What To Expect

After morning pickup at your Barcelona accommodation, drive past several of Gaudi's buildings on your way out of town. You'll travel with your guide to reach the colorful city of Girona. During the drive, learn about Girona’s long and rich history, from its ancient Roman roots through its thriving medieval era and evolution into a hip, modern Spanish city.

When you arrive, explore the Old Town on a walking tour that takes you past landmarks like the Girona Cathedral and an iron bridge designed by famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel. Get a sense of life in medieval Spain while wandering through the city’s labyrinthine Jewish quarter, and rest your feet over a cup of coffee in a charming cafe.

Continue on to the small town of Figueres, located near the French border. Best known as the birthplace of surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, Figueres honors the legacy of its famous former resident with the Dalí Museum—designed by the artist himself and considered the world’s largest surrealist object. Explore Dalí’s life and work through the museum’s collection of his dimension-bending paintings and other original artifacts (entrance fee not included).

Relax on the return drive through the countryside to Barcelona, where the tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point in the evening.

Great Tour

An excellent tourvofvyhe museum. Our guide provided explanations on everything we were seeing. Even during the drive, he gave us a history of Catalonia and Spain.
Well rounded trip

Girona sights were quite informative , Dali museum was fascinating, guide had good explanations, we stood for quite a while
Great day tour
Jodi_B, May 2024
We had a great time on this day experience. Our guide, Matt, was lovely and knowledgeable, and we loved Girona! What a great city, we could definitely have spent more time there. The Dali museum is really great and our guide helped to identify the most interesting and important pieces. It would have been a lesser experience without him.
Good

Dali Museum and our guide did a good job. I don’t like being forced to say a certain amount of words.
Reckless driving
John_Z, May 2024
Driver went WAY too fast on highway, swerving in and out of traffic in a van. Very uncomfortable. The tour itself was enjoyable but take a hard pass if guide is Marcelo.
A wonderful tour with Matt
DouglasE_K, May 2024
Matt was a great tour guide, the stops at Girona and Figueres along the way were very informative. His take on Dali's work was second to none.
Okay for just transportation
Todd_S, May 2024
Driver and guide was rude when he picked me up and not very friendly all day. Provided transportation but not a lot more. The exception was Dali museum where he seemed very passionate and provided interesting insight and biography
Fabulous 5 star tour

Luis was a great guide!! Told us things we would have never known on our own!! Girona was fabulous and the Dali was incredible! He had so many interesting facts that made the tour!! I would highly recommend this tour!!
Don’t miss this tour!

You cannot come to Spain and not do this trip! A highlight for us, we saw an amazing medieval town and ended with a delight dive into Dali. Our guide Ventura knew a lot and filled us in on many tidbits
This is exceptional. Period.

Luis, drives you in a comfortable ride, first to Girona, where you walk around the most delightful ancient city that include old Roman Walls, Jewish neighborhoods, Medieval Architecture and delightful shops and cafes. He'll also show you a couple of Game of Thrones settings here. I signed up for the Dali Museum as I'm a fan, but this part of the tour should not be discounted. In fact, I'm now thinking about going back and staying in Girona for a few days. I really enjoyed it. Luis also allows you some free time to go do your own perusing, but he keeps you on track time-wise and is an expert at moving it along without feeling rushed. He also insisted we try this delightful Girona pastry called a Xuixo. I'm dreaming about it as I write this review. OMG. After Girona, Luis drives you to Figueres, for lunch and then the Dali Museum. Luis suggested an Italian Restaurant that I thought was absolutely delicious. I try to eat healthily and the salad I got was both healthy and beautiful and filling and amazing. Everyone in our group(who were all just wonderful people) seemed to enjoy their impressive dishes. The restaurant is almost next door to the museum, so it was an easy transition. The Dali Museum was mind-blowing and would be without a guide, but Luis took it to another level. He is passionate about Dali and he is great at what he does. His unique insight was worth every penny and then some. I won't spoil the surprises he will unveil, but I was beyond impressed. In fact, Luis is so magnetic and knowledgable and passionate about what he does, those who were not on our tour could not help but be drawn into his magical revelations. I am not a person who generally relies on tours etc, but i will say this was exceptional in every way and has given me a new perspective on what a genuinely well done tour can be. So appreciative to Luis.
Great tour

Terrific tour to Girona and the Dali Museum today. I was kept up to date prior to the tour. Pickup was as promised. Gaspar was fantastic! He is extremely knowledgeable and provided in depth information on Dali’s life and work. Gaspar brought the Dali museum to life with his insights and made it a great experience. Great group that got along well.
Nice experience

It was a nice way to get out and see the countryside and experience a medieval city. Really enjoyed the museum.
Well done Anatoli!
David_K, Apr 2024
We enjoyed the enthusiasm, level of detail and knowledge of Anatoli. He adjusted well due to the weather and personalized the experience for our group. Highly recommended!
Great day; great tour guide
Sallie_S, Apr 2024
Luis was the consummate professional on this tour. It is all in the details: he clearly watched out that we all were taken care of at the restaurant for lunch, then, as it was St. Jordi Day, accompanied us on the trams back to the stops closest to our hotels (he couldn't drive to the hotels due to road closings). His love of Dali was so clear, as he took us on the tour of the museum. Very lovely day.
Girona and Dali, worth it!
Raquel_R, Apr 2024
Luis is a great guide! His expertise on the subject helps you understand everything in a better light. Girona’s Jewish quarter and museum is very interesting. Dali and it’s museum is not to be missed.
Highly recommend this tour
Jennifer_K, Apr 2024
Gasper, our tour guide, provided a wonderful tour of both Girona and the Dali Museum. Pick up was exactly on time. He made us feel very taken care of for the day. Very comfortable van ride each way. Gasper's knowledge of the history of Girona as well as Dali was way above any expectation. His expertise may be unmatched and his ability to keep us engaged with so many interesting stories made this trip so memorable.
Learn new insights into Dali
