What To Expect

Depart from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan and enjoy the scenic drive to Dan Xay Bridge, where a motorized canoe awaits. Climb aboard alongside your knowledgeable guide and absorb the tranquility of the natural enclave as you sail towards your first stop. 

Head first to a natural bird reserve to catch rare glimpses of exotic birds nesting and then summon your courage at a crocodile swamp as you listen to fearsome facts about the incredible reptiles. Sneak a peek at a newborn crocodile and hear of complex incubation processes before venturing to a local bat lagoon. 

Next, ascend to the summit of Tang Bong Tower and enjoy sweeping vistas of the scenery from a height of 85 feet (26 meters). After capturing fantastic photographs, return to land and revitalize with a traditional Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant. 

Continue to Forest Park, aka Monkey Island, and disembark to peruse the intriguing exhibitions of Can Gio Museum; learn about the biodiversity of the mangrove forest and absorb the staggering number of species that reside there before heading to the Mangrove Forest Park Fauna Conservation. Observe thousands of wild monkeys and scour the thickets for wild cats, pythons, and deer as you cruise around the naturally diverse area. 

After reveling in the playful antics of the monkeys, glide through the mangrove forest by canoe to the Rung Sac Guerilla Base. Listen to captivating commentary about the Vietnam War guerillas who hid in the forest and hear of how the forest was devastated by a chemical warfare attack in 1998.

We had a really good day. The driver and guide were really nice and kind. The Island and Boattour were awesome and the Restaurant served good food.

Understand what you will really be seeing. I booked this trip expecting an outdoor and wildlife adventure when it's really more about the Viet Nam war history. It is an interesting look at recovery of an area that was hit hard by agent orange but certainly not beautiful. I found the monkeys and military music blaring from loudspeakers very creepy and unsettling. Our guide spoke good English and was very good.
This tour might be on the pricey...
