What To Expect

A comfortable, air-conditioned ride takes you about 30 minutes outside of Las Vegas and into the wilds of Nevada’s desert. Upon arrival, a brief but comprehensive safety discussion prepares you for the adventure ahead. After that, you’re ready for a memorable off-road experience through the Hidden Valley, McCullough Mountain Range and Roach Dry Lake.

Your extreme dirt bike adventure will lead you down a mix of single and dual-track trails. Get ready for the thrills of challenging terrain, spectacular mountain scenery and dynamic off-road racetrack. Depending on group size and riding experience, you’ll explore between 20 and 50 miles of breathtaking desert landscape.

As this is a challenging adventure, you must have prior dirt bike riding experience to join this tour.

If you're looking to do something else besides the typical Vegas stuff go on this tour. Great time riding with Primo, he was knowledgeable on the area and an excellent rider.

I booked this tour for my boyfriend. He is an experienced rider. Jordan was the guide and he was amazing! My boyfriend had so much fun! Jordan is an extremely good rider and he took the time to match my boyfriend's skill level and make sure he had a great experience. Thanks to Jordan my BF came back grinning from ear to ear! The scenery, it is so different than anything east of the Mississippi or Europe and you don't get a feeling of the landscape driving through on the road. The weather was bright and breezy so the dust blew away. The trails were freshly groomed so a bit sandy but the washboard was minimal. The trail was just challenging enough that you had to pay attention which was difficult because you wanted to look around too. The staff was laid back but on point, all concerns were addressed, the bikes were great and forgiving. Everyone in my group was smiling and excited after the ride. This turned out to be a must do experience. Thanks to everyone who made this available.

AWESOME. EXPERIENCE. Thrilling, exhilarating, and extreme! The course was technically challenging and the bikes they provide are serious machines that really perform. These guys are absolute professionals, from the shuttle driver to the safety briefing instructor, to the tour guide - everyone we came in contact with was knowledgeable, courteous, warm, respectful and went out of their way to make our experience the best that it could be. Ryan, Cody and our tour guide Sam were awesome, creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere while always vigilant about meeting needs or providing support when indicated. We jump out of airplanes for a living, and these guys were still able to get our adrenaline pumping and push us right up to our limits - without exceeding - for a heart racing, hair-raising adventure in the desert that we will never forget, all while maintaining their commitment to safety. 100% will do again and highly recommend.

Very nice and intense ride on the dirt bike. Bike was in solid condition and more than enough to handle the desert trails. Guides were knowledge and very safe. Only complaint is the gloves. They are like those anti cut gardening gloves. Rough for dirt biking tough terrain.

Roddy was a great guide who took me on an adventure I did not expect. Was thinking I’d be on some tiny “buddy bike” but instead was welcomed to a Honda CRF450X. The bike was designed for this!!! My ride was everything I imagined and more. Thanks guys for such a great time.

Did the dirt bike tour as part of a midlife-crisis, return to youthful vigor, hangout in Vegas trip, and had a great time. The trails are soft, and it took some some getting used to, but I had a blast. Now, as I'm dating myself, I took the trail slow, and Danny checked back with me while still allowing the other guy (Wayne from NC) to blast as hard as he wanted. The dry lake bed was the best. We ran through it at top speed, with the dust kicking up from our back tires like contrails from a jet. If I weren't on the bike, the picture would have been awesome. It's not a hard trail, but there were a lot of washboards. Nothing a beginner couldn't do, but the bumps are forever, lol. I should add, I did this in September and it was really cool in Vegas temp wise. The guides brought a lot of water as well. I plan to do this again.

I have mixed feelings about this tour. First, the company that facilitated my booking of this Viator doesnt know much about motorcycles or what happens. They also dont let you contact the tour company directly American Adventure Tours to ask questions about bikes or gear. Anytime you call to ask a question you are placed on hold while someone at a call center calls the tour company. For the ride itself: Being a lighter rider 511/135lbs and considering myself more of a novice with some off-road experience I specifically asked for the lighter KTM 300 XC-W. I showed up and was given a bike that was not even on the list of options, a Frankenstein Kawasaki 450 that was 3 years old pieced together with bald tires and no electric start. There were no other motorcycle riders this tour and about a dozen other folks on ATVs and Razors. So it was just the guide and I. I RECOMMED TAKING PHOTOS OF THE BIKE YOU RIDE AT ALL ANGLES BEFORE GETTING ON IT. More on this later. Not much of a briefing. Now that I am finished with the tour I can tell you it was in 3 parts: up a technical section with whoops and single-track up to a radio tower lookout. Part 2, back down that section and across a dry lakebed to an outlet mall parking lot in Primm, NV 20 minute lunch break with opportunity to hit the food court. Last section was back across the lakebed and through another flat technical section of single track to the vans. I dropped the 450 a few times on the technical sections. It was too big of a machine for the technical sections for me and the small wipeouts were 100 my fault. Kick starting the bike on uneven terrain was difficult and happened no less than 20 times. The bikes idle was set too low and the bike stalled anytime you let the throttle go to idle. The guide adjusted after I stalled out several times. Once on smoother terrain the guide let me ride his personal 2016 KTM 300 XC-W for the flatter sections only reason for not a one-star rating. This bike was m
