Overview

Visit a penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve all in one day during this tour, including round-trip transport from Cape Town. First, catch sight of the endangered African penguins on the beach, and then travel over to Cape Point in the nature reserve. Everything went as scheduled pickup location was easy and the tour was as advertised. Friday was our driver and did an excellent job. Wendy and Peter were our guides and provided excellent service. Peter was lively and very knowledgeable about Capetown history. We visited Cape of Good Hope first which was beautiful I opted to do the hike which had breathtaking views. Next we went to Boulder Beach to see the penguins. Overall it was a great tour and I highly recommend.

Satisfactory experience

Overall the most cost-effective tour available if you want to focus on just the Cape Point and Boulders Beach experience and do not mind a big crowded bus. The tour guide was a little too incongruent and irreverant so it would help to be able to block him out. The disembarkation process was also messy so that needs to be improved. Otherwise, satisfactory trip.

The Capetown Explorer penguin tour was an amazing day trip which came with informative and hilarious commentary from our guide, Brahm. Even though it was foggy, the trek up to the lighthouse was great and the hike down to cape of good hope was well worth the trip along. We were treated to some picturesque views as we made the long and steep decent to good hope. Lastly of course the penguins were plentiful and adorable. We enjoyed the penguins swimming by the beach the most. This tour is a must for anyone visiting capetown!

Paul was an excellent guide and it was a very fun day. The hike up to the lighthouse and over to the Cape of Good Hope were great, but the penguins were definitely the highlight of the day.

Great day out! This tour gave you more time at the stops than others that try to fit too much in but you could definitely spend longer if you went individually as a lot to see. Once you have done the walk to the lighthouse at Cape Point the optional 45 minute hike to Cape of Good Hope has amazing views along the coastline so definitely recommend. An hour at Boulders beach to see the penguins is more than enough, again if you had longer you could go for a dip at the beach. Overall a lovely day with a good team aboard who gave informative commentary and made sure tour ran smoothly and to timings.

Learn a lot about Cape Town on our way to Cape Point. Chris is very informative, Division drives carefully but making sure we are on time. They are very helpful specially when I lost my ticket to the Penguin area, they let me in without paying again.

Only 45 minutes with the penguins

They ran 2 double deck buses at the same time making every stop super crowded. They should have ran them an hour apart… They took some of the group on a lame hike that wasn’t even on the schedule, killing a good while. Thus, cutting the time at boulder beach to ONLY 1 hr 15 minutes TOTAL, the long walk there and back leaves you with 45 minutes with the penguins!! I’d take an Uber next time to skip the crowds and spend more time at boulder beach!

To assist and clarify, as we are still in a busy season in Cape Town, as this is an extensive full day tour, with so many attractions and sites to see, we have to run and manage the tour on schedule to ensure that remain on time. As advertised, the "lame hike" you refer to is the hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope that is very much part of the shedule and extremely popular with the majority of our visitors. The tour you went on is a full day tour to Cape Point, the Cape of Good Hope (which are the 2 key attractions) and includes a stop at the Boulders penguin beach. We promise 1h at the penguin beach, so at 1h15 you got more time than normal. More time than any other tour operators offer and sufficient time to spend with the penguins. We sell fast track penguin beach entry tickets on the bus (at cost price!) which make the entry into the National Parks penguin enclosure a breeze and help you save time by not having to stand in line to get in. Perhaps your expectation was that we were going to spend the day at the Penguins only? But thats not what we advertise. Our team delivered exactly as advertised and promised under difficult circumstances in peak season by by all accounts, it seems the vast majority of guests loved what we offer. We do appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and hope that you will consider making use of our services again in the future.

Absolutely gutted by this trip. We were looking forward to for this for some time. The guided tour had bear minimum conversation and clearly didn’t want to talk to everyone on the tour just a select few . The guide was very negative on our way to the trip. We were collected from opposite our hotel and told on return that we need to get off the bus at the v and a waterfront and he said they would help us get a bus back to camps bay. At this point at v and a they asked for a tip . We gave the tip. Then we’re told we can’t get a bus back and that there is no transport . We had no internet signal and we’re left stranded trying to find a way back to camps bay . Poor attitude and poor service .

Dear Jessica, We are truly sorry to see that you did not receive the service that you were promised. We did collect you from Camps Bay in the morning and it is correct, that the tour dropped you at our terminal at the V&A at 17h40 (according to the GPS), from where we offer a 6pm connection to the Green Route back to Camps Bay. We do this as we run 1 bus back that links up with the Cape, Wine and tram tours. Our office at the terminal is open until 18h15 so I am not sure why you would not have asked for help from one of our many staff there? There is also free wifi at the terminal so would have been easy to connect? All the same, we are interviewing the Guide to learn more about this as he should have ensured all was well and am also keen to learn more about his "negative comments" We are sincerely sorry for the inconvenience caused. We are devastated that we could not fulfil your holiday dreams on this spectacular tour and can assure you that this is not our norm.
