We had such a fun time. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the area and I really enjoyed listening to the stories and legends on the drive to Hierve el agua where the views are amazing. There were 4 of us in total on the trip.
I recommend for hierve el agua to wearing swim wear underneath clothes and wearing trainers for the walk. We found it easy enough to find the waterfall and had enough time at the pools. I’d take flip flops in your bag and a towel as the ground gets very hot on the feet walking between the pools - I couldn’t be bothered putting trainers back on in between. There are changing rooms there. Afterwards we sat down for a beer and some fresh fruit.
We headed on to the Mezcal tour and learned a lot about the process. The sampling was so much fun, I asked for smaller measurements and I’m glad I did as there is quite a selection to sample (recommend a large breakfast before you go!) and I know I’m a lightweight!
We ended up going for drinks and food with the two other ladies in the group after.

Great small group tour with a total of 7 guests, in a comfortable air-conditioned van. Excellent service by the team on WhatsApp prior to the tour, and Adriel the guide provided a lot of information on Oaxaca, the culture and history. The Hierve al Agua was pretty with several instragram spots if you bring your swimsuit. Good amount of time to enjoy and laze around before heading off to the mezcal distillery, where we learnt about the different agave and sampled 10 different types. Overall a fun day spent learning about Oaxaca and its people and practices.

Adriel was awesome. We honestly enjoyed the car ride where he provides history and stories around the Oaxacan culture on the way to all of the tours. Marcos, the driver is equally awesome. We truly enjoyed our time on the tour.

The views are stunning & getting into the pools was so nice after a bit of a hike (we didn’t go all the way down) Our guide Adriel gave us an interesting running commentary throughout the drive. Mezcal tour - v cool & fun with bartender Santiago! Would recommend!

Words cannot describe how incredible this tour was, and it would not have been possible without our guide, Adriel! He was such a pleasure to talk to! Very informative and attentive. We learned a wealth of knowledge from him about everything from Oaxacan traditions to mezcal. He went above and beyond, showing us different sites and experiences. And, a big GRACÍAS to our mezcal expert, Santiago - porque algunas mezcales son para desayuno! 😉
