What To Expect

Start the day with pickup at your hotel or cruise ship: you have the option to choose a start time at 7am or 8am. Travel to the West Bank of the Nile in an air-conditioned vehicle, where the first stop of the day is the Valley of the Kings. Explore the sprawling, desert site, with time to visit a small selection of tombs with your guide.

Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut, a grand complex built by Queen Hatshepsut, who ruled the kingdom in the 15th century BC, and stand at the feet of the Colossi of Memnon, who guard the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

Cross the Nile River to the East Bank, where you’ll refuel for an afternoon of sightseeing with a buffet lunch at a local restaurant. After the meal, spend the afternoon at the Temple of Karnak, a maze-like complex of temples, columns, and chapels guarded by an imposing double row of sphinxes that once stretched 1.5 miles (2.4 km.) to the Temple of Luxor. The final stop of the day is the Luxor Temple, where recent restoration has revealed bright colored paintings that bring the ancient world to vivid life.

This 9-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or cruise ship at 4pm or 5pm, depending on start time.

Excellent Tour of Luxor Sites

After using various guides in different areas of Egypt on our trip, I can say that Barry was one of my favorites, and the guide that I would recommend the most. He knows the history of the sites very well, and he is excellent at explaining and making sure that you get the most out of the sites that you will visit. I found the fact that he will read thorugh the hieroglyphs very impressive. Also very important is that the tour was never rushed; plenty of time was given to explore the sites. Another major advantage of using this guide from Reflections is that, unlike many of the other guides we had, Barry really gave us his attention while guiding and didn't interrupt the tour to answer phone calls or send texts, which happened a lot with other guides. I highly recommend using this guide. As a bonus, he is an Indian Jones fan which is awesome, and he also takes excellent pictures equally well with both Android phones and iPhones, but Androids are his favorite phones.

Awesome Day in Luxor

We enjoyed an amazing day exploring Luxor. We had good communication prior to our tour,confirming pickup time and location Our day started with an ontime pickup. The car was in excellent condition - functioning seatbelts, comfortable, and AC and bottled water. Fhareek our drive was a courteous and safe driver Khaled our tour guide was extremely informative throughout the day. He shared his credentials as an Egyptologist He did an excellent job of describing what we were going to see prior to our entry into locations. This helped with understanding the history and knowing what we were looking at, thereby enhancing the experiences. We enjoyed a lunch buffet that offered many selections and the food was good. We were happy that we selected the private tour allowing us flexibility on time for visiting the sites without feeling rushed or delayed It was an extremely hot day in Luxor but we always stepped into an air conditioned car as we drove from site to site Khaled answered any question we had and has offered to answer more in the future! We highly recommend DJ Khaled as your guide. You will have an amazing experience!

Lovely tour with a nice guide. Lots of information about the ancient Egyptians. Lovely driver with a nice car which had much needed air conditioning! Our guide, Khaled, was very friendly and happy to help in any way. I would highly recommend Khaled. A wonderful way to see the sights of Luxor in one day!

Barry was a fantastic guide who came across as both extremely knowledgeable but also quite friendly and easy to talk to. The tour was also very accommodating of our earlier start time due to one of our activities being canceled leaving us with extra time in the morning. Overall 10/10

This was an amazing tour! My guide Sayed was very knowledgeable and shared so many stories at each of the stops. Being able to visit the tombs in both the Valley of the Kings and Queens was an amazing experience! For me the best part was the Temple of Hatshepsut because I love her story in history. The Luxor Temple and the Karnak temple were just as special!! And both my driver, Yusef and Sayed made an extra stop to learn about the shaping of alabaster and I was able to get some very special and unique souvenirs!

Unbelievable how much you can see in a day

I would highly recommend this tour if you have a short amount of time in Luxor. We were able to visit all the major sites and have a great lunch and not feel rushed. Good vivid story teller and pleasant trip

We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Our tour guide, Hassan, is quite a good vivid story teller. He explained the history of egypt and its past kingdom very thorougly that even I, a non-history person, can follow easily. His English is really good and he even can speak French to me. Momen, our driver also made sure that the trip was safe and pleasant. We basically covered everything in Luxor in a day like they stated so by the end of the trip, we were quite tired with the jet lag. We did go back to Luxor temple the next day to enjoy it more for our own preference. Overall, I was happy to book this tour.

Absolutely incredible experience. Noby was so well informed and knowledgeable. Traveling by myself I always try get a solo guide and a driver. It’s totally worth it as you hear and see so much more than in a large group. Noby cherry picks the best out of the five areas you go to. A full 6 hours with an amazing lunch. He will go as fast or slow as you need..there is a lot to take in but at the end you totally understand the connections of this amazing civilization. One of the most amazing trips I ever had in Egypt. For the people who have a short stay, this is the right trip, as you see most of the important locations. I would recommend to add to it the Vally of The Queens as well as an extra. I was guided by Barry, who made me feel that I'm with a friend rather than a guide. Very cooperative and will focus on what matters to you.

A nice tour to west and east bank of Luxor

Our tour to the Valley of Kings & Queens - Hatchepsut, Karnak, and Luxor temple on 3rd of January 2024 was quite good. We were picked up on time at our hotel. Our guide Nasser and our driver Mahmud were very friendly, helpful, and patient. But, it would be better, if our guide would go with us into the tombs or would explain us the highlights of the tombs before we went into the tombs, like other guides did. Instead of that, we had to go alone into the tombs, took the fotos of every thing, in which we interested, in order to asks him after visiting the tombs. We booked an "all included tour", but unfortunately, for the visits of the most important tombs like Tut Ankh Amun and Nefertari, you should pay additionally 2000 EGP for each tomb. It would be better to mention these extra costs in the tour description. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the tour. Many thanks to Nasser and Mahmud.

Fun full day in Luxor

We had a great time with Mohamed, our guide, and Ali, our driver. Both are great guys and were fun to spend the day with. Mohamed’s knowledge is deep and he explained so much of the history of each site and the more recent “discovery” history as well. It’s a lot to take in, but there is no better way to do it. You get lost with a large tour group and can barely here the guide. Always do the individual family tour, worth the little extra money. The only negative was lunch. I should have overruled the family vote of buffet lunch. Chicken that was all tendon? Somehow they did it. Mohammed had the owner apologize to us which wasn’t necessary but showed it was an absrration. Apparently to they had a bad day that day. It didn’t take away from an all time day.

Mohsen was an excellent guide. He was attentive to our interests and gave us adequate time to explore on our own. Valley of the Kings is idyllic of how one might envision ancient tombs of the royals. Hatchepsut temple was truly impressive in how the architecture was designed and has withstood time. Karnak and Luxor temples are hidden gems within Luxor that can truly be missed while driving in your car. the obelisks and columns are hard to beat.

It was a private tour. Abdo was my tour guide. He's pretty cool. Great historian. Answered alot of my questions. Did alot in one day. Picked me then did valleys of kings, stop by store of stone engraver, hatchepsut temple, valley of queens, Karnak temple, lotus oil store, skipped mummy museum, and luxor temple. Lunch in the middle.
