What To Expect

At an afternoon departure time to suit your schedule, greet your guide at a central location. Following your cloaked guide, weave your wicked way through the shadow-shrouded streets of Edinburgh’s Old Town and gain insight into Edinburgh’s dark history.

After the spooky scene has been established, descend to the vaults beneath Blair Street and feel a morbid chill permeate the air. Tentatively wander through darkened passages and hear gruesome tales of torture, murder, and body snatching.

Ghost stories galore, you are sensitive to a cold breath on the back of your neck and the flicker of a candle in the distance. Return to daylight and bid your guide farewell.

While learning about the close and the tall tenement style buildings was interesting, the underground to the vaults were a point of fascination. The guide was very entertaining when sharing the cool ghost stories.

This guided tour was so incredibly brilliant! Our guide, Anastasia, shared tales with such charisma, talent, and knowledge that made us all dive very deep into the dark side of Edinburgh. The underground walk was honestly spooktastic and extremely satisfying for history and ghost story lovers alike. The visit concludes with a detailed exhibition room that adds some extra quality to the whole experience. Highly recommended!

The guide Ross was very professional and did his best to interact. I didn’t think we were in the best group of people but he kept engaging and whilst I don’t find the stories overly stimulating, it was worth the visit and feel it’s good value for others to enjoy.

Fred was great! She told the stories as if she lived them…and maybe she did! She was captivating in her storytelling and really kept our interest. Her bits of humor were well-appreciated. The entire tour was well-organized. We found the meeting location without problem and the tour ran on time. Having the opportunity to purchase souvenirs at the end of the tour was a bonus!
