What To Expect

Meet a driver at your hotel in Kuala Lumpur for 9am or 2pm departure, then begin the 30-minute drive to Batu Caves, passing through the colorful Little India neighborhood along the way. Upon arrival at the temple, make your way up the 272 steps that lead to a towering statue of Lord Murugan, then enter the largest cave in the complex.

Inside, you’ll find Hindu shrines and a series of cave temples that draw thousands of worshippers from around the world—outside of the caves, you’ll spot some of the area’s resident monkeys.

After your time at Batu Caves, continue to Thean Hou Temple, a Buddhist landmark dedicated to Mazu, the Chinese Sea goddess. This is also a great place to grab a snack, as the temple is surrounded by a cluster of Malaysian and Chinese food stalls.

The last stop of the day is the National Mosque, an imposing religious building that accommodates up to 15,000 people. Minarets soar to 240 feet (73 meters), and the mosque is surrounded by a 13-acre (5.2-ha) garden traced with picturesque walking paths. This 4-hour tour concludes with return transfer to your Kuala Lumpur hotel.

Only do if you have never been to caves before
GREGORY_D, Apr 2024
The caves are impressive by themselves, however the surrounding is dirty. It has ended up as a commercial hub. Our guide Jay was delightful, taking us to more local establishments which where interesting.
Informative and flexible
Peter_P, Apr 2024
Nantha showed up on time and then provided informative commentaries on the sights he drove us to see. He accommodated our request to end the tour at the Central Market rather than our hotel, and adjusted the timing at other sites accordingly. We never felt rushed. Definitely a better way to see the sights than trying to find our own way via the confusing metro system. Nantha’s air conditioned car was also a nice respite from the hot weather.
A very nice tour

A very nice introduction to Kuala Lumpur. Enjoyed the day and learned some interesting things about KL’s people and culture.
A must do tour…
Kamal_B, Apr 2024
I would highly recommend this tour, a great cultural experience. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, we had such a great time!
Great Kuala Lumpur Highlights Tour
Jennifer_D, Apr 2024
Jacob, our driver/guide was very knowledgeable about the city and the country. His English was very good and he was a competent driver. Our pickup and drop off at the cruise ship terminal was seamless.
Fantastic driver
Angela_A, Apr 2024
Our driver was fantastic and very knowledgeable and asked our preferred visits Would totally recommend.
Great tour with a great tour guide
Diana_M, Apr 2024
Our tour guide, Yuvanesh, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the sites we visited and would slow down as we passed other sites not on the itinerary so we could get a good look and a quick pic. We unknowingly booked the tour on Hari Raya so we were unable to go into the National Mosque but were still able to walk around outside for a bit. The Batu Caves are as awe-inspiring in person as they are in photos. We had a great time and really appreciated Yuvanesh.
Such a great experience
Nicholas_L, Apr 2024
Mr. Thiru is a great host. The experience is like coming to a new city and having a friend pick you up and show you around. You can have an actual conversation, and ask questions about the culture, destinations, and the city as a whole. It felt less like a "tour" but more like a chance to spend time with a someone from KL who you could actually connect with. Highly recommend. I was against solo tours before, but this changed my mind.
Incredible tour and driver
Kat_C, Apr 2024
The best part was how lovely our driver was. He was knowledgeable and his customer service and friendliness are unmatched. The batu cages are an absolute must see, and the Chinese temple and mosque were incredible in both culture and architecture.
Different Side of KL

Thiru was an amazing tour guide who kept us engaged throughout the tour. He provided lots of fun and interesting insights at each location, and he was friendly and helpful throughout.
You get to see a lot but...
Greco_L, Apr 2024
My tour guide/driver is good at driving but bad at being a tour guide. He didnt properly explain what to expect during my tour and didnt even bother to tell me where to properly buy souvenirs in Kuala Lumpur (Central Market is the spot, not the Batu Caves where they slightly rip you off..learned the hard way). He was also late in a couple of instances during the tour (including the initial pick up at my hotel). I was quite satisfied with the stops on this tour nonetheless and he accomodated my request to stop at Merdeka Square.. If anyone else avails of this tour I hope you luck out on a more tourist savvy driver/guide. Also, no complimentary bottle of water considering how how it is in KL.. for USD $55 a couple of cold H2O bottles should have been included with the tour price.
Ok nothing special
Filomena_W, Apr 2024
Overall the tour was fine. Nothing special when we asked to do a slight deviation our driver was not keen on the idea so we stayed with the planned itinerary. He did drive by and point out a number of interesting things. The car was not the best. It actually broke down during the tour and he had to call for a colleague to come and jump start the car fortunately it was at the last stop and only delayed our return to the hotel. This was more of a hired driver than an informative tour
Best experience
Prahashini_K, Apr 2024
Best experience in KL - climbing the steps with young children and receiving blessings at surrounding temples was a lovely experience for us and them. When you enter the caves you can see more silver monkeys climbing them up and down - they go up and down so high so was cool to watch!
Batu Caves
Ed_W, Mar 2024
Raj made the trip to the caves very special. He tried to find any places we hadn’t already seen already and found us some hot Entertaining guide who loves his football!
Great tour. Great guide.
Victor_W, Mar 2024
Our tour guide, Aru, made the tour memorable. He was full of information, enthusiasm and a had a great sense of humour as well as a good command of English. The 272 steps, painted to represent the colours of Murugans steed, the peacock, were easy to climb with a few stops. Beware the monkeys! :-) Are took us to a batik shop, central market and the River Of Life, not all initially on the schedule but Aru was very flexible. Overall, thoroughly recommended!!!
Best guide
Anna_P, Mar 2024
Our guide Thiru was amazing. We learned from him a lot about the country, different cultures and he took best pictures of our family. He never try to push any shopping, was very patient and took any time we needed. We highly recommend this tour!
Excellemt 4 hour tour,...
Andrew_B, Mar 2024
Excellemt 4 hour tour, with particular mention to our guide Aru - he really went out of his way for us.
Amazing adventure to the Batu Caves and I to the Malaysian Culture w Nantha
Deirdre_C, Mar 2024
This tour was awesome! And our guide Nantha was knowledgeable and able to individualize the tour to our family with ease.
Pleasant day with an awesome guide!
Daniel_C, Mar 2024
Had an amazing time with my tour guide Yuvanesh! What an awesome guy! I was traveling alone in Malaysia and it was so nice to have an easy going guide who I could laugh with! He also gave great tips on navigating markets and pointed out restaurant recommendations along the way! While I had an amazing time on the tour, one thing I would recommend is maybe cutting the itinerary by 1-2 stops. Especially at the cultural market and petaling street, it can feel a bit rushed to actually shop and negotiate. With that said, Yuvanesh was very easy going and made sure I had the time to do what I wanted. All in all, a great day activity especially if you’re traveling alone!
Outstanding experience
