Not your usual, but an unforgettable experience!
    Eric_G, Apr 2024
We booked this tour out mere curiosity; we just wanted to go with the flow and thought a cable car ride would be a whole lot of fun. But it turned out to be a really amazing experience! Fernando is a very warm and welcoming guy who immediately takes you up in the life of a chilango. We explored unknown areas of Mexico City with a rich history, we saw amazing murals and even more amazing rooftop-murals. Fernando immersed us in some captivating social city-projects. I would highly recommend this tour, as there is no other way to see and learn about these rooftop murals then with the cable car. Fernando warmed us up truly for Mexico and its vibrant culture and rich history, and told us a story of hope and progress. And we took the metro ourselves the next day, proud to feel true part of the city.
Great hands-on experience with lots to see and absorb.
    Merrick_T, Apr 2024
Superb and unique tour with lots of practical content. The guide's (Fernando) personality however, is not the right one for entertaining curious enthusiastic tourists. I found him detached, terse and combative with too many crass retorts. Note: I hesitated posting this review as I thought that I was the only one who had a mixed experience; however, on looking through recent reviews I saw only in March that someone else had the exact experience as I.

Hello Merrick, we are sorry that you did not have the experience you expected. We appreciate your comments that allow us to improve. However, it is important to mention characteristics of your personality that may lead to distorted perceptions: 1. From the communications we established via WhatsApp to coordinate the logistics of this experience, certain aggressive and defensive attitudes were noticeable. I had a feeling that it wasn't a good idea to host you in our experiences, but I gave it a chance (fortunately it wasn't possible for you to attend our 2 experiences due to our availability). 2. The clearest example was before starting the tour, I arrived as always before 9:30 am, I met the different participants/travelers at the entrance of the Palace, and you were furtively hiding behind us, when I saw you , I greeted you, confirmed your identity (I asked your name) and invited you to come over with the rest of the group to introduce ourselves, and you said: "I was here listening to your conversation to see if you weren't talking bad about me." Everyone was surprised, wondering if it was a joke, but I noticed that it wasn't... 3. When we were on the subway, after I had given you a lot of information about mobility and public transportation, you began to ask questions, shouting in an aggressive and somewhat staccato manner for random information, such as the longest subway line, demanding and not letting me answer, I asked you if you were referring to length or number of stations, you answered both, with an aggressive tone, and I gave you the answer; I even jokingly told you to have fun, I reminded you of the quiz we would do at the end. The other travelers were taken aback by your sudden outbreak, they told me this later in the tour. 4. Curiously, when you realized your behavior, you later commented that you could ask many questions and you shared with me that your interest was because you previously worked in urban planning and were passionate about public transportation. I said of course, and provided you with detailed information during the tour. In fact you were saying that you loved everything we were seeing and admired the city's transportation. In the end, you showed very sudden mood changes, which everyone noticed. You were still even considering attending our bar crawl the following Saturday, even Jasmine (a girl in our group) mentioned that maybe she would join in. I understand that you were hesitant to leave this review, because to everyone that day, it was clear that you had somewhat drastic personality changes. The other 8 travelers expressed an opinion about the experience and the guide, completely opposite to yours. In any case, we appreciate your comments, I hope you enjoyed the eclipse, greetings.

We were lucky to be able to visit Iztapalapa on Good Friday and were able to watch the first part of the re-enactment of the Passion of the Christ. Beautiful artwork on roof tops and lovely walks through a couple of neighborhoods. Great tour guide.
    Ruined by the guide

I don’t know why guides these days talk so fast and leave no rooms for pauses. There are so much information that you have to process and when the guide (Fernando) just rambling on without taking a break for a breath, it’s exhausting. You have to be so concentrated that after 10 min you have difficulties to follow along. And when you ask a question that apparently the guide already had mentioned, he gave you an attitude. But it was so much information and it was so fast so it was hard to keep up. And remember, English was his 2nd language and it is also mine 2nd language. And we ran from place to place. It felt like the guide just wanted to do this as quickly as possible. I tried to take photos and videos along the way but had to do it while running. I mean, come on!! The first time by the cable cars me and another tourist did stop for a moment to take some photos and when we turned around the others were gone (we were a group of 5 inc the guide) We found them but the guide gave us the blame for not coming along. But isn’t it his job to look after his clients? And the way he just kept on running it’s no wonder people got behind. He also said that we could ask questions if we want, but when we did, he said, a little annoyed, I’m gonna talk about that later…. So you ended up not wanting to ask questions because you didn’t want a reply with an attitude back. He had done this for 2 years so maybe that’s why. He knows all the info so well so he’s just saying it as fast as he can. Later in the tour when we talked normally and he didn’t gave us info, it was much more pleasant. The tour itself and the cable car ride seems like it’s something I would like to do on my own sometime, because this time was ruined.

Magnus, we are sorry that you did not have the experience you expected. Your comments allow us to improve. That said, it's important to mention what happened to provide context. Two of your behaviors in this experience were totally out of the ordinary, in fact, it is the only time they have occurred: 1. When the traveler Andrea, of German origin, walking on the subway platform, began to talk to me in Spanish about her trip, because she wanted to practice her Spanish, incredibly, you approached us aggressively, and demanded that we speak in English, she was stunned by your action, and I answered clearly that we were not talking about anything related to the tour (which was obvious because I had already given them the introduction in English), and I stressed that everything related to the tour would be in English, that she was simply practicing her Spanish with me. Note: How arrogant and intolerant someone has to be to get angry and prohibit 2 people from speaking Spanish while in Mexico!? Later talking with Andrea, she couldn't believe your audacity. 2. Another irrefutable fact, the other 4 people on the tour (Andrea, Steven, Josh and Kayla) have a completely opposite opinion than yours, they expressed it verbally in person, and in their reviews. In fact, Steven left one of the most flattering reviews of this experience in the almost 2 years of this tour's existence. 3. When you were left behind for a few seconds at the Quetzalcóatl station when getting off the cable car, I went back to look for you because I always take care of my clients/tourists. We meet soon, but it is the only time this has happened to me, since always when a traveler wants to take photographs he tells us or politely asks us to wait, something you never did. 4. I think part of the problem you mention in your review is because you really had difficulties with English, I understand that it is not your native language, however the others understood perfectly, and I do not speak Scandinavian language, you know that from the moment you book . That's why you mention at the beginning that you almost never understand the guides... Conclusion: we appreciate your comments, we will continue working to improve, but there is no doubt that one's own emotional state (the tendency to be upset, not respect others, etc.) and the lack of interest in learning about another culture beyond the photos , are the main reason why travelers sometimes ruin their trips and experiences for themselves.

Fernando and Alex did an amazing job with the tour. They’re so knowledgeable and made it fun as well. Exploring iztapalapa and the cable cars was definitely a highlight and would recommend

Our guide, Fernando, was excellent. Full of thoughtful information. We really enjoyed seeing the city by cablebús.
    Beautiful but tacky operation
    Bruce_W, Mar 2024
The pace walking much to fast for comfort and lunch unsanitary location, with last stop in middle of nowhere!!
    Don't Miss This
    Doug_S, Feb 2024
It's exhilarating to be 50-60 feet above theses wildly varying neighborhoods. Endless things to see but the murals and the view over the vastness on Mexico City are remarkable.
    Fantastic tour
    Clare_M, Feb 2024
Really enjoyed this tour. It was great to see a different part of the city and ride on the cable car. We done it on our first day and it was a great introduction to feeling safe and using the public transport.
    Fernando was the best
    David_m, Feb 2024
We did this trip on 8th of February. Fernando our guide was excellent. Friendly attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the whole area and the cable cars . We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the trip. If you want to see a different side to mexico book this trip.

    Walking Iztapalapa...
    Bharat_J, Jan 2024
Walking Iztapalapa community and learning about the Utopia community was an enriching experience. The Cablebus is an inspiring work of community engagement.
    Great time!
    Heather_B, Jan 2024
I had a great time. I really enjoyed seeing parts of Mexico City I never would have seen on my own. The views from the cable cars over the city were amazing. We had several interesting stops along the way. Our guide, Fernando, was friendly and very knowledgeable about Mexico’s history and modes of transportation. The tacos were delicious.
Fun way to see Mexico City!

    Not the tourists Mexico City
    Gina_C, Jan 2024
Fernando was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and informative. It was really an amazing experience to see the non tourist areas of CDMX. But, wear your walking shoes and be prepared to get close on the metro train.
    Highly recommend this tour!
    Nina_L, Jan 2024
This tour was wonderful! Learned so much about the city and the municipality that we explored. Really loved getting ot travel on the subway and "cable bus" system. Getting to take the cable bus over the city was so great to get a perspective on the neighborhoods and view all of the rooftop murals. Loved getting to walk through Iztapalapa, and stopping at a local market to try a taco. Our tour guide was so knowledgable. Highly recommend this unique tour!
    Great and unique experience!
    Denise_M, Jan 2024
I would definitely recommend this tour if you're visiting Mexico city. It offered a less touristic view of the city and lots of interesting information about Mexico's history and culture. Also the taco and pulque drink at the end were amazing!
    Just do it.
    sally_l, Jan 2024
We had a really really good day with fernando. He took us to very different areas of the city. And he was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Mexico and Mexico City. We would highly recommend.
    Immersive, fast-paced, non-touristy experience
    Marc_C, Jan 2024
This was a fast-paced tour with much walking, but we did exactly what I was hoping to accomplish. We got great insight into how a local lives and uses public transportation. We got to see some wonderful murals in Iztapalapa, ride the Cablebus, and we got to experience a small local market that was not frequented by tourists. We capped off the tour with a tasting of Pulque at a really unique Pulqueria near the Zocalo. We truly enjoyed our experience, and I will look for other tours offered by Warrior Tours (Fernando) the next time we're in CDMX!
    Highly recommend!
    Beth_H, Dec 2023
Awesome experience - Fernando was super knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He made the whole experience really enjoyable. We learnt a lot about Mexican history, culture and the cities transport networks, while experiencing the worlds longest cable bus (gondola) and the metro. Great way to safely see other parts of Mexico City you may not visit otherwise!
