What To Expect

Make your own way to meet your guide at the concierge desk at the Hilton Austin, then set out in a deluxe van to discover live music in downtown Austin.

Expect to visit two or three venues to hear live music and learn about the city of Austin. Your guide shares tips on some of the best places among the 270 live music venues in the city. Also, hear stories about the city's history and notable characters who have lived there over the years.

Please check in with the Austin Detours tour guide by 7:45 pm in front of the concierge desk of the Hilton Austin Hotel, located at 500 E. 4th St.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 10 travelers

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

Great Tour

This tour was such a blast. Our tour guide was Ike and Brent was our driver. They helped us to sample everything from 80's rock to country to blues in small, intimate clubs we would never have found on our own. This is a great way to experience a bit of the Austin Music Scene.

Our guide Ike and our driver Brent were personable and fun. Ike is a musician and shared lots of Austin music scene stories about the performers and places we visited. The trip was well-organized - we visited 3 different types of venues with 3 different types of music. Very enjoyable!

Ike had methodically planned our evening by selecting three totally different venues, three totally different performances, and backed up each venue and performer with interesting narratives. It is obvious that he is part of the Austin music culture which lent to the tour’s authenticity! Great choice! First time visit to Austin & solo traveller but really wanted to see some live music & nightlife. Jax & Brent were very friendly & knowledgeable- venues chosen quality & fun. They were super inclusive & it was a safe way to get a taste of the music scene. Highly recommend if a solo traveler and if you have a full group it’s a no brainer good time. By far the best part of our Austin trip. Many thanks to Kelty for sharing her music passion with us and for van captain Brent carefully helping my wife on and off the van. We are in our 70's but had a ball with a group of fellow music lovers of all ages - our favs were the blues and soul visits. I even tried a bit of texas two step at the honky tonk!

We arrived in Austin earlier in the day and had booked this as our first thing! Easy to meet up with the group and be driven to three great venues - lol low effort and high payoff. Hosts would share about each place on the way, and their goal was met: we got to really experience three very different venues and bands. We'd highly recommend this tour!

This was fabulous! I was most impressed that even though I was the only one signed up for the tour, it didn’t get canceled. I had a great guide and driver who took very good care of me. I enjoyed seeing 3 very different samplings of the Austin live music scene. I was only a fan of one of the three bands…but it was interesting seeing the other side of musical genres live music.
