Interesting and interactive tour!
Mairi_L, Apr 2024
My guide Tony was absolutely brilliant - so friendly, knowledgeable, he took time to answer any questions and made sure I was in the shade and comfortable at all times. It was wonderful walking round with him as he knew the artists personally. There is so much street art to see, the artists’ studios were beautiful and Tony walked me through the really interesting processes of wood, stone and metal printing. Getting to try the printing myself was really fun too - and you have a sourvenir to take home. The cacao tasting is a great way to end to relax after all the walking. The host here was again very friendly and knowledgable. The place was very relaxing and I felt very well cared for. I’d definitely recommend this tour - and encourage you to bring cash in case you want to purchase any art/cacao.
Lovely Art Walk & Engaging Cacao Tasting
Jamie_O, Mar 2024
Our tour guide Tony was very knowledgeable about the art and history of Oaxaca. We really enjoyed the different types of art and styles on our walk. The cacao tasting was the highlight of the tour for us. Our host was lovely and very knowledgeable and engaging.
An amazing walk through the art and design of Oaxaca.

One highlight was visiting with the artist in his shop and viewing the diversity of his and his students work. This was followed by the art studio and print shop where prisoners art work is displayed and sold … an incredible social development project. Tony, our tour guide was delightful, personable and informative. His background info provided so much more depth to what we were viewing and how they had come about! All of these experiences were capped by a visit to the cacao shop and the wonderful woman and her partner who provided such a warm welcome and introduction to cacao! The dessert at the end of her presentation was to die for!
Don't skip this tour!

We had a blast on this tour! I was initially worried it might be too long, but Tony, our fantastic guide, kept us engaged the whole time. The neighborhood walk showcased tons of vibrant street art—I couldn't stop snapping photos! Learning about the local art scene in Oaxaca was fascinating, and ending with a taste of local chocolate was the cherry on top. There were chances to grab gifts at the chocolate spot and from art vendors, which beats touristy shops any day. I highly recommend this tour, but unlike us, do it early in your trip. We did it on our last day and wished we'd gotten those city tips sooner.
Gracious, relaxed, informed street art and yumminess!

What an informed, friendly, and gracious guide Tony was! This was relaxed but covered a lot, and with plenty of variety - street art, studio/atelier visits, and a classy, educational cacao tasting. Social well-being/social justice, ecology, and local peoples are respected here. We even ended up over the 4.5 hours, so I suggest you bring water and a snack to keep you going!
A tour with so much delight . A must for those interested in culture , art and cacao
Michele_G, Oct 2023
This is so much more than an art walk and Cacao delight , which it most certainly is . Margaux , a talented artist and Tony , our guide and learning the art of the printmaking are two of the kindest people we have ever met . We were so fortunate to meet artist Abraham Torres , see his work while in the studio . Margo and Tony were also preparing for an art opening of works from artists who are incarcerated and again , so fortunate to see this exhibit and learn about both the program and some of the artists. Then off we went learning so much as we walked with Tony about the murals along the city , the city , stopping at artist Christopher Diaz studio and shop to create a print . Wonderful , talented and kind we left with our created prints in hand . Next off to Cacao Delight . What a special experience learning about Cacao , tasting and then learning to make our Cacao beverage . Wow ! Another fabulous stop at Chimalapa Cacao with such lovely , knowledgeable , friendly owners . Yes , artists in a different medium ( the shop name ) So , yes , if in Oaxaco , this is a must .

Knowledgeable & personable- a winning combination
Sheindl_R, Feb 2022
Margo is knowledgable and personable, a winning combination for a tour operator. The tour began with a visit to the print workshop of Abraham Torres, which opened my eyes to the intricacies of printing, and gave me an understanding of how widespread it is in Oaxaca. We walked and learnt the background of many of the works of street art - very interesting , and finished with a delicious surprise visit to Chimalapa Cacoa. I’d suggest that you bring a good snack if you think you may get hungry. Although we stopped at two places, the main offerings were drinks and sweets. My honey and I recommend the trilingual Margo and Vamos O Qué?!
