What To Expect

Your dinner cruise begins at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour, where an expert captain welcomes you aboard the 50-foot (15-meter) sailing yacht. After a safety briefing, set sail across the waters of Waitemata Harbour, gliding past waterfront highlights including Auckland Harbour Bridge, the Ferry Building and the iconic Sky Tower—New Zealand’s tallest building.

Your captain points out the sights that you pass, such as the volcanic cone of Mt. Eden, which hovers on the outskirts of the city. Hear live commentary about the national pastime of sailing, including the hosting of the America’s Cup. If you’d like, you can assist the crew to hoist the sails or try your hand at steering the boat. Or simply enjoy the breeze and relax with a drink, purchased from the sailboat’s bar.

While you sail, take a seat in the dining room for a 3-course dinner. Afterward, savor the city views as Auckland illuminates in the evening light of dusk.

After your cruise, your tour ends back at Viaduct Harbour.

We had a wonderful evening on the dinner cruise. The staff was friendly and helped make a group of strangers feel comfortable together and after dinner we were a group of friendly travelers for an evening in the Harbour. The food was delicious and the view gorgeous.

Skipper and staff were friendly and helpful, sunset and moonrise were gorgeous, weather was wonderful. it's a touristy thing to do but we enjoyed it and felt it was worthwhile. Dinner was not a highlight but it was nice enough and the overall experience was very pleasant.

We were a little apprehensive about taking this tour on a sail boat but even with a little wind it was amazing! My wife doesn’t do well with motion but absolutely no problem. The food and drinks were good, the view was stunning and the sunset magnificent! We had a fun bunch of people who made it better. The crew were very attentive to your every need!

Captain and crew kept us entertained with music, laughter and serving us great beverages and delicious food. A very friendly crew to spend the evening with! The evening was perfect with great weather and a beautiful sunset! And blankets were very much appreciated as the temperatures got a bit cooler!

This evening sailboat cruise was relaxing, gave us a great view of the harbor, and let us meet some great people. The captain is very experienced and spent time going over passenger safety before we motored out of the dock, then put the sails up to enjoy real sailing. The meals are mediocre and served in bowls, as it is hard to eat without a table in front of you. There are tables below deck, but noone wanted to leave the beauty and light breeze of the main deck. I note the bowls because it might be harder to eat a steak entree. The price of this little adventure is well worth the views and ability to get out of the city for a couple hours. Even if they did not have a meal, this trip would be worth it!

The captain and crew did a great job. Beautiful sunset! The one thing i would change is make the meal small bites only with extra drink included and not do the formal meal. It was awkward to eat on deck without tables. Eating below deck didn't seem like a good option with no windows.

I celebrated my 40th alongside my husband and 2 kids and I can say they enjoyed the entire time. Sailing on the auckland waters under the bridge especially in the amazing weather was picture perfect for us. The food was on point and the service was awesome as well.
