Aremy was wonderful! We had a great time learning about all of the markets, trying all of the food and tasting mescal at the end.

This tour was not very good. We only had 4 in our group. It was very rushed, no time for shopping, the food cuisine choices were not that great. I would not recommend I’m sorry.

A Very Disappointing Viator Experience

Our tour guide did not show up for this tour!!! This is a tour that my husband and I were very excited about doing. There was no communication from Viator or the local tour group that the tour was not happening. Several hour later we finally received a message from the local tour group that there was miscommunication on time - that it was to occur at 10am Mexico City time. That is totally bogus as our Viator paperwork for the tour clearly stated a 9am starting time. While we’re did receive a full refund, this does not make up for the hours wasted trying to contact the local tour group, Viator and our bank to assure we were not charged for the tour. Very disappointed in Viator.

Excellent Overview of Local Markets, Food & Culture!

Aremy was an excellent guide through the chaotic and sprawling Mercado Merced! She took care to guide us safely through the hustle and bustle of the market, while stopping to taste local ingredients, fruits and foods and explaining everything along the way. She made this experience so much fun when it could have been totally overwhelming! This was our first tour on our 2.5 week Mexico City vacation and was a great introduction to the local foods and culture. She customized the tastings as we went along and was always willing to answer questions or stop to explain something we found interesting in the market. We never would have found our way through Mercado Merced without Aremy! She also took us to Mercado Sonora (which is a unique experience in itself) and Mercado San Juan, which we enjoyed so much we returned there on our own later in our vacation. We highly recommend this experience if you're interested in local food and culture!

Orson was our magnificent tour guide! I would recommend this tour to anyone looking into street foods and the local markets that tourists are not easily explored to. He was extremely knowledgeable about Mexico’s history and we enjoyed hearing all about transportation, buildings, culture, and food! The time on the tour goes flying by due to all of the fun stuff you are consistently doing. I can’t wait to take another tour from this company when I go back to Mexico!

One of the most enjoyable tours I've had. Orson and Dara were fantastic. Showed areas that I would never see or know about myself. Shared great knowledge and also took great care of tour members. Lots of great stops to try many different things and also received gifts which was a surprise but very nice. Highly recommend you take this tour.

This was an amazing experience! It would have been so difficult to navigate the markets without a tour guide. If you are a tourist that is planning to go to the Mexico City markets and have an authentic experience, you should absolutely book this tour!! Our guide was amazing and he taught us so much! We even walked away with some special souvenirs courtesy of our guide.

Alicia did a fantastic job showing us around the markets and explaining everything. It turned out to be her first tour but we would not have guessed! We love experiences like this where you get to see a side of the city that you may never have even known about. For large parts of the tour we were literally the only tourists around which was amazing. Highly recommend!

Above and beyond

Unfortunately we were unable to attend this tour due to travellers sickness. We got so very sick and sadly couldn’t attend, Amery was exceptionally kind and helpful. Offering not only a refund but if we were better the next day she would take us out on another tour. I cannot speak for the tour itself but the tour guide Amery showed such compassion and kindness, going above and beyond, I have no doubt her tours are exceptional. We are very sorry to have missed this one, but urge you all to book a spot with this beautifully kind and knowledgeable tour guide.

We had a wonderful experience with the local markets tour. It gave us a deeper insight to the culture and day to day life of the people who live in and around Mexico City through the lens of the markets and the generational history of those markets. Our tour guide, Denisse, was simply amazing, giving us insights and history of the markets, as well as her own experiences growing up visiting the markets as a child. I highly recommend this tour, particularly a tour with Denisse.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Aremy to visit Mexico City markets. She was very kind to us and she wanted to ensure that we had a good experience. We enjoyed her presentation of local food knowledge and history at the markets. The foods were delicious and the vendors were great. Mexico City is an amazing place and Aremy is a great guide to it. The pace of the tour was good—not too fast or slow. The restroom stop was well timed. We were able to sit down at some of the food tasting and that is always nice.

Authentic Mexico Experience

This was a great tour. Ivan was very attentive. He made us feel very safe as we explored these markets and got to experience authentic Mexico. I wouldnt recommend trying to explore these areas on your own but with Ivan, becomes a forever memory. DO THIS TOUR! We stopped at some really great food spots. The tamale was the best i ever had and i love tamales. Tacos, quesedillas, and other exotic food. Ivans network of vendors gave him great service. As we walked these markets, i lost track of how many fist pumps he got. The mezcal tasting at the end was also great.

The tour was great and very informative! We took public transportation to get to the markets. Personally, I loved it because I wanted to see how the locals got around the city. If you don’t like public transportation, you may not like this tour. Our tour guide Ivan was great! Very friendly and his English was excellent - I learned a lot about Mexican food and markets. One of my favorite tours! You just have to be OK with crowds. You won’t get hangry because there is plenty of food, you just have to keep an open-mind! If you have particular diet restrictions, you can bring your own snacks or buy from convenience stores along the way! GRACIAS, IVAN!

This is truly one of the best, probably best, tours I’ve done. Aremy was an awesome guide. We visited 3 unique markets and sampled so much amazing food and learned so much. I can’t imagine trying to replicate this experience on my own. Do NOT miss this tour and 100% recommend Aremy—who also gave us great ideas for other restaurants and places to visit on our own. We did not want the day to end!

Fun and informative guides. This was our first visit to Mexico and just needed guide on street food and markets. We would throughly recommend this trip to others. Learn about foods and culture in situ. You get a lot of food so go hungry.

We had a great time. This was a perfect stopover tour to stretch out. Legs and find out some history. The food was excellent with good sanitation in those booths. My favorite was the visit with Manny and Erika for a Oaxaca style dish. I would eat that every day! Overall fun and excellent. Ho was a wonderful guide and came and found us when our Uber driver dropped us in the wrong spot. He is excellent and we will request him when we come back!!!
