An interesting trip

This was a very interesting trip. It is useful to have a tour and a guide & whilst some things might frustrate you, if you don’t know the area then it would take a lot longer to get to these places. We managed to navigate ourselves from Kowloon to the meeting point at Tung Chung & from there we took a 45 minute bus to get to Tai O - it was a pleasant ride. Tai O fishing village was very interesting & a delight to see. The boat ride was okay - during the first part of it we saw the houses built up from the sea & saw how these people live which was very interesting but the second part of the boat trip was a waste of time & very cold. We then waited a short while to take another 15 minute bus trip to see the Big Buddha & the temple which was spectacular. Fortunately, it was a clear day so we had great views. Lunch was okay & we especially enjoyed the noodles. There were a few gift shops too if you wanted to buy a momento or two. Finally, some of the guests took the bus back but we chose the cable car as it was barely 25 minutes back to the meeting point although we did have to pay extra for this. It was a small group on the tour & nobody really gelled so we were happy to escape these people. Ben our guide was informative & did the best he could. I’m pleased we did this tour, as I said earlier, it is easier & quicker to have someone guide you around these places.

Great trip, our guide Grace was incredible, and she explained a heap of things really well. Everything moved quite quickly. All included except the cable car, but as explained, if they pre-book and pay and then the cable car suddenly closes for any reason, it's very hard to get a refund. It wasn't all that much more to buy the ticket, and well worth the trip.

Great trip . Enjoyed the fishing village the most . Definitely recommend this trip. Brings culture, history and different modes of transport to the front. Cable car is worth doing. Nisha on the hill is spectacular. Grace our guide was amazing as before and added to the joy on this trip

Fun and informable trip

Okay so it was a really fun and funny experience for me as it was my first time being in Hong Kong. First I was in the wrong terminal because there was a cookie shop by gate E where we were meeting in 2 terminals, but I eventually found them so it was chill. The guide was nice and knowledgeable and informative when u ask questions. I enjoyed my day and we had a really nice group. Cool to see Lantau island and take the train and busses without having to worry one bit about how to get there or which bus to take. The guides name was Ben and I really liked him he was funny and direct but nice and on a schedule. There wasn’t much hanging around, but that’s how I like it. We’ve got too much to see, so let’s see it and move on. I liked that but some people prefer more leisure, but I booked a tour to see stuff so let’s do see it. It’s funny they asked me to give them 5 stars after the trip and I told them I would but because I felt it was worth it, not because they asked. I wouldn’t want to mislead people with a 5 star, and then they go on the trip, and it is a bad experience. I did however really enjoy it, even as a solo traveller, and I think if you jump in and choose to interact with the guide, he will be more willing to interact with you as well. I would not give a 5 star just because they asked, and I would review it honestly. Ben was a great guide, I think Benedict was his real name, and it was really fun to get a taste of Hong Kong for the day with a local guide. I would recommend this especially if you’re not 100% about public transit on your own, or if you would like to get a whole Lantau island day tour with an informative guide who will be able to answer your questions. Definitely happy with the experience and worth the $99

Beautiful Buda statue

Tour was great it self ! We saw very important stuff . Little bit rushed ! Go go go until we came to main attraction . Then we had about hour to explore . One thing I did not like was a meeting point . Hard to find for tourists . Very stressful part . Tour guide grace helped us in the end to get train tickets to go back to hotel

Excellent six hour tour with knowledgable and entertaining guide

The tour was really entertaining and included several stops and activities - the Tai O fishing village (including boat ride, temple and fish markets) and the Big Buddha (including a nice vegetarian lunch, Po Lin Monastery, and the cable car down). The tour worked like clockwork, starting promptly at 09:45 (don't be late - in fact be at least 10 minutes early!) and ending at 16:00 at Tung Chung metro, back to Hong Kong Station for 16:45-17:00. There were several travel legs - the MTR to Tung Chung from HK station, a coach to Tai O (along windy roads for about 40 minutes), a 12 min coach to the Buddha, and then the cable car down at the end (this costs an additional £18/$24 or so). The guide, Grace, was knowledgeable, very friendly, and really made the experience enjoyable. There were 9 people on the tour plus the guide, which was a good size. I would defiitely recommend doing this tour.

We were with a great English speaking guide named Angela who gave us great information about life in Hong Kong and how it evolved over time. This trip is great if you want to see more than Nathan Street and Disneyland. Do the add on for the tram at the end to enhance your tour.

Grace was very knowledgeable and full of information. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star was that all the transportation was not included. You have to buy your subway tickets and tram ticket. This was an additional $250HKD

A jolly day trip to Lantau Island with Grace!

We did all the things on the itinerary. You get to experience 4 modes of transportation: MTR, bus, boat, and the optional cable car. Unfortunately we didn't have dolphin sightings on our boat excursion. What made the tour special was Grace, the tour guide for our group of 11 people. She reached out via Whatsapp the day prior to provide individualized directions from our hotels to the meeting point. Throughout the tour, Grace's enthusiasm was unmatched. She provided lively commentaries and information on the sights. She was also incredibly kind (e.g. offering to take everyone's photos, returning everybody's plates and utensils after the vegetarian lunch, etc.) and looked after everyone. It was an enjoyable experience overall.

It was a really great trip, a must do I would say. Our tour guide, Grace, was amazing, very informative, and gave us all kind of tips and advices. The island is beautiful and the weather up the mountain where the temple and big buddha is very beautiful.
