What To Expect

Make your own way to La Pedrera on the evening of your experience. Before stepping inside, admire the modernist magnificent of one of Antoni Gaudi’s most controversial and colossal structures. Appreciate the magical atmosphere bestowed by the cover of darkness as you enter the structure and head for the inner courtyard of Passeig de Gracia; note how the audiovisuals emphasize the enchanting surroundings then ascend a level to explore the exhibitions of a museum dedicated to the architect.

Rise to the roof terrace in order to enjoy a spectacular show that combines innovative design, special effects and hypnotic projections. Marvel as an unearthly display of light and images is projected onto the spiraling chimneys of the terrace, making them appear like striped candy canes. Tour started early - Beware!

We showed up 20 minutes early to make sure we weren’t late for our La Pedrera night tour. The woman outside said we couldn’t be admitted until five minutes before our 8:40pm tour. We understand we needed to wait and did so patiently. At 8:35 we returned to the entrance and were promptly admitted. The security screening inside was fast and efficient. However, to our surprise the tour guide started the tour with the others member's who were admitted early. This really upset me as we missed the background information. I equate it to reading a book with the first few pages missing or missing the opening scene of a movie. There needs to be better communication between the outside ticket scanners and the guide inside. Last night, this was not the case, and it made the tour less enjoyable. Additionally, the tour was quite crowded and it was challenging to get close enough to the guide yo hear her well enough. Fewer people would have helped a lot.

Fun, worth doing at least once

The tour was fun! Would I do it again? Probably not. It’s definitely worth doing at least once. The tour starts in the front patio area and you get to learn the history of the house. You have the option to go up an elevator or a lot of stairs so be prepared. The light show at the top was cool especially after understanding the symbolism of the architecture at the top. At the end you get a glass of champagne, OJ or water which was nice. Overall it was a cool experience but I probably wouldn’t do it again, definitely a one time experience

Choose Day tour instead of Night Experience

We were disappointed with La Pedrera Night Experience. The light show on the rooftop was not worth it. We were a group of 3 adults and found it boring. Maybe little kids would appreciate the show more. Wish we had booked one of the Day tours instead and there were several to choose from in the official website lapedrera.com. I think any one of the day tours would be better. La Pedrera is worth seeing but we just do not recommend the Night Experience. If you are choosing between Casa Batllo and La Pedrera, we recommend going to Casa Batllo if you can't go to both. Casa Batllo is more impressive.

I took a guided tour. The guide gave us great historical information. Seeing the amazing architecture was the highlight. The roof with all the decorative architecture (chimneys and ventilation) was amazing. The nighttime visual presentation was good.

If you’re looking to see more of Gaudi’s works, stay away from this tour. We saw very little of the Padrera, with the exception of the rooftop. The light show was nice, but it was too dark to explore after it was over. We walked up and down 7 flights of stairs to get there. Definitely not worth the money.
