Edinburgh Castle—with its fortress walls, cobbled promenades, and winding stone steps—has loomed over Scotland's capital city for more than 1,000 years. Steeped in history, the former royal palace is now a museum, featuring detailed exhibits; period artifacts, such as the Scottish Crown Jewels and Honours of Scotland; and dark dungeons that illuminate the castle's storied past.

Nice and fairly quick tour
The Royal Apartments the poshest section of the Edinburgh Castle. It’s actually interesting there is an active military post within the walls.

Great way to see Edinburgh!
Great way to see the many historic sights of Edinburgh in a few hours at an economical price. Two routes, with one going directly to the cruise ship tenders dock at Newhaven. Both routes go to the Edinburgh Castle. We had no long waits for buses

Excellent way to experience this historic site
We spent two hours with Laura exploring the Edinburgh castle. She did an excellent job explaining the history of the site while giving us plenty of time to look around on our own. We took a ton of pictures and truly enjoyed the experience.
