Appropriate clothing for everyone is required to enter the monasteries. For ladies skirts by the knee or longer are required. No pants for ladies, no shorts, no sleeveless shirt. For men sleeveless clothing and shorts over the knee are prohibited.
Please make sure you have cash for the monasteries 3 euro each entrance. There is no ATM machine in the area.
Lunch: The lunch includes a main dish, an atomic salad, bread & water. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

-they knew months ahead of time that the train wouldn’t run but didn’t tell us, which felt a little like bait-and-switch marketing -the bus was very small and was really uncomfortable for tall people (our group ranged from 5'7'' to 6'4'') -really nice and enthusiastic tour guide, but not a ton of info provided -nice timing to have the sunset view -not quite as “wow” as we had expected based on other reviews, but very pretty and cool

Firstly let’s talk about the initial bus ride to get to Meteora - 2 hours then a rest stop then another 2 hours - and to do it again to return back to Athens so 8 hours on a bus, and of course add another 5 hours driving around the Monasteries… I won’t lie it is a long long day on the bus and you are very tired so be prepared…. But was it worth it - Definitely!, definitely!!, Meteora will absolutely blow you away with the amazing scenery, history and spectacular views.. . And IF you are lucky enough to have Nancy to show you around You are in for a real special day.. OMG our guide Nancy was amazing, so knowledgeable, passionate and took the time to showcase this amazing area beyond our expectations. Nancy really made our experience she showed us everything and explained it all… we had a fantastic day and A Big thank you to Nancy …. Definitely do this tour with this company it was ran really well and a great experience had by all

Metora was spectacular, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. The stop for refreshments left a lot to be desired. The food offering was subpar.

First of all, to be clear, Meteora is incredible and a must-see for anyone exploring Greece. The monasteries were beautiful and it was great to be able to visit multiple and see the views and history associated with each. The tour package, on the other hand, was quite average. Our tour group ended up with Meteora Thrones. The bus ride was not very comfortable. I'd compare it best to a 4 hour, full-occupancy airplane ride in economy class with no reserved seating. There was little to no airflow from the fans, which made most of the ride in both directions uncomfortably hot. (I can't imagine how it is in the heat of summer) The quality of the "included meal" with the tour was comparable to a school lunch, and was served quite similarly. There was very little time to eat before being rushed onto a different, smaller bus with tour guides in order to go and see Meteora itself. The tour guide and 2nd bus were fine enough, though the guide did seem stressed the whole time. My husband and I honestly hated everything about the trip EXCEPT for when we were outside the buses alone and walking through Meteora/the monasteries themselves. The main reason I give 4 stars instead of a 1 or 2 is that a) seeing Meteora in a single day from Athens would be nearly impossible without this tour package, and b) this was our first-ever group tour experience; perhaps they are all this disappointing. TL;DR: Meteora is great. This tour takes you to Meteora. Don't have any high expectations beyond that.

amazing experience at Meteora

I was on the English speaking trip with Clement from Canada as our guide. Very knowledgeable with many collateral prepared shared in the the bus to allow us have a better appreciation of the beauty of Meteora. Time management was so good that he was even to fit in extra spots not on the original itinerary. Bus ride is a bit long so be prepared for that.

A good tour, full day just to need better meals was to simple to be a Greece cruisine as advertising for people choose with lunch and the guide need to be with the turists and explain about the inside the monasteries to get the full picture , very sure can be improved, this Web is a good a easy to search.

Amazing. Our tour guide was amazing- lots of interesting history. Our bus driver was an amazing help with photos. The monostaries were amazing. Photos cannot do them justice- they were such an awesome sight. Please don’t miss - the ride is long, but worth it.

It was a great trip! The bus rides were long, but only because Meteora is far hahaha they were comfortable with wifi and made enjoyable by the staff. Maria was our tour guide and she is the best! Good tour ruined by poor transport

The bus from Athens had to stop four times due to issues with the electrics. This meant we were late arriving to Meteora and therefore were unable to enter the main monastery as it had already shut. The second, smaller bus - which they take you around the actual tour on - had significant leaks coming from the sun roof. Not really great if you're getting wet whilst sat in your seat. The lady who led the tour was great and the drivers were all very friendly. In normal conditions, it'd be a good tour, but unfortunately that wasn't my experience.

A breathtaking and a once in a lifetime tour experience in Greece!! Highly recommend booking a Meteora through Meteora Thrones! They were very professional and friendly and made sure we saw the most beautiful sites in Meteora! Our Meteora tour guide did an amazing job explaining the history and culture behind the monasteries and the cliffs in the area! This was my favorite tour in our entire Greece visit!! Hello everybody. Meteora was amazing place. It is far away from Athens, so the way took aproximately 8-9 hours for two way. The trip in this place was so funny and so instructive. Espacially our guide who name is Clementin(hope I spelled correct) from Canada was great guide for us. He knew about Metora’s history very well and told us very clearly in English. I want to thank to him from here too. Finally I can say it was tiring but worth it.

Highlight of my trip to Greece

This was easily my favourite part of my 7 day Greece trip! Although the trip there and back is very long, it is very worth it. Meteora is unlike anything I've ever seen before (which is why for me I chose it over Delphi), and our tour guide Clement was very attentive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging. It was great to be able to go inside the monasteries, as well as stop off at great viewing points to see most of the monasteries and rocks from a distance. The bus was very comfortable, and the pit stops were well timed with a lot of options. I opted for the lunch included option, which I highly recommend. There's great choice and the food was tasty. You get a Greek salad, a drink and a choice of hot meal options. And it works out cheaper to get the lunch included optin. Dinner was not included, but we did have a 30 min break on the way back, and for essentially the same meal I paid €17.
