real Budapest a glimpse
Larry_C, Apr 2024
guide was great.very articulate, personable. The requirement for more characters in tis message is peculiar. And keeps growing! Enough!
Response from Host, Apr 2024
Dear Larry, Thank you. You are right. The six words in which you summed up your appreciation expresses the essence. .
Awesome Tour
Nancy_P, Aug 2023
This was an excellent tour with a very well informed guide. We saw items of Art Nouveau and learned much more of the history of the city, from this specific tour guide, than we would have otherwise. Our guide was very passionate about the city. We highly recommend.
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Dear Nancy, Thank you very much for your positive feedback. Belatedly, all my gratitude for enjoying the tour in spite of the rain. Our city is so rich in culture and changing dynamically that it's worth coming back. I promise sunshine for the next time. :) Miklós
Discover Art Nouveau with the Fungarian!
Laurie_B, Dec 2022
Miklos provided us with a very enjoyable introduction to Art Nouveaiu in Budapest. We not only appreciated seeing the many Art Nouveau buildings which were viewable from the outside, but also the lobby and restaurant interiors that required some insider knowledge to access. Highly recommended.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Dear Laurie, Thank you for your appreciative words. There are more than a hundred Art Nouveau buildings thanks to our great architects and artists. Your are always welcome back. Miklós
I went to Budapest because Art...
Judy A W, Oct 2017
I went to Budapest because Art Nouveau and Secessionist design is a love of mine. So the first thing I did was look for a specific tour for that. I enjoyed it and would just improve a couple of things. Stick more to discussing elements of design and talk about general country history in a short format when it affects design. Don't stop for refreshment, I would rather use the time to see more. Use up the entire 3 hours and offer an extension at the end beyond the tour guide's own apartment. For someone that loves the style of this city, this tour is a wonderful use of time.
Response from Host, Sep 2019
Dear Judy, Sorry for the belated answer. Thanks a lot for your expert recommendations, we'll do our best to perfect the tour. However, most people enjoy a short break, especially at the Café called Art Nouveau furnished with relics from the time of the Fin de siécle. The house where our company's, Fungarian's, office is was built in 1898 and an excellent site to understand what Art Nouveau meant in practice when it comes to residential buildings. The greatest artist of Art Nouveau stained glass windows is Miksa Róth, whose works can be seen in the Parliament and several public buildings with no access for the public. I thought that a beautiful piece of his could be of interest for art lovers. I hope you will visit again and see more of the numerous Art Nouveau buildings. Best, Miklós
