Spirits, monsters, and ghosts run amok in Munich—or so you’ll discover on this spooky tour. Following your local guide, you’ll hear scary stories and wild tales of the city’s dark side, from shameful secrets to evil pasts to inexplicable terrors, executions, and even miracles. Make a few stops to gain some "liquid courage" as you discover the spooky side of town.

Your guide will meet you by the doors of the Ludwig Beck department store. The doors are located at the top of the stairs at exit C of Marienplatz U-Bahn station. Look for a guide with a Ghosts and Spirits sign. Warning: our guides do *not* dress in costumes, so beware of any cloaked beings nearby.

What To Expect

Meet for this Munich ghost tour at the designated meeting location within the city. This walking tour takes place at night and your guide knows the city well to keep you safe and keep you from getting lost in the dark.

Follow your guide through areas of the city such as Marienplatz, Platzl, Odeonsplatz, Salvatorplatz, Promenadeplatz, and Frauenplatz. As you stroll, listen to your guide’s stories of ghosts and spirits that are sure to spook you. From legends of vampires and werewolves to lore of witches, ghosts, and other dark forces, this tour focuses on the haunted history of Munich. Plus, this experience also includes three alcoholic drinks during the trek.

After this Munich ghost tour ends, it drops you back at the original meeting location.

Fun tour

We had a good time on this walking tour. Our guide was very entertaining and enthusiastic. There are several stops for drink when you learn some German drinking games, which we thought was fun, but may not be as kid/family appropriate. Felt like it dragged on a little bit though, we would have preferred if it was closer to 1.5 or 2 hours rather than 3.

Hi Sarah, the tour is clearly listed as being 2.5 hours long, so you will only disappoint yourself by hoping that we will magically shave an hour off for your convenience. The tour description also clearly lists alcohol as included, but obviously, we provide substitutes for children and non-drinkers (also listed in description). Perhaps, let the parents decide what is and is not family appropriate, as children often take this tour and love it. Take care!

Whimsy and clever - We enjoyed the walking ghosts tour hitting the “hot spots” of Munich. It was a beautiful evening and the stories and tales were entertaining. Note for those 18 years and under part of the entertainment includes “drinking” games.

Sophie was very enthusiastic and extremely friendly and made us feel comfortable from the beginning. Although initially we were skeptical of the content provided, Sophie did a great job of bringing it all together and we ended up having a better time than expected. Munich is a great city on it's own. But Szofis Stories and shared insights give a whole new perspective to a beautiful city. Not a dull moment and so many enjoyable and memorable things alonge the tour. Places you would never look twice at get a completely new context. Thanks a lot to Szofi our Guide for shareing an telling all those wonderfull stories and overall for beeing a wonderful person! We are looking forward to next tours with her!
