Fun, tasty and informative tour!!

This was a fun and engaging tour of the Italian market in south Philly. Craig was an excellent tour guide, providing lots of history and insight of the area and how it’s evolved through the years. The food was terrific too! Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing time with Craig. This tour was high value, well paced and super informative. It was fun meeting local families who have been in the neighborhood for generations. Tastings were generous and of a great variety. I would do this tour again! Loved the neighborhood and the vibe!

We lived in the Philadelphia area forever but never experienced the Italian market that way. Chuck our guide was super knowledgeable and knew a lot of history and had some great stories. All the good was delicious as well.

Great tour. We took our college age son while he was home for spring break. Our guide, Chuck, was quick with an entertaining story and shared lots of history. Food samples were plentiful so arrive hungry!

Craig, our guide, was the best!! He was full of interesting stories, both personal and historical, which were woven all through the YUMMY eating experiences he procured for us. Craig lives in this neighborhood, so you couldn't find a more enthusiastic and knowledgable person to show you around this vibrant, thriving and delicious area of town. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND both this wonderful tour and our guide Craig!!

Great food and guide for a part of Philly we hadn't seen

Heather was a fantastic guide! We appreciated hearing about the neighborhood's rich 19th and 20th century Italian immigration narrative, current arts scene, and how more recent immigration trends have influenced the food. Tomato pie at Sarcone's, cannoli from Isgro's, banh mi from Pop Up Cafe, and tacos from Blue Corn were the main bites, and there were lots of smaller sample bites in between. It rained on the day we went, but the awning covered sidewalks of South 9th made it easier not to think about it. Overall, a fantastic experience!

We enjoyed all of the food and the ability to choose small differences when it came to the Bahn Mi and Tacos! Our guide, Chuck, was knowledgeable about the Italian Market community and Philly as a whole. We felt fortunate to have such an expert introducing us to the local food culture and neighborhood.

Our guide Craig was fantastic and lives in the neighborhood. The tour was really interesting and fun. He was flexible and accommodating to make sure we all had fun. Highly recommend! Be aware that even though it's an Italian Market tour the stops represent the diversity of the neighborhood and you will also learn about history, art and culture.

I really enjoyed the guide who seemed friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable. However I didn't hear much about the origins of the Italian market. I thought this was going to focus on Italian food and culture and instead we had Vietnamese and Spanish food. We spent a lot of time standing outside in the heat waiting for people to shop in some of the stores. I would have liked the focus to be on Italian food. We had pizza and cannoli which is sort of a stereotype of Italian food. I was disappointed

Thank you for this feedback. I am sorry you did not receive a 5-star exerpeince. The Italian influence on that market is indeed a key component of the history of that neighborhood. However, over the last several years, the market has grown to include several different nationalities as well, which is what makes it the vibrant and diverse area it is today. As we say in our tour description, this tour highlights the different cultures that have shaped (and continue to shape) the market, including Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese, and more. We believe that is what makes this tour truly unique!

This is the most informative and interesting tour I have ever had. Our tour group Chuck share a lot of information and his love of Phliiy with us. I especially like the various types of restaurants and different taste of food. The portion is huge, please don't eat breakfast, and you may not need to eat dinner. :)

Lots of great food and philly history

I took my husband and the family for my husband's birthday and it was an amazing trip. Chuck was knowledgeable and provided great information at every stop. Lots of great food. I am glad I skipped breakfast before going. I even shared everything with my 1 year old and was stuffed when we were done. I was the only vegetarian in the party and Chuck was able to accommodate me at every stop where the tastings were meat. I highly recommend this food tour. My husband has thanked me a dozen times for his birthday adventure. The whole family loved it.
