Overview

Take a break from busy Auckland City and head to the countryside for a wine-tasting tour in Kumeu. Visit a couple of wineries in the wine region, where you can sample wine over lunch. Everyone in your group can enjoy a drink as you won’t have to drive yourself. After, head to nearby Muriwai, where you can visit the gannet colony beside the rugged beach before your return trip.

    Get Jose as your guide and it will guarantee you a great experience

    We had Jose (female, pronounced like the Dutch would say) as a guide and it was the most delightful experience. She made the whole trip wonderful for my sister and me. The three wineries got better and better and lunch at Westbrook winery was relaxing and delicious. But the highlight of our trip was a stop at the beach. We took plenty of photos (thank you Jose), walked the black sand and collected sea shells. Of all the tours we have taken to date on our long trip, this was by far the best. Jose is wonderful!

    Jose Webster was our fantastic tour guide. She also made a special stop for us. We visited 3 wineries for tastings and had a great lunch at Westbrook winery. Happy we happened to have a friendly group of people on our tour.

    Fun little tour. Jose was fun, personable and informative. The Pinot Noir from Soljan Estate Winery is amazing and Tyler our host was wonderful. I like the fact that no matter how many or few participants, they run the tour anyway. We had a private tour! Loved it!

    Our guide Peter was the best. He was informative and not intrusive. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy the wineries and his choice of a lunch venue was spot on. We would definitely recommend his tour to anyone who wants to visit some top quality wineries.

    Great service. Driver did a great job. Very knowledgeable of all the areas we visited. Wineries were all good stops. Enjoyed meeting all the wineries managers or owners. Black sand beach was a treat.

    Worthwhile tour

    We thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour. Jose was very pleasant and accommodating. She picked us up on time at our hotel, stopped at the black sand beach, where the surfers come, and where the Gannets come to breed each year, as a stop along the way. The Soljens family winery and Westbrook Winery were great. We were not as impressed with the Kumeu Village Winery.

    What a wonderful wine tasting experience we had on Sunday with Coast to Coast representative Jose!!! She was delightful, knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. We visited three impressive wineries and received a lot of local information on the areas we visited. Would highly recommend this excursion to all who consider it!
