What To Expect

Meet your guide at the near Dubrovnik’s Pile Gate to begin this exciting kayak tour. After a demonstration to learn about proper kayaking and safety techniques, get your life vest and paddles and hop in your kayak.

The route is mostly made up of the channel between the city’s 12th-century walls and Lokrum, a small island located just off the coast that boasts a Benedictine monastery and a Napoleonic-era fort.

As you travel along the Adriatic Sea, learn about the area's history and mysterious legends from your guide. Hear what daily life in Dubrovnik was like during the Croatian War of Independence.

After paddling near Lokrum, head back towards the Dubrovnik coastline and enjoy some time to either go swimming or snorkeling (equipment is provided) at a popular beach cave. Snacks are also provided as you soak up the sun. Book the evening tour to enjoy this rest stop at sunset and a glass of wine upon return to the beach.

Conclude your trip with a final kayak ride across the channel back to Dubrovnik.

2-seater kayaks are provided by default. Individual travelers without partners are paired up with other individuals. If a pairing cannot be made, the individual without a partner will be assigned to a single kayak.

The tour route is ~4.5km in length.

Please arrive 20 minutes before your posted tour time. Late arrivals will not be refunded.
Please DO NOT go to the beach! Even if you are late!
Please DO NOT approach the orange umbrella! That is NOT our company.
We serve a fresh fruit snack (usually an apple and 2 bananas)
Strong swimming ability is required. This is mandatory. Please do not book if you cannot swim 30 meters without issue.
The beach-cave can be extremely crowded in the high season months. This is out of our control. Please do not book this tour if crowds are an issue for you.
Please handle our equipment with care. Guests will be charged for any equipment they damage through negligence.
It is extremely important that guests notify us of any disabilities that could potentially interfere with the tour or potentially endanger the guest.
Please only book the tour if you are certain you will be able to complete it. In the event a guest is unable to complete the tour and transport must be booked, the guest will be charged the full amount of the transport.
All financial charge disputes must be logged within 7 business days following the scheduled tour date.
This tour is currently ONLY available in English. For guest safety and enjoyment, all guests MUST speak and understand English at a conversational level. Guests who do not speak and understand English may be turned away. No refund will be given if this happens in the final 24 hours.
No storage facility or locker onsite, everything goes on the kayak with you in a shared 50L barrel. Please bring -only what you absolutely need.
There are no toilets onsite or along the tour route. Please use the toilet prior to arrival for check-in.
Weight restrictions apply. Total weight allowance for occupants of a 2-person kayak is 270kg/595lbs.
Not recommended for travelers who are prone to sea sickness. Sea sick travelers will not be refunded.
This tour/activity will have a maximum of 20 travelers

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.
This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

It's rare that people don't get to join the tour, unfortunately it does happen, and it also guts us when we can't accommodate guests for the entire tour. Ivana was AMAZING!! Super informative and just a wonderful individual. This was a last minute add on to my trip and originally I scheduled the 1PM tour, but due to weather they switched me to 10AM and let me do solo kayak as I am an experienced kayaker. I wish I could have spent a bit more time in the water, but that is the only downside.

A different kind of tour that I would definitely recommend

Really enjoyed this tour for something a bit different. My boyfriend had never kayaked before so it was good that he was given a bit of instruction beforehand by our guide Danny. We did the sunset tour, couldn't imagine doing it in much hotter weather as it is physical but the stops were well timed. The cave was a highlight and enjoyed swimming/snorkelling here. Would definitely recommend this tour and the wine at the end was a nice touch.

Stunning way to watch the sunset! The kayaking is tough at times, but there are a few breaks along the way. Nano was a wonderful guide, he took some incredible pictures of the group and shared great stories. From snacks to wine to views, this is absolutely worth it!

Having never done kayaking before, I felt quite apprehensive.. I needed have, tour guide guided us all expertly, gave us all the information we needed along with some interesting Croatian history. Stopped in a cave, given opportunity to swim and snorkel. Seen a beautiful sunset on the sea and a lovely glass of wine at the end. Perfect 👌

Nenad is our guide. Super friendly. The tour is perfect length given you have to paddle. We got bag of fresh fruits and water too. Nenad knows all the good spots to stop and took great photos. The snorkel place next to the cave is fantastic with many fishes and clear water. For the finale we stopped near the castle launch point, kings landing. The view of the sunset was breathtaking. Then we quickly went back to the beach and was again surprised by a glass of wine. Best ocean kayak ever for me.

Our guide Cevi was excellent. He was lots of fun and very informative. He shared lots of stories with us and was incredibly likeable. It was lovely to see the old town from the sea and then swim with all the fish in the bay. Highly recommended this excursion.
