We had a great day with Louw! The wineries were really nice venues, we had some fantastic wine and Louw was an excellent tour guide, very engaging and we learnt a lot about South Africa, Cape Town and Stellenbosch. Great food where we stopped for lunch too, at a good price. Would recommend, good price for a private tour.

Fabulous wine tour!! Must do!!

This wine tour by far beat the wine tours we’ve done in Napa. Our guide and host John took us to three amazing wineries that were each unique experiences with delicious wines, food, and fun times. We recommend this to anyone! Definitely better than any wine tram and with the money!! John…thank you for making our day so fabulous and memorable!!

Saturday Stellenbosch Wine Tasting as success!

The Stellenbosch wine tour was everything we thought it would be! George was our guide and we had a driver, I don’t remember his name, sorry. They picked us up at our hotel on time. Along the way to Stellenbosch, George shared some really interesting facts about the area and country. Prior to the tour we received a message asking our preference for lunch. They helped us choose the perfect lunch spot! We had a wine and chocolate tasting at Waterford (beautiful property, try the Cabernet), wine tasting at Hartenburg (where we tasted/purchased a great wine, The Stork) and finally a wine/cheese tasting at L’Avenir. George pulled some strings to have the owner give us a private tour of the cellar and wine processing area! We had a group of 12 (large group) and George kept us on schedule. It was a really perfect day!

I booked this tour as part of a short three-day trip to Cape Town with my husband. I was a little worried about booking through Viator solely based on historic reviews, but this tour really lived up to its very positive 5-star accolades! Our lovely guide John was incredibly knowledgeable, very professional but also super friendly, and exceptionally organised. He picked us up very promptly from our hotel in the morning. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him and we learnt a lot whilst sampling some truly exceptional South African wines. All the admin. is done very discreetly in the background so you can really enjoy the day. Fantastic. Would highly recommend. If we visit again I would definitely book through the same company. Enjoy!

Stellenbosch wine - a wonderful trip!

We had a fantastic time on this wine tour around Stellenbosch with Martin. He was an excellent tour guide, incredibly knowledgeable and being a wine maker himself, was able to give an inside account into the complex wine making process. He also managed to acquire an extra few glasses of wine for us to taste (thank you)! Although lunch is not included in the cost of the trip, we went to a stunning winery for lunch which was one of the best lunches we've ever had for a very reasonable price (approx. £45-50 for two with main and desert). We would highly recommend this trip!

We went on a guided tour. It was generally OK. However, for the price, we would have expected more guidence with respect to the selection of wineries (we didn't receive any) and some more explanation on the wines and the area in general. It was good to have private transport to bring back some wines but otherwise one might as well just do the wine tram.

We had a wonderful experience wine tasting. George was our guide. He was excellent and very knowledgeable with all of the wineries. We joked that he was the mayor because everyone knew him. All of the wineries were wonderful. The place we had lunch at was beautiful. We definitely recommend this tour if you want something private and intimate.

John was a wonderful guide- he was extremely knowledgeable about the various vineyards, wine types, and wine making process. He was able to answer any question we had and it was a pleasure to spend the day in Stellenbosch with him! All of the wineries we travelled to were wonderful. Would highly recommend.

The tour was very well organized and the 4 chosen estates (Hartenberg, L‘Avenir, Glenelly and Waterford) had an amazing variety of wines and they were very cozy. Waterford was the most touristy place out of the 4. The Tasting at Hartenberg was in their wonderful garden and the Eleonor was an outstanding wine! Louw took us around for the day. He grew up in Stellenbosch and was very knowledgeable about the wine, the estates and the region. We were in good hands!

Our guide was Martin and he was very knowledgeable about the area and wines. We visited 4 wineries (including lunch stop), each focusing on different wines and pairings. The Stellebosch area is absolutely beautiful. We had a great time and would definitely recommend.

Highly recommend! They know their wines and the best wineries to take you to- they’re genuinely interested and knowledgeable and not just driving you around from stop to stop. I love that this tour also took us to such a nice lunch spot with a view! Excellent value for the quality of the wineries with included tastings as well as the level of service and attention from the tour guide. Stellenbosch is so beautiful and the wines will not disappoint!
