Teotihuacan Pyramid tour
Roy_S, Jan 2019
Gerson was our tour guide and was very informative and friendly. Explained everything that is there too know about those pyramids.
Great day!

Really great guides, great way to explore the city in one day. Only downside was a touristy lunch stop

excellent trip, great knowledge from the guild with beautiful views in this large archaeological city. Only down side is you pick a trip that has no food on it so you can try local food or have other plans, but they take you to the mass buffet and there is know were for you to go. so your are stuck there waiting in the car park while others pay for pricey generic grub. This is of course after you have the sales pitch to buy stuff more expensive than the street vendors you saw around the pyramids

It's worthwhile to get there before the crowd gets there and it heats up; especially if you like less strangers in your photos

There were about 60 people on the tour with only 2 guides. We were split in two. Even though I booked an english tour we had a few spanish speakers so we had to listen to the guides tour twice once in spanish and once in english. This made the tour take twice as long. What could have easily been a half day tour ended up taking a whole day so I wasted a ton of time. Our guide also had no skill at corralling the large group and we were constantly waiting on people who didnt meet at the agreed upon time. The guide ended up changing the meeting point at the end of the tour and some people were not aware and we ended up leaving like 5 people. Not sure where they ended up as I never saw them again throughout the other activities on the tour. After Teotihuacan we were taken to Lunch which started with a 30 minutes sales pitch at some shop to attempt to get us to buy junk from some shop. Then I had to wait 90 minutes while people ate some lunch that was included with their tour but not mine. After we had to go back and make 2 stops hotels to drop people off who didnt book the City Sightseeing tour. I was so upset and so behind schedule that I just got off at the hotel and skipped the second part of my tour sightseeing. I would never recommend someone take this tour or use this company.

The Teotihuacan Pyramids Early Access Tour was great. The Historical City Sightseeing Tour was one of the worst tours I have been on - there was no plan for the tour, we walked a few blocks only, and there wasn't much information provided. It's unfortunate, because this could be a good combination tour however, they do not do a good job with the city tour. The pyramids tour is worth it!!

JAIME L, Sep 2016
Excellent, yet straining tour. Pick-up is very early in the morning. Once in the pyramids, the guide will walk you to the main sites. Be prepared to walk three to five kilometers in the span of three hours. Bring good walking shows. If you are coming in the summer, temperatures can be chilly, bring a good rain coat or umbrella. Don't forget your sunscreen as well. The restaurant choice for lunch was forgettable, but this portion of the tour was very good. No pushy sales pitches, informative guide, and a one in a lifetime experience seeing one of the greatest historical sites in the world. The second portion of the tour, in Mexico City's historical city center is much shorter, perhaps 90min. We visited the government palace and the guide was extremely knowledgeable in explaining Diego Rivera's murals. A real masterpiece that allows you to better understand Mexico. The main cathedral is also stunning, with its gold gilded sculpture and its leaning columns. Most buildings in the historical centers are leaning due to the sandy ground and a succession of earthquakes. Quite amazing and definitely a recommended experience.

Beautiful views of ancient pyramids. There are a number of dogs and cuddly puppies who reside in the place. They were very friendly and I hope someone looks after them. The biggest chanllege was to climb one of the pyramides. I was almost out of breath when I reached the middle of the pyramid.

I have been to Mexico before but have never done this tour. I loved that they were able to pick us up at the hotel! The bus for the tour was very clean and comfortable. Definitely grab some breakfast before because the gas station where they stop before the pyramids is not that great. Upon arrival, our guide was great! We learned a lot and had a great experience. The restaurant where they took us for lunch could have been more authentic. We actually passed up a small village before the restaurant where I think they should have taken us instead. It was neat trying the different Mezcal. I would not recommend that you purchase the City Sightseeing... we were very tired when we finally got back to the city and where not interested in the walking tour. Our guide for this portion was also very distracted and we made the decision to cut the tour early.

The morning tour was good but lunch was bad- I got sick- and the store where we did the tequila tasting- we are still fighting if you buy something make sure you check your credit card receipt before you sign even if they tell you to hurry! and the afternoon City tour was a disaster! We didn't start where the tour was supposed to and our guide could hardly speak English! We have taken many Viator tours around the world and we have never had such an awful experience! If Viator has contracted your tour out to AMIGO Tours don't go!!!!!!

Nicholas P, Mar 2016
The first part of the tour went relatively well. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personal. The stop for lunch also went well. However, in the afternoon, our tour guide was poor. He started off my letting us know that if we were tired and wanted to cancel the tour altogether, that was okay with him. He then asked us what we wanted to see. We had no idea what there was to see. We were counting on him to show us things. We then proceeded to walk around and he just told us what he knew about any particular building or place that we happened to be standing next to. He went on and on in a really boring way, reciting off particular dates and not presenting any of it very well at all. He also left at a certain point for about 15 minutes and made us wait for him on a street corner. He also bought a hamburger because he was hungry at one point.

Yesterday we went on this tour. It was a long day but If you only have a few days in Mexico City I think it is a good way to scedule it. What didn't work at all, was using a guide who rarely speaks English on the pyramid tour!! Really I can not recommend the tour and the agency because of that..

We highly recommend the Teotihuacan Pyramids Early Access part of the tour. It was the highlight of our trip to Mexico City and the tour guide Leo was amazing - well informed and a great guide! It was great to get into the pyramids early and with no crowds. Unfortunately we do not recommend the Historical City Sightseeing Tour. There was a different guide that we met after our day at the pyramids and he was very distracted on his phone most of the time, we felt rushed along, and we were also not taken into the National Palace it was listed on the itinerary. Additionally, he asked us for a tip at the end we generally do tip but we felt pressured when he asked us and he also gave us a pamphlet of his personal tour company in case we were thinking of doing other tours - we just found him very unprofessional and it was nothing like the first part of our day at the pyramids. Don't spend the extra money for the City Sightseeing and perhaps try another combination with the tour of Teotihuacan.

Our tour guide Leonardo is outstanding. The tour is also very on time. The second half of the historical city sightseeing is also nice, our tour guide in the afternoon did a great job explaining Diego Rivera's mural in the national palace.
I really enjoyed the early morning...
Ryan B, Jan 2016
I really enjoyed the early morning tour being that there were barely any one there besides a few families. I booked tour in late Jan, so I suggest anyone going during this time to dress appropriately as it was quite cold. Our tour guide Leonardo was very nice, patient and knowledgable. I didn't care for the restaurant at the end of the tour. I ordered a salad and to be honest, it was quite awful. If your main goal is to get as much out of Teotihuacan as you can, I think this is the tour for you.
