What To Expect

Make your way to the Ryman Auditorium, where you can redeem your voucher for admission on a self-guided tour. The first stop on the tour is the “Soul of Nashville,” a state-of-the-art theater experience that uses special effects, holograms, and archival footage to introduce the Ryman Auditorium’s 125-year history, with plenty of country stars along the way, including Darius Rucker, Sheryl Crow, The Fisk Jubilee Singers, and Vince Gill.

Following the presentation, continue through the Ryman Auditorium’s exhibits; short films are hosted by Emmylou Harris, Marty Stuart, Nicole Kidman, Ricky Skaggs, Robin Roberts, and Trisha Yearwood. The exhibits cover everything from the early days of country music performance to contemporary stars: visit Workin’ on a Building, Showplace of the South, Mother Church of Country Music, Inspired: 125 Years of Performance, and Ryman Renaissance.

This self-guided tour is available from 9am to 4pm.

A Must See Site
Daisuke_Y, Apr 2024
It was an immersive experience in the beginning with the video and the auditorium had great exhibits to learn more about the history and the artists who performed there. Love the fact that souvenir photo is free!
Must see

I’ve visited the Ryman 3 times now and have enjoyed it every time. Saw LeAnn Rhimes at the Ryman last April. Absolutely amazing
Great self guided tour
Kelly_S, Apr 2024
A beautiful venue to experience the history of country music. The self guided tour was great - we didn’t feel we needed to do a guided tour.
It was nice to see this historic old building and understanding its history and the role it played in the music scene

Would like to see a show, but went on the tour. Probably should have gone on guided tour. The introductory multimedia show was excellent!

Just walking into the Ryman you can feel the sacredness of it. Almost took my shoes off before stepping on the stage because it felt like I was walking on holy ground. Loved the experience and the easiness of booking this experience through Viator

The self guided tour of Ryman auditorium was fabulous. Viator's online ticket purchasing process is horrible. Couldn't find confirmation or tickets once purchased but Wow did Viator charge my credit card instantly. I will never use this service again.
terrific

Well worth the time and money

Seeing the original home of the GOO was memorable. Sitting in the pews gave me a feeling of what if May Neb been like watching the performers. The displays around the walls and the videos near each one were quite informative. The entire staff was very welcoming

I loved the mementos of the different artists and the sense of history, also the beauty of the place. I’m so glad it was restored and still in use.
Excellent

The history of the Rayman welcome video. The exhibits were fantastic of the artist who played at the auditorium were a sight to see.
A must-see in Nashville

We decided to upgrade our ticket to a guided tour. It was great. Our guide was animated, informative and very interesting giving us the history as well as the entertainment features of the past. It is so much more enjoyable to listen to the experts rather than trying to experience it yourself.
Wonderful, learning event
Karla_M, Dec 2023
My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed recording a song together. Thank you for this memorable moment. It would be nice if you could keep the recording studio.
Glad I went but slightly underwhelmed.
Alan_B, Dec 2023
Convenient location. Beautiful, historic venue. Fascinating history. The initial film to begin the tour was helpful. Some nice exhibits that ringed the seating. I think it could have used a little more historical videos of performances. I probably only spent 45 minutes total. I thought it was a little pricey but it's for a good cause.
Worthwhile visit to the Ryman
Joan_P, Dec 2023
Enjoyed this visit very much. Had always heard of the Ryman and felt the visit was memorable even without being a country/Opry fan
