palace hotel, and visit the Heritage Village, a recreation of a traditional oasis settlement. Browse the craft workshops and souk, and see displays of Bedouin tents and falaj irrigation channels.
After driving along the Corniche past mosques and glass high-rises, stop to admire the city’s magnificent skyline from the end of the breakwater.
Finally, take a panoramic drive around Sadiyat Island, home to a dazzling new cultural district. Admire the still-under-construction futuristic landmarks including the Louvre and Guggenheim museums, both designed to cement the city’s position as a major cultural destination.

- The Sheikh Zayed mosque in Abu Dhabi is open to visitors between 8.30am and 11:30am, Sunday to Thursday.
- Ladies visiting the Mosque are required to cover their head with scarf and do not wear shorts, beachwear or sleeveless outfits as they are to be fully covered.

We booked this tour as we had one day in Abu Dhabi. You are mostly on a bus passing by the sites, you do get just enough time at the Mosque to quickly walk through it. You see the Grand Palace from across the water, would have been nice to actually go inside instead of the two tourist shop stops at the date market and especially at the tourist expensive shop that you sell as a visit to a typical home. It was a home they sold all kinds of tourist items in as if they where on display at a home but for 4 x the price of a the souk. A visit to a souk would have been nice as well. The tour ended at the heritage museum which really is a waste of time, the country is only 52 years old and very modern so you can read about the old fishing village in about 10 mutes. If you want to see (from a distance) Abu Dhabi in a day on a bus then purchase this tour.

Excellent trip we had a brilliant guide and he taught us a lot about Abu Dhabi the highlight was the visit to the Grand shiayiq Mosque it was so beautiful, but just be warned about your clothing I put on a long skirt to the ankle and a long sleeved blouse, but when the driver arrived at our hotel to pick us up he said I would need to cover my ankles with socks and also wear a shirt or cardigan that was not see through what so ever, so I had to wear my husbands socks and one of his shirts what a silly sight I looked, luckily I had taken a big scarf to cover my head and shoulders.

The tour wasnt worth the time or money. Being a Friday the itinerary was different than other days and very limited, Grand Mosque was beautiful and i am glad i visited. Tour leader was just average. Best thing about the afternoon was the air con in the mini bus. Either choose another day or dont bother with this trip. Unfortunately we had limited time in Aby Dhabi

Really good tour. Our guide was great and offered us an alternative place of interest when one of the sites was closed for a public holiday. Also took us to the date markets on the way back to our hotel.

Viator clearly doesn't vet the tour companies, at least in Abu Dhabi. Our guide was an hour late, looked like a homeless person wandering into our hotel lobby, had an unmarked van, wore clothes that were not professional, didn't know much about the history of Abu Dhabi, and sat in the front passenger seat and talked to the window the entire time which made it difficult for the two of us in the back to hear. He and the driver were nice pleasant fellows, but did not meet the quality standards that one might expect from a Viator tour. Two stars because they were nice guys, but really should not be in the tour business.
