We are located 20 meters to the right past the exit of the Ercolano Scavi train station, reachable from Naples via the train to Poggiomarino Via Scafati, or from Sorrento via the train to Naples. Send a message via whatsapp once you have finished to complete your reservation, thank you! NOTE: trains headed to Sorrento from Naples will not stop at the Ercolano Scavi station due to a temporary service variation. In case you find yourself on such a ride, get off at Torre Annunziata and take a train headed back to Naples; trains to Naples from Torre Annunziata will stop at every station, including Ercolano Scavi.

Good driver on hairy roads!!

We were lucky to have sunshine. Amazing views of the Bay of Naples and the Islands. The walk up from the coach drop off was doable in the two hours we had. Coach pick-up/ drop-off area is chaotic. Take a phone picture of the pick-up time, the driver/ the coach registration number. The same coach picks up as drops off. Be back in good time. I was worried about the drive up and down - I'm not good with flying round hair-pin bends on steep hillsides. Thankfully, our driver was absolutely marvellous. He tooted the horn before all sharp blind bends, went steadily and left good distances between himself and other vehicles. I felt completely safe, which made a huge difference to me. It meant I could relax and enjoy the actual trip. Took 35 mins each way roughly. Full coach. No complaints. Well done!!

Memorable and a Unique Experience!

Although, because of the rain during our visit we were not able to walk the path around the top of Vesuvius, it was still an honor for my family and I to have reached the top. Luca communicated with me for an earlier time due to the rain, and for that I am very grateful! I recommend this trip for any who are interested! If things go wrong, trust you will be treated with respect and compensation.

The tour leff in time and the bus was reasonably confortable (small for big legs), the driver was careful and attentive. Be advised there is no guided tour included, this must be purchased separately on the site. The return trip was around 30 minutes late with no explanations or excuses offered, we standed by not seeing our bus and waited patiently. Also there was a sign inside the bus asking for tips to the driver, which I found a bit odd but maybe a licla custom.

Vesuvius is great, this ticket company was a disaster.

Don’t book with these people. Yes go to Vesuvius, it was great and the park provided guide was amazing. These people were no help. Brushed off inquiries about the train strike( yes we would like to get there, but the train you are telling us to come from is on strike, it luckily ended before we went, but they didn’t bother to update us), has misleading information about train stations. Didn’t answer phone calls trying to get clarification. Screeched at my senior citizen mom about using their bathroom, as it was ‘being cleaned’ by the lady on her phone… Then they weren’t even open when we got back from the tour (they don’t put it on they are just tack on a fee and re-sell tickets) they didn’t even have the office open to use the bathroom again. If I had to go again there is a ‘citysightseeing’ bus tour from Naples. No transportation stress that way.

Dear Kaitlin, but overall dear travellers that are you reading this review, I'm really surprised by the point of view here expressed that I find also offensive. It's not the first time and our job sometimes includes the understanding of psycological issues that are not so clear also for us but probably belong to wrong expectations. And at the end of each experience seems to be something useful to express the negative quality of an experience giving the worst rate that problably derives from a stressful and frustrating state of mind (as you wrote at the end). So I want to invite first of all you everybody to see please on line the official page of "I Point Ercolano", as "Discover South", try to digit: we have only 5 stars, our customers are always in the middle of our attention and we have smiles for everybody, every day, 365 days. If there's something that characterize us is the emphaty and the patience with everybody and our nice and sweet welcome with everybody, also if there's a problem to be solved. So I would like to explain why I find these words really offensive and false for many reasons: 1. There was an operator cleaning the bathroom and we kindly asked to wait before to enter in in order to avoid accidents and to find a cleaned bathroom, I think is normal or not? 2. Once you back from the tour we were opened as every day but working inside at the back office but we are not obliged to be opened in the afternoon to make you use the bathroom??? Do you know that in Naples as in Italy you could go in any bar as the bart close by asking for a coffee and using the toilet fro free...we are not a toilet office sorry! 3. About resell tickets and fee, do you know that without the presell of tickets you wouldn't find any ticket for Mount Vesuvius that is daily sold out? Do you know services offered by travel agencies and on platform like this that give you the chance to book a service (that you appreciated also giving 1 star, crazy!) 4. All the feedback speak for us so we are really disappointed but what you described is false and about the strike of trains you could be better informed inside the train station, we are a touristic infopoint and we cannot be ready to give you support if there are changes hour per hour during a strike. Glad we booked this transfer

Excellent experience. Had to take the ticket they send to a little shop on a corner to exchange for another ticket than then gets exchanged for another ticket when the bus arrives. Weird on the way back the driver didn't check tickets so there ended up being more people on the bus so people ended up sat on the floor. Bad planning. Everything else was excellent.

Great tour but very busy with people on buses

Great walking tour of Mount Vesuvius, specifies to be there 30 minutes before scheduled time but didn’t need to be. This tour seems to coincide with another on the same bus as we were waiting in the queue for the bus a massive group turned up with a guide and they were allowed on first to the bus that we had stood 35 min waiting for. If your going to visit this tour is recommended for a budget. Next time we would take a private smaller bus to avoid pushing and shoving to get onto the bus.

Dear Louise, thank you for your feedback, it's the occasion to clarify some points. We always ask to be here 30 minutes before in order to avoid to arrive later. Many guests from Naples come later getting wrong trains and arriving with delay. This is the main reason also because we cannot move to other bus being booked for you at the time we receive. This is the only chance to book bus and ticket in advance because tickets are sold out day by day for weeks. Of course a private service can be boughted but I would like to underline that is necessary to book tickets in advance and without tickets - not available on that day for example - you could go with a confortable private car but without entering into the national park, also because there's not more ticket office since pandemic. I like to add some elements to have a more clear painting of the excursions especially for many guests that will book this trip. Best regards, Luca

Mt. Vesuvius by bus was the last adventure of our three week Italy trip with our four grandchildren. It was a definite highlight for all!

I'm having a hard time with this one. On one hand, it did the job. We got transportation to the highest part of Mount Vesuvius and got to climb to the top and had a ride back. Was the top amazing? Yes! But did this have anything to do with what we bought? Not really. We arrived at the location as listed and stood in line, there was no one there directing any questions. Then we get to the beginning of the line to board the bus and the guys that arrived 5 minutes before are telling us, we have to go to a different location. So we walk across the street to a small office and show the person my digital ticket and she writes me a slip. Then we walk back across the street and hand the slip to the first guys. They then take the slip and give me another slip. (How stupid to have digital tickets and then use all this paper.) They were also directing some people to stay to the side because they had 9:30 tickets and letting some people with 9:30, like ourselves, on the bus. We got to the top via bus and once we get off, its pure chaos. The person meeting us at Mount Vesuvius, had no idea how to get us all tickets to get in. After about 10 minutes, he finally figured it out. I asked if there was a bathroom at the bottom of the park before walking and he said yes, then find out, there is not and you should use the bathroom at the shop at the bottom before entering the park. Like I said before, it'll get you there and get the job done but not without some confusion and chaos.

Went on this tour with my brother in May 2023. Picked up our tickets from the tour station next to the Ercolano Scavi station and got on the coach bus that takes you up to Vesuvius. They drop you off at the Path No. 5 - The Gran Cono. The bus drops you off and you have approximately 2 hours to make the hike. It's steep but can easily be done with the time allocated. Bus is on time and had air-conditioning. Would recommend for anyone looking to see the famous Mount Vesuvius.

Absolutely amazing tour operator and accommodating host. We missed our time slot due to horrific Naples traffic and missed train times however once we got in contact with the host who made the necessary arrangements and got us on the next bus. Stunning views great prompt bus service. Worth the money. Be sure to check with the Bus driver (he usually holds a sign) on return bus times.

Amazing experience, a very memorable day out. The transport was clean and comfortable and left on time at the start of the trip. The views from the top were well worth the climb! We must have finished sooner than expected as there was a bit of a wait for a bus back, but overall would definately reccommended booking this trip!

We had a problem with our connecting train en route to the tour. Luca, the representative, stayed in touch via WhatsApp and have helpful advice and instruction. We arrived slightly too late to catch the coach but Luca had already found us seats on the next one. This was our last day in Italy and would have missed the chance to see Vesuvius without Luca's help.

Expensive package sold by reseller

These tickets are « black » market : some guys buy all available official tickets for the Vesuvio Park. And then they resell it here, as an expensive package for bus+park entry. Additionnaly, organization is quite bad, with minimum informations. And bonus : no sign of the so called « vesuvio guided tour ». Enjoy the visit by yourself ! I can’t call it Scam because tickets were real. But it is close.

I've already sent you via whatsapp all the explanations for a kind of respect to you and to make you understand how works all the process and the dynamics. I would have liked to receive your feedback at the same way in which we offer our kind welcome from the begininning of the reservation but we are not the same, it's ok! 1. There's not black market: there's a limited number of tickets on line and these are buyed from lot of private guests and travel agencies in Italy and abroad. The resell is available together with the bus and actually it's the only way available to go up on Mount Vesuvius. There's not any expensive package because is a private service and then it's offered on a on line platform with all the rights of a global agency for which is necessary to pay a commission as normal global way. It's not true we don't give informations: we provide to give you everything via whatsapp and explaining once in our office the itinerary of the trip. The visit is free because on the tickets you will find "guide included" and this ticket is produced bu the national park of vesuvius and not from us. If you are able to find a guide you can have an english tour inside the cratere but if you don't find it you can go on normally. I would like to repeat again that this service is not provided by us but from the national Park and it's not our fault or responsability. So please don't say "scam" or something similar because it's offensive for our work and for all the positive reviews we receive every day as I Point Ercolano and as Travel Agency Discover South. Since many years we focus our work on quality and providing services to our guests. I would appreciate a lot a cancelation of this review after all my explanations, also because we are here to solve any problem and 1. You decided to book this tour on line getting the chance of a ticket and bus in advance; 2 . You could choose to go by walk on the top in 3 hours but without entering into the cratere. So why this negative review? Anyway the most important for me is to give a long clarification to all my future guests. Easy combo but make sure you have time

Thanks to this opportunity you could visit Mount Vesuvius, but I can guarantee other travellers couldn't make because all the buses were sold out such us the entrance tickets. A steep climb for stunning views

After a pretty gruelling climb we reached the summit of the cone, it was simply stunning. Thankfully and dry and bright day allowing you to see the details in the smouldering rock face as well as views of the coast. The bus ride is not for the faint hearted or easily travel sick!

it was quite the experience to climb one of the most famous volcanoes in the world. the trip was quite smooth and the operator was really nice!
