Amazing day and experience - dress for a hike
Lucy_A, Feb 2024
Such a great day, exceeded expectations, meeting rastas and how they live in mountains was just awesome, food was amazing, just be aware it’s a 45 minute hike, well 30 minutes is a uphill hike so trainers and gym wear is a must and water, but so worth it. Would def do it again.
A Moment to Celebrate Natural Life - #fulljoy
Rochelle_S, Dec 2023
This was absolutely a highlight of our trip! Our taxi driver was kind and punctual for both trips and the hike/lunch experience was one we won't soon forget. Zimbali is a beautiful place. We were welcomed with starfeuit and ginger juice with crushed ice that cooled us from the inside out. The hike, although listed as moderate, was challenging at times. Our guide, O'Neil, paused a few times so we could catch our breath. He also stopped along the way to point out plants and trees, as well as to fill bottles with spring water. When we made it to the treehouse at the top of the mountain, we met Patrick and Fire - two Rastafarians that fed us and educated us on the natural lifestyle. We drank fresh Soursop juice on ice. The views and food were incredible! We loved our time together and hope more people take advantage of this awesome experience!
Horrible Behavior By Owner
Paulette_B, Nov 2023
The most memorable was a horrible conversation with the owner, Mark. We were trying to get directions and he was insulting and rude to us and then used profanity (i.e. F..off, etc.) towards us as well and hung up on us. Very unprofessional.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Ohhhh to be young and have the whole revolve around you. Been doing this 14 years and finally just broke on a couple who wouldnt listen at all. Its really so easy and thousand before you have been able to navigate making a reservation and getting here. We offer transport which you turned down over and over and then last minute couldnt get your driver to get you here, insisted we had a rally point with free transport which we dont and so much more. Thousands before you have come and gone with such ease and yet you were just unable and it was all my fault...fancy that. Tried to get you to just cancel for a full refund, but you just had to tag team me husband and wife telling me how it was my fault...I have 5 kids and I hope i can get them to make a tour easily.
Couldn’t recommend this more!

Best time ever on this excursion, worth every penny and then some! Thank you so much to Mark and co. For the amazing experience. We got to sample local fruits straight from the vine and learn all about the flora and fauna in the area, which was so cool. Plus the meal that we got was incredible- even my meat eating husband was super full afterwards! Everyone we encountered was genuinely so friendly and generous, we’re so grateful. It was such a magical day with such beautiful surroundings, Zimbali Retreat looks unreal too! Thanks again!!
Pleasant experience

The lunch was vary good, the guide cosmo and Patrick were vary friendly. It’s to bad we didn’t get up the mountain.

Occasionally due to weather we will do the tour at Fiyah farm in the lower community as the rain can make the hike slippery. Thanks for coming :) Blessings- Mark
empowering and life changing
Rory_R, Nov 2022
what starting as a normal hike , turned into a group of strangers empowering each other to finish . this hike is not for the weary it has parts of steep inclines and then flat services , that left all activity seekers in. A ball of sweat . We tackled this together one step at a time , arm in arm at times , words of you can do this , all ages strength levels , The tour guide was nothing short of amazing and kind and the food and views were amazing . Would I do this again you might ask , I am a older women and my answer is yes I pushed myself to my limits and beyond…. Thank you so much so allowing me , to see myself in another light ….

My Favorite experience of my entire stay in Jamaica. Everyone had nothing but good vibes. Hiking up the mountain and learning about their lifestyle in the mountains was amazing
Hiking and vegan food
aborg588, Jan 2020
Fire was a great host! He was super knowledgeable about his farm since he has been there for 37 years. The hike was moderate and the food was super clean and healthy. Being interested in the Rastafarian religion for a long time it was great to finally take this tour.
Great tour
michaelmcgarril, Jan 2020
This tour was was a great way to try something different and experience rastafarian culture first hand. The hike was invigorating, but not too long and left a lot of time to hang with Fiyah up in the hills. It was just us and another group of 2, and our guide was very chill and gave into about the vegetation, surroundings, etc. The Ital meal that Fiyah cooked was the highlight for me and my girlfriend (especially because I’m vegan). Would highly recommend!
