We loved our day trip with Oaxaca by locals! Don’t let the long trip duration deter you from booking - yes it’s long but we loved all the stops, it’s super well organized and the day really does fly by. Our guide Pavel was fantastic - he gave us a lot of great information about all the sites and is very knowledgeable. Also for this price it’s pretty unbeatable, definitely recommend!

      OAXACA IN A DAY
      Laura_V, Apr 2024
Our tour guide Rodrigo was incredible. So much information. The sights were beautiful! Food was great, breath taking views and experiences. 10/10!
      Great adventure

The experience was amazing, definitely a must-do when in Oaxaca. The guide was friendly and funny with excellent English. You can wander Hierve el Agua without a local guide, but if you're fit and like to see more things, hiring the local guide is worth it. This tour is so many experiences in one day, that it's definitely worth it.
Too long, not a good experience
      Andrew_M, Apr 2024
Very long tour, spent 2 hours at a carpet weaving place and then a candle making place which were obvious funnels to buy things. The tour ended up taking 12 hours which was far too long. Ideally find a different tour which spends less time doing things not on the itinerary. If it was more focussed could have been back much sooner.
Hats off to Pavel! An amazing tour guide.

Our tour guide Pavel was really excellent! He was very knowledgeable and provided interesting details (just the right amount) that made our experience richer. He was at all times, calm and very competent and kept everyone on track. As for the tour itself it was a very long day 8am-8pm. I would suggest omitting the intent to marriage flower stop even though it was interesting. The lunch was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed all the activities. If it were possible to go to Hierve el Agua in the morning rather than the heat of the day that might also be a good idea. Thanks for a great experience.
      Amazing tour

This tour was an excellent experience. We got to see various aspects of the rich oaxacan culture and landscapes. Pavel is an excellent, knowledgeable and nice guide. I'm super happy I did this your. I highly recommend it. It's definitely worth the time and money.
Great tour & guide - bring lots of cash!
      Samantha_P, Apr 2024
This tour was pretty good value for money. Our guide Rodrigo was excellent. So many interesting facts about Oaxaca! His English was great, too. It would have been helpful to have more information about the tour in advance, such as what to bring. You'll definitely need to bring at least 500 pesos in cash because you have to pay the entrance fees to Tule Tree, Mitla, & Hierve El Agua, and for the lunch (180 pesos). Ideally you'll want to bring more than that because you'll have plenty of opportunities to buy waters etc., as well as small souvenirs and things. Some of the bathrooms are 10 pesos as well. You'll also want to bring sneakers (not sandals) for the hike to Hierve El Agua. Lots of walking. And bring a swimsuit for Hierve El Agua. There are changing stations at Hierve El Agua do you don't have to wear it all day. The bus air conditioner didn't seem to be working, so the bus ride in the afternoon to Hierve El Agua was pretty miserable. Otherwise, the tour was great & the stops exceeded expectations for me. Even the shorter stops like the textile factory were super cool & interesting.
A great and price-worthy day trip!

Great if you don't have much time in Oaxaca
      Kate_O, Apr 2024
Overall the tour was good and we really enjoyed our day. The stops were all good and interesting. We felt very rushed at a lot of the sites, especially as an additional stop was made to a candle making shop, which was not on the itinerary. We would rather have spent more time at hierve el agua. The guide Pawel was very knowledgeable but we felt like he did not want to be there at all, and he was visibly angry and irritated when some people were a few minutes late to some of the spots (despite the addition of the candle part). If also felt like it would have made sense to go to hirve el agua first, as with all the other stops we reached there in the middle of the day when it was hottest and more difficult to hike.
Must-do in Oaxaca! Convenient, informative and culturally rich!
      Bailey_P, Apr 2024
The tour was fabulous and well worth it. Going with guides not only made reaching each destination more convenient but also enriched the cultural experience and learning we did about Oaxaca and the indigenous people and cultures present there today and historically. Rodrigo, our guide, was super knowledgeable and informative and integral to how much fun we had throughout the day. He had great energy, too, and an awesome playlist to end the day when we headed back to the city. The only negative is that we opted online to do the tour in Spanish and it ultimately was conducted in English. Because we all speak and understand English, this was fine; however, it was odd because the confirmation received was for a Spanish tour...
      Worth it!

Pavel was a great guide! He was very punctual and gave very accurate descriptions of our itinerary. Definitely recommend booking this tour! You get to see many places in Oaxaca!
A full day of information and insight!
      Christine_H, Mar 2024
Pável was an excellent guide with brilliant knowledge and insight into the areas we visited. He also was interested in getting to know us as individuals which gave the tour a personal touch. Edgar was a great driver and the van was comfortable. The tour itself was informative and well coordinated. Highly recommend it!
      An amazing excursion!

Thank you, Pável and Oaxaca by Locals for this tour! It was an amazing way to explore sacred places, get to experience ancient traditions, and learn so much more about the Zapotec culture. A lovely day, with a lovely group.
      Great English tour
      Jane_S, Mar 2024
Sceptical with all the stops but everything was great! We didn't feel rushed and there was alot of variety which was actually interesting. The guide Miguel was honestly the best and super knowledgeable and his English was fluent - we had an English speaking only van and Spanish speaking group went on a different van. Definitely worth the value although you can probably get a spanish speaking tour in town for alot cheaper with similar itinerary.

Our guide Pavel was excellent. We really enjoyed the tour although it was 11-12h long. Would recommend!
      Great tour. Even better guide.
      Susan_B, Mar 2024
Roderigo is an amazing guide. I have mobility problems, and he went out of his way to make sure I was safe and comfortable. Every stop was better than expected. I strongly recommend this tour and Roderigo.
      Worth my time👍
      Bac_N, Mar 2024
Was fun checking out widest tree in the world. Mitla ruins was great to visit. The lunch buffet was excellent!
      Exemplary !
      Ajith_N, Mar 2024
Son & I had a great time with this long tour of great spots of cultural significance close to Oaxaca city. Our guide Andrea and the Van operator Lewis were excellent...friendly and knowledgeable ... lot if stories, lot of info . Not to mention El Tule, Mitla, the weaver family in the Teotitlan De Valle, The Petrified rock , The Mezcal distillery tour and the tastings were all enchanting even in the hot burning Sun.....Thank you for this beautiful day well spent in the deep rooted culture of Oaxaca...Love it !
      Hierve el agua
      Katia_U, Mar 2024
The locations we visited were lovely and our guide, Pavel, was extremely knowledgeable. Our only suggestion is to make it shorter as we felt that we waited too long at the end of most of the activities.
      No water at the waterfalls
      Eric_S, Mar 2024
There are NO waterfalls at Hierve del agua. Nothing like the pictures represent. Very misleading. It is all dry. No river like in the promo pictures. Also dont sit in the front two seats, the guide only talks to the people in back so you will never hear him. Trip is a fun experience but you wilk pay an entrance fee at almost every stop which is not included. Bring lots of pesos.
      Good day out
      Lorena_B, Mar 2024
Good day out, even though it's packed with different things I never felt rushed, there was an adequate amount of time in each place so that it didn't feel like time wasting or a rush. Miguel was super nice too and always smiling and positive.
