Overview

The rural villages, tiny islands, and lush rice paddies of the Mekong Delta lie just over an hour’s drive from Ho Chi Minh City. On this tour, set sail along the Mekong aboard a traditional sampan and experience local life on Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Tortoise islands. Along the way, sample delicious Vietnamese food, hear traditional folk music, visit a bee-keeping farm and coconut mill, and explore tropical fruit plantations.

Great itinerary and enough time for activities. I really recommend this tour, it was a day well spent. It didn't feel rushed at all, also sellers were not that pushy with tips (except for rawing ladies). Our tour guide Felix was really friendly and helpful with everything. I'm vegan and they even prepared some separate meals for me and other vegetarians.

Great Mekong Delta Tour

This was a very good tour! We really enjoyed our guide and the various stops. Pickup and dropoff was convenient, and communication was good with the tour guide. The food at lunch was really good at a local spot. It was very hot when we went, we would have liked to have cold water options. They give you a bottle of water, but it is warm, so was not refreshing on a hot day. Overall, great Mekong Delta tour.

Meeting our tour guide, Khoi. He speaks English well and very friendly. Nothing much to see in Mekong Delta. I didn't appreciate the short boat ride through the river and nothing there to see. The folk music performed by a group of senior was a joke. After a short singing, they asked for tip. I didn't like seeing the reptiles. At the last activity, the tour guide didn't give us time at the Pagoda, and rushing it through. The tour company should not use an old vehicle and allowed people to smoke inside. The vehicle contains a strong and terrible tobacco odors that made people in our group felt very uncomfortable. It could trigger people with health conditions like asthma to fall ill. People were not very happy so no tip to the tour guide or driver.

Great chance to explore something little bit more and taste Vietnam from different perspective than just Saigon. We've been to Saigon for a conference and didn't have much time to travel further. One day excursion to Mekong Delta is a great option. You can taste local food, listen to traditional music and see a lot of nature. Mekong river itself is impressive while it's one of biggest rivers in the world. Additionally I'd recommend Cu Chi tunnels for one day trip.

Reading the comments I was afraid the tour could have been too touristy, instead I was happily surprised! We visited the Pagoda temple and took different boats to discover two islands, landscapes were fantastic. We rowed in the Mekong Delta and we tried good food, the honey from local farms, the coconut sweets, typical fruits. The lunch was simple but also lovely. On the way back we were given coconut water for free to be drunk on the boat which was really appreciated!

Min was our tour guide and spoke great English. He also had a fun sense of humour which carried on throughout the trip. The trip was action packed with lots of sight seeing, two different boat trips, music performance, food tasting and lunch. My husband and I had not thought about including the bike tour which was an option for everyone on the tour, but pleased we ended up doing it as it was a fun way to see the local community and it was a short bike ride. Initially I thought 10 hours would be too long, however the time went quickly and was really interesting. We arrived back at our accommodation in time to have dinner. Perfect !

A nice tour but a bit too much "a tourist trap". You go only at places were everything is done to make you spend money instead of discovering the real live in the area. The Sampan tour is for example very short with no real interest.

Our guide, Nikki, was very well informed and engaging. This tour offered great variety with a behind the scene glimpse of how things are produced. The sampan boat into the coconut groves was a real highlight.

We had the very best tour guide called Qui, We learned so much on this trip that I wouldn’t have otherwise. The day was packed with activities and the lunch very delicious and very generous…..too generous I’d say. The sampan was such a calming experience. Everything was perfect. We had a great experience on the Mekong delta! Quang was an excellent tour guide who really knew his stuff. He was friendly and kept us engaged the whole time. You must visit the Mekong delta if you’ve never been there before!
