Loved it!

The monkeys were all worth it. It took a while to actually get to the monkeys because you do some tasting and demonstration for you to buy from the locals first, which I understand, that's how they make a living. When we finally got to the monkeys, it was Amazing. So small and cute and fun. They literally jump all over you. Bring a clean shirt and maybe a towel because they do poop and pee on whoever they please, but it's not alot. Our guide George wad great too.
Be prepared to hike and climb steep hills and steps

Could have done without the coffee and cocoa presentation. But the interaction with the monkeys was amazing! If you plan on going, MAKE SURE YOU CAN WALK UP STEEP STAIRS, AND UP AND DOWN STEEP INCLINES AND DECLINES. Not for those with bad knees or back.
Great

This was the highlight of our trip to Dominican Republic. Ruddy our tour guide had a wealth of knowledge and was really funny. We watched cacao being made into chocolate and tasted it, saw how coffee was produced and the best part was the Monkey’s. We had a blast and would highly recommend. Runners Adventure the tour agency was spot on with all the details including pick up and drop off.
Worth your time!

My fave experience!
Andrea_F, Apr 2024
This was my favorite experience! It was wonderful. The coffee making stuff was cool, and yeah sure they sold stuff there but they were not at all pushy. But my fave was the monkeys! They were sooooo cute and clearly well taken care of. They jump all over you and while some people hated it, I LOVED IT! Who wouldn’t want an adorable monkey crawling on you?! I could not have been happier unless I could have brought one home LOL Our guide, Sammy, was funny and knowledgeable. Great experience! The bus ride is long, sure, but it’s much better than having to pay extra for a taxi or something. Definitely recommend!

Incredible!
Jennifer_B, Apr 2024
Totally worth it. We got a great overview of the local sites from the best guide George, not to mention a great driver Nelson. Very enlightening. The Monkeyland experience was great! No they don’t steal your stuff. You just feed them and they climb all over. So cute. We all enjoyed it. Sadly you can’t pet them BUT I get that. Second part is awesome in learning about coffee, cocoa etc. highly recommend. There is some up and down walking.
Laughter and fun- long van ride.
Emily_D, Apr 2024
The monkey tour made for some great photos and family memories. The lengthy but comfortable van ride offered a chance to see the real DR, which was important to us. once you arrive, you get a brief instruction session and then go in groups into the enclosure, where you spend about an hour at two spots feeding the monkeys who climb on you and run all over. Couldn’t stop smiling. Coffee and cocoa demo after was nice and again, more learning about the authentic DR. Overall, I would recommend.
Highly Recommend!

Monkeys Everywhere
Kathleen_W, Apr 2024
We had a terrific tour guide. He was very good with the crowd. Seeing and interacting with the Monkeys was a delight. It was an experience I will not forget. I am thankful for the great care they take to keep their monkeys safe. I also enjoyed the demonstration of the coffee, cocoa, and coconuts. Thank you for the delightful experience.
Monkeys were so cute
Essence_U, Apr 2024
It was amazing. The little monkeys were so cute and well behaved! They made it seem a lot more unnerving than it actually was. Most of the rules are to protect the animals because they are so little.

Tour guide was funny and enjoyable thought tour of monkeys would be a little better than just two spots for photos

This experience was the highlight of my trip to Dominica Republic and I loved every minute of it, I got picked up on time from my hotel and I was updated on everything
A must!
Linda_N, Mar 2024
What a fantastic adventure!! I was initially hesitant to do this because I thought it was silly to pay that much money to see some monkeys but it was so much more than that! Our guide Sammy was amazing and so much fun! He provided some history, local culture, tips and tricks, and so much laughter! Part of this included a small lesson in coffee and chocolate making and it was so delicious! Bring money to purchase these delicious items! The coffee was not bitter at all and so sweet— a must for coffee lovers! We then spent time with the monkeys and we got so many chances for pictures and to see them. There is no touching for safety purposes but the monkeys will still be all over you so be prepared! Their little feet felt like a mini massage on my skin. There’s also a gift shop there with a variety of things from coffee, mamajuana, snacks, souvenirs and toys! They also offer picture packages! Thanks to Rafael and Felipe from Monkey Land for such an interactive experience! I loved every minute of it!!
Fun

This was a great time and definitely suggest you try it. The spider monkeys are so cool and it was also neat to learn about how coffee and cocoa is made. Our guide, Young Boy and driver, Nelson we’re wonderful!

Monkeys and Mamajuana
Adam_L, Mar 2024
Start out with a ride to the plantation area. During the ride, your guide (ours was Darius) explains many things of line in the Dominican. From work life to home life and all about the different plants, fruits and things made on the island. He was very informative and knowledgeable. You get to the bus zone where they let you off and take you straight to demonstrating how coffee and cacao is produced there. Then shortly after they take you to a nearby hut where they try to sell you the items they just showed you and allow you to taste. The driver (ours was Reme) doubles as a helper to pass out things to try as well as a few workers there. Everyone was nice and it did not take long for things to move along. After that, they take yo to prepare for the monkey enclosure. The area they are in is large and they monkeys roam free. As you walk through there are new handlers that help you interact with the monkeys by putting food in dishes in your hands or even on your head. They take a lot of pictures for you to choose from if you would like to purchase at the end of the tour. Everyone was helpful and nice.
