Overview

Cruising along Oman’s Musandam peninsula coast from Dubai is near-impossible independently, especially as it involves crossing the UAE-Oman border. This full-day trip makes it easy: providing a ‘dhow' (Arabian boat) cruise, lunch, and return cross-border transport to the departure port of Dibba from your Dubai hotel, and with a guide providing commentary on route. With everything organized, you’re free to simply admire the fjord-like scenery, and swim, snorkel, and relax.

Nice experience but could make more of the time

Everything was well organized (entry permit, pick up points, etc) but there was a lot of waiting involved. We were picked up at our hotel at 6:20am, got back at 7:20pm and the actual boat trip was from 12:00 to 4:00 We had about 1,5 hours to swim and only stopped at one spot to get off the boat. The other stop was for fishing which was annoying for half of the guests. We had great company and enjoyed the views but would have liked more cruising or swimming and less waiting. Vegans: better bring your own food.

Read mixed reviews wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was worth every penny! Travel time each side is approx 1.5-2hrs. We sailed out for 35mins and then stopped to swim & snorkel, the snorkelling was amazing lots of different fish to see. Then we had banana boat rides and ate lunch which was really tasty! Salads, chicken tikka peices, baked fish, rice, roti etc we were offered plenty of cold drinks and tea & coffee throughout the day. The tour staff and the boat staff were very friendly and made the trip. We had one difficult passenger on board who kept moaning about certain things but they handled her really well! I’d suggest getting off the coach as quick as you can so you can get a sun lounger on the upper deck!

Great relaxing time on the boat, great time with swimming at sea, it is true there is a three hour drive but you are in a comfortable airconditionned bus and you can enjoy the landscape.

So pleased to have selected this activity to do. Could not have been a better day. From start to finish I could not fault the friendly, efficient, well organised effort that the Mussandam team put in to look after us. The trip to the cruise, the cruise, activities and lunch were all exceptional Our driver Shelfi displayed total professionalism with his driving and directions at the border, his instructions and help got us through without any hitch. I would recommend this trip to everyone, Couples, families, teens, friends, business and solo. From the very young to the more mature. I cant say enough about this enjoyable experience. I I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

There was a tour guide but he did no explaining where we were going or history or anything, they did not take us to any fishing villages, we only stayed in one place where we did snorkel and eat but that was it, no fishing no explanation of the history, the boat was original but they dont tell you that you have to jump from boat to boat to get on board the boat very difficult if you have problems with knees, no one to help you at all, I enquired about the rough seas that I would get sick the guide said it would be okay, the 2m swell made several people sea sick but tablets were not offered until people got sick at least 3 people on the ship. Boat was in poor condition there was very unsafe I will never recommend this tour to anyone. For the money I paid for the tour it was very disappointing and not worth it at all sorry I went.

We had unforgettable experience with swimming in pristine water ,amazing ,amazing, amazing!!!!! .Also fun activities like snorkeling, fishing and banana ridefree of charge. Buffet lunch was good. Only one neg. aspect is that the way to get there and back almost 5 hrs. I and my friend were really disappointed organization of tours that we booked on Viator. I spend few hoursnot minutes!!! to confirm pickup time for the tours. Absolutely nonsense!!!! Instead of go on the beach or whatever I was calling and calling .What I'm paying money for, Viator? In my opinion, the service supposed be improve . I read some review ,where travelers complained about it, but I did not pay attention. You could email your clients about pickup time in the future.

My friend and I stayed in Dubai for about a week so we knew we wanted to take one day fully out of Dubai and go see a different side of the UAE. We were not disappointed! We had the concierge confirm the pick up time for us, which was early, but we had a quite a distance to travel that day. Pick up was on time and we drove for about 2.5 hours picking up 2 other groups of people. Crossing the Oman border was interesting since 2 of the travelers brought beer, which is a NO NO. I feel like that should probably have been told at booking, but no big deal. When you pull up to the marina where all the dhow boats are, its a little off putting and scary looking. We didn't know what to expect. . .the minute we got on the boat we were amazed with the service!! The crew was fantastic!! You were immediately told to sit anywhere, offered cold drinks of water and orange soda which was refreshing after the drive, offered fruit and then hot tea and coffee. The boat ride was enjoyable and went on for about 30 minutes before we stopped to snorkel. swim, go to the beach and banana boat rides for about 2 hours. Again, great fun and the staff wanted to make sure you were having a wonderful time, kept asking if you needed anything and offered to take some pics for us. Lunch had a bunch of delicious hot options to choose from and plenty of food. This was one of the highlights of our trips for sure!! It is a full day though, so be prepared. We made sure to have a few snacks and drinks in our bag just in case.

The ride to the boat was a little long, but well worth it! We had a great driver, boat captain and crew. The food was plentiful and delicious, with plenty of fruits, snacks, water, and soft drinks. What a beautiful experience. Once again Viator did not fail with a reasonably priced full day excursion. We all lazed on colorful pillows under a canopy, enjoying the sea breezes away from the heat and humidity of Dubai. Beautiful landscapes and local fisherman casting their nets. Once we dropped anchor in a beautiful little bay, we scuba dived, swam, banana boat ride, and speed boat tour of the shores. The Captain and his crew were exemplary. They assisted all of us with safety suits, gear, fishing, swam with us, and fed us all until we were stuffed! Our driver was courteous and great with giving us history and landmarks as we drove to and from port. This was one of our high points visiting Dubai. such beautiful waters and I got a great sun tan. Thank you Viator! When we return, this is a trip we plan on repeating.

I absolutely loved this tour, after a full on week doing so much this was awesome. It was relaxing and on the trip home on the boat i fell asleep because it was that relaxing. The staff were great, we met some great people, the food was really good. the only downfall was the 1.5 hours back to Dubai, but thats life lol. Would do it again:

Jolie excursion, Mais comme Oman est fermé pour cause de pandémie, on ne va pas du tout dans les fjords de Musandam mais simplement au bord de la mer au nord des Émirats côté golfe d’Oman. Plongée en tuba au milieu d’un essaim de poissons multicolores, c’est sympa mais le tour en bateau est tout court et n’a rien à voir avec l’idée originale de découvrir Musandam. Ça fait un très très long trajet en bus juste pour se baigner …
