We had an amazing day filled with lots of history, color and yummy treats! Our tour guide Dave was amazing and took us to some unique little places on our day with him! It was an enjoyable experience! This was our 2nd tour with them! We did Martha’s Vineyard too and it was as enjoyable! We loved our tour guide Jenny on that tour!!! Highly recommend!

    Bad experience

I called the tour operator to specifically ask how long was the stop at Wayside inn Grist mill and lied to me and said 30 minutes when in reality Lucia only gave us 10 minutes. She also only gave us 2 hours at old Sturbridge village when the itinerary specifically said 3 hours. Lucia was very annoying on the way back home and she kept ranting about the traffic. I wouldn’t recommend this tour since they give false information and don’t care about the consequences.
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Your review is not factual. You actually spent 45 minutes at the Wayside Inn and 15 minutes at the Grist Mill. I'm not sure what your problem was with Lucia but it's fairly obvious that it was personal. Most of our guests rave about what a great guide that she is. The only false information is from your review. Sincerely, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
    Nice but better food.
    Roberta_R, Oct 2023
Nice tour. Two issues. The bus was very rough and bumpy and there were not very good restaurant choices. Tour guide was great and attentive and knowledgeable.
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for your 4 Star review of our New England Fall Foliage and Historty Tour. The bus that you were on is a 2022 mini-coach bus with low mileage.. Some of the roads on that tour are very bumpy. Remember It is a bus. The lunch option at Sturbridge Village is what we need to do to fit in all the stops included on this trip. Thanks for your feedback. Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
    Wonderful tour
    allen_b, Oct 2023
Enjoyed seeing the small New England homes and towns along the major sites. Lucia was a great driver and guide.

Thank you for your WONDERFUL 5 Star review of our New England Fall Foliage and History Tour from Boston. I am glad that you enjoyed your time with Lucia. Thank you for sharing your 5 Star experience! Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
Beautiful scenery but two distinct tours
    Jaime_C, Oct 2023
The first half of the tour was ideal for couples/adults looking for beautiful vistas and bucolic scenery. The second half was ideal for families with small children. But unless you’re watching children/grandchildren enjoying the period themed sites, the second half of the day feels more like being caught in a tourist trap. I would give 5 stars to each half of the day, if they were distinct, separate tours.
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for the review. We do cover alot on this trip. The one theme is "history of the area." I know it's your review and you can write whatever you want, but....How do two 5 Star tours = a 3?? Hmmmmm.... Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
    Boston in the Fall 2023
    Susan_D, Oct 2023
We travelled on Wednesday 25th October. Lucia was a great host. The pick-up was easy and very close to our hotel which was handy. There were plenty of stops and luckily everyone was good at keeping to time which was great. The weather was beautiful for October and we had great views of the fall, which was the main reason for the trip. We had 18 on our trip which was a good number. Lucia provided snacks and bottles of water too. I would recommend this trip if you don’t have a car in Boston and want to get out and see the local countryside and learn a bit about the history.

    Overall this trip was...
    Kelly_B, Oct 2023
Overall this trip was fantastic! We met great people, had beautiful scenery & enjoyed learning all the history! Our guide was wonderful! Only thing that would have made the trip quite a bit better & why it didn't get 5 stars, would be needed upgrades on the bus! The seats were not very comfortable. Too much of the ride was very rough!! Every bump in the road felt like we'd hit a boulder.
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for this FANTASTIC 4 Star review of our New England Fall Foliage and History tour from Boston. I am happy to hear what a wonderful day that you had. The bus you were on is a 2023 with 16K miles on it. I am not sure what else we can do but supply our guests with a mostly brand new fleet of buses. The bus may just be a little stiff and not broken in yet. Thanks for sharing! Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
    Very enjoyable day!

Enjoyed the trip. Lucia was a very knowledgeable. Many interesting stops and we saw great fall foliage. The timing was good also. Only spent two hours in Sturbridge village, so we were able to enjoy the last stop on the Apple farm. Enjoyed the hot apple crisp there with ice cream on top.

Knowledgeable tour guide would make this trip amazing!
    Janna_D, Oct 2023
Places we drove by and foliage were gorgeous, even in the rain. The driver was just it, the driver. Basic pointing out to houses and delivering us from point A to point B to explore on our own with no narrative or any kind of history on the way. If you are looking for just a ride, it’s your tour. But if you expecting a history emersion or a tour guide with beyond the third grade recital of the very basics historical facts, it is not!
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for the review. I'm very surprised to read this. I'm not sure which of our guides that you had on your tour. All of our guides are professionals with vast knowledge of the area's history. I'm sorry if it was not to your satisfaction. This is a new tour for us this season and we are working hard to perfect it. Which we will! Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
    Good trip

Great trip except spent too little time a couple of places and too much at others. Sturbridge village was nice but less than I expected. Guide was knowledgeable.

Good day out, lovely scenery and an interesting look back at American history
    Lorna_C, Oct 2023
Great guide, good day out but it was a pity not to be able to spend some time at Walden pond. Would have rather spent more time there than Sturbridge.

    A very good tour.

Magnificent fall foliage.. Driver knowlegable and friendly. Bus al liitle old . Seats not comfortable..
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for this very good 4 Star review of our New England Fall Foliage and History Tour from Boston. I'm glad that you saw some magnificent foliage and enjoyed your time with our guide. FYI, the bus that you were in was a 2021 with just a little over 50K miles on it. (In other words NOT OLD- not even a little old) Our entire fleet is made up of newer model Ford E-450 mini-coach buses. Thank you for your feedback. Kind Regards, Stephen M. Fall foliage around eastern Massachusetts
    Douglas_S, Oct 2023
Great itinerary. Unfortunately, the traffic leaving Boston reduced our ability to have adequate time at a few stops. In a few instances, we had only drive-by visits to make-up time. Frustrating part of tour was the insensitivity of a few fellow travelers who wandered off thus reducing time at other sites. Tour guide should have made it clear to return on time or be left behind. We are all adults who need to take ownership of poor actions that impact others. One additional comment regarding Old Sturbridge Village, it was too long of a stop for this time of year. Most OSV attractions were not staffed. Perhaps they wind down to skeleton staff after Labor Day.
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for your GREAT 4 Star review of our New England Fall Foliage and History Tour from Boston. I am sorry about the traffic and the inconsiderate guests. I appreciate your feedback. I am glad that you still had a 4 Star day! Thanks for sharing. Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.,
    Not what I expected
    Operations_U, Oct 2023
Wayside Inn was extremely nice, wish we had more time there. The interstate ride back for nap instead of focusing on the Boston traffic

    A very nice Fall excursion
    MEREDITH_A, Oct 2023
I had a great time on this tour. The locations were beautiful, but I'd say the highlight was the tour guide, David. His impressive knowledge and enthusiasm for history really brought the sites alive. Although as a former tour guide myself,I had studied a lot about Revolutionary history, I learned a lot of fascinating details I had never known, especially about the Boston Tea Party and the events in Lexington. I liked that we had a nice balance of staying in and getting out of the bus. In Lexington, we parked next to the battle green and a historic house where John Hancock had stayed. That was good for me because I didn't feel like getting out of the bus! :-D Then in Concord we got out at both stops, and again by the beautiful Wayside Inn in Sudbury . After that we drove out to Sturbrudge Village, where we spent several hours. The final stop was a really nice family farm where we could buy cider donuts and hot cider, among other things. The day felt very laid back and enjoyable. I actually live in Boston and don't own a car, so I enjoy taking day trips like these! It's easier and less expensive than renting a car, plus I don't have to drive. It was like a little vacation!

    Great day filled with history!
    Dianne_F, Oct 2023
David was a great tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about Boston, its history and kept us informed throughout the day. Enjoyed all our stops. The Sturbridge Village brings you back in time. We even got to see some Fall Autumn leaves… 🍂 think they will be in full peak next week!

Massachusetts fall foliage & history tour
    Colleen_M, Oct 2023
Great trip to see the fall colours & perfect timing for it. Really glad that Concord & Lexington were included, with the early American history explained. And enjoyed seeing Thoreau’s little house (well replica anyway), to visualise his poetry/prose writing environment. The Sturbridge village was okay (probably more suited to young families, in my opinion); I’m not really sure why it’s included & I would reduce the time there by at least an hour (3 hours was a bit too long); lunch at Sturbridge was good- they had several delicious choices. Our driver/guide Lucia was enthusiastic & knowledgeable. (The bus seats were a bit hard & no where to put a bottle of water in the seat area; if that could be changed.) Thank you for the wonderful experience!
    Response from Host, Oct 2023
Thank you for this GREAT 4 Star review of our New England Fall Foliage and History Day trip. There is so much history in this area, that we decided why not combine the amazing history with the beauty of Autumn. I'm glad that you enjoyed your trip and time with Lucia. Old Sturbridge Village is a recreated 1830's rural New England town in a beautiful wooded setting thus bringing together the history of the area with the gorgeous colors of fall. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
