What To Expect

Your full-day excursion sets off from Edinburgh in the morning. Meet your guide in the city center and take a comfortable seat in a top of the range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach. Enjoy morning views of the city as you cross the Forth Road Bridge, one of the world's longest cantilever bridges.

Cruise through the Lowlands into the Highlands, where farmland gives way to mountains and thick forests, the setting for many historic tales such as ‘Birnam Wood’ in Macbeth. Your first stop is the Hermitage, a natural wonderland, for a stroll through fir-lined paths along the River Braan.

After your nature walk, climb back in the coach for a drive through the River Tay valley. Admire the winding river—the longest in Scotland—as you make your way to the charming town of Pitlochry. Here, enjoy free time to explore this popular vacation destination. Admire the architecture as you stroll past small shops and eateries, then grab lunch (own expense), and pop into a local whisky distillery.

Next, enjoy tasting the 'water of life' at Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery (or Glenturret Distillery if Dewar's is closed). The day finishes with a visit to Dunkeld Cathedral and the scenic areas of Dunkeld, Perth, and Kinross. After a day of sightseeing, relax for the ride back to Edinburgh, arriving at Waterloo Place in the evening.

Great selection of spots of interest & distillery
Angeline_F, May 2024
The whiskey distillery is a very good selection, as well as the other spots of interests like a short hike, lookouts etc
Fun! Well organized, relaxing.
Olaf_S, May 2024
The Dewars was amazing! Several great views throughout the entire trip! Great commentary from the driver.
Happy we did it
Michelle_A, May 2024
Overall I’m glad we booked this tour. We got to see a part of Scotland that we otherwise wouldn’t have if we had just stayed in Edinburgh. I didn’t love our tour guide, but he did the job. His jokes fell a bit flat. The stops on the tour were really beautiful.
Enjoy!!

Nice trip, amazing experience. A Brief expirience to the Highlands of Scotland. Will definitly come back to explore the North of Scotland
Great teaser if you got little time to see places outside capital
Tatjana_M, Apr 2024
Mina our driver and guide was superb. Helpful, fiendly and funny (great Scottish dry sence of humour:). Lovely person to spend a day with and an excellent driver. Lots got packed into the trip, with nicely understated story telling to give our tour some historic context with a personal touch. Enough to get our imagination flow, but not to over do the commentary. Best place was the Hermitage nature lover) and Whiskey Tour is my second favourite (lovely house there too). I wish we had more time in the forest, than in Pitlochry, but I understand it’s due to having a need to arrange lunch time break for us all. Definitely worth doing this tour if you have little time and want to absorb magnificent landscapes of Scotland. But if you have more time than we had (3 days) I’d say each one of the locations is worth more exploration. Stops felt like a real teaser, but that’s a nature of a trip of this kind, I guess! Enjoy! And I hope it is as sunny for you as it was for us.
We had a blast!

We had a great day! Exploring the wonderful scenery and great tastes Scotland has to offer. Our tour guide Duncan, a.k.a. 'Big Dunc', was knowledgeable and witty. We had a blast!
Big Duncan made me laugh while teaching me a thing or two
Alexander_L, Mar 2024
Every now and then you encounter someone who exudes happiness, and is just a constant good vibe. That’s “big” Duncan. The guy is such a fun and knowledgeable guide and made the experience so great. I would take any other tour that big Duncan leads, he made this scenic and fun itinerary that much better
Pack warm and dry! FUN day trip-
Martin_I, Mar 2024
Great fun! Cold, wet day-big dunc and minna were fun, informative, kept the tour moving. Unfortunately the distillery tour was video only due to Spring cleaning but it was still very interesting. Lovely hike and view points-
Awful experience, save your money!!!!!
Larita_H, Feb 2024
Tour guide Jim Scott was quite insensitive and rude at times. He rambled on and on about what Scotland created while as if they created mankind, while trashing the British. He wanted everyone to sing the national anthems which was weird and felt uncomfortable with how pushy he was. I flat out had to say NO! I dosed off during the ride up and he told me why would I spend so much money on a tour just to sleep through it. Sir I have a medical condition. The Dewars tour (if that’s what you want to call it), was short and pretty much a waste of time. I would not recommend this tour nor this tour guide.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Hi Larita, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. This is very unusual feedback for your driver Jim and I'm sorry you were made to feel uncomfortable throughout. I know that a lot of us Scots like to joke that we invented most things, but this shouldn't be at the expense of anyone else. We'll be addressing your comments directly but you're also welcome to reach out to us with any further details about your experience. You can pop us an email directly at feedback@rabbies.com It's also disappointing to hear you didn't enjoy your time at Dewar's distillery. It normally is a hit with our passengers but we understand that everyone has their own tastes and interests. We hope we can see you on another tour again soon and give you the experience you should have received. Thanks, Jo
Great day!

The scenery was stunning and our guides were knowledgeable. We like the smaller group experience and the ride was comfortable. The staff at Dewars Aberfeldy was great!
Great tour
Angela_R, Jan 2024
Martin was a great guide and driver. The tour was very informative and fun. The locations we stopped were beautiful and there weren’t super long stretches in the bus which was nice. Lots of breaks to eat, walk, toilets. Also the small group and small bus was great, much better and more comfortable. Overall, we would take this tour again.
Our favorite day in Scotland!!
Courtney_H, Dec 2023
Bruce was a wonderful guide. He kept the bus ride entertaining and informative, and tried to accommodate what everyone was most excited to see. The views were stunning, and the walks nice but not too difficult. The timing was planned really well and I didn’t feel that we had too much or too little time anywhere. Would absolutely go on another tour like this.
Fantastic tour!
SerenaFurnival, Dec 2023

Amazing day in the Scottish Highlands
Erica_W, Nov 2023
This is a great tour that fits a ton of stuff into one day. Our tour guide, Jim, clearly loves what he does and brings a wealth of knowledge and history throughout the day. The tour coach was comfortable and spacious. Each stop along the way was filled with beauty and a great experience. It was a high value day that required low effort, which is a huge win when you're on vacation. Thanks to Jim for a great experience we will never forget!
Memerizing autumn
Deboshree_R, Nov 2023
To start with Swain was a wonderful guide and coach driver for us. He was fun and was sharing lot of information as well. The autumn was mesmerising at this time of the year in The Hermitage woodland walk. Enjoyed every bit of this trip

Guide Kylie was incredible and full of great recommendations in all location we stopped at. Went solo and had a great time.
Loved spending the day in the Highlands; seeing the beautiful countryside despite the rain!
Arlen_R, Oct 2023
The day of our tour it poured and many roads flooded. Despite the weather conditions, we still had a great time. Our guide was professional and very knowledgeable. We had fun walking the paths at the Hermitage and seeing the rushing water as well as a delightful lunch at Mortons restaurant in the quaint town of Pitlochry. Our guide kept our safety in mind and when one of the roads was flooded out, he navigated around so we were able to visit and tour the distillery.
